Finding The Right Business For You: Getting Paid

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

There are many different reasons why people choose to get involved in network marketing. Although it may not be the primary reason for many people, getting paid will be rank high on most people’s list.

So it makes sense that, when you are deciding which of the many available network marketing opportunities to get involved in, that part of your evaluation process will consider the payment, or commission scheme in place.

At this point things can get a bit complex. Unsurprisingly, almost every network marketing company in business today will claim to have the best pay plan available. They probaly genuinely believe this (and they might be right) and will usually devote several sheets of paper or screens to show this to you in all its glory. Expect to see the word “revolutionary” used at least once.

Some of these schemes can appear a bit complex to say the least. There will almost certainly be a matrix of some kind involved and there will probably be some kind of “ladder of success” where you earn new ranks and titles as you progress in the business.

It can seem a bit daunting, trying to work out how long it will take you to get from Space Cadet to Star Fleet Commander and what it all means in terms of money - but focus on a few simple questions and you can cut through the mumbo-jumbo.

What will you get paid for?
How much will you get paid?
When will you get paid?
How will you get paid?

What will you get paid for?
Surprisingly enough, this is a (slightly) more important question than “how much?” - for one simple reason. If your main, or only, source of income results from recruiting other people into the business, then there’s a very high possibility that you may be involved in a pyramid scheme.

Your main income should arise when you sell a product or service to a customer, not when you recruit someone. There’s absolutley nothing wrong with profiting whenever someone who you have introduced to the business makes a sale - but you shouldn’t be making significant income just for recruiting them.

You should also check if there is a “qualifying” level of sales that you need to make each month in order to get your commission. It can be very frustrating if, having built a large customer base and a healthy downline team, you miss out on your monthly cheque due to an insufficient amount of personal sales.

How much will you get paid?
Having satisfied yourself that you’re getting paid for moving a genuine product or service, you can now focus on how much you’ll be earning. Obviously you want to make as much as you can - but how much is enough will depend upon the type of product you’re going to be marketing.

If you’re selling relatively high price items and getting paid for the sale alone, then you will want a fairly high percentage as commission. A minimum of 25% would be reasonable and 50% is not out of the question for some types of product.

If, on the other hand, you’re promoting something which will bring you a genuine residual income month after month then you might be happier to settle for a reasonable signup bonus followed by a relatively small percentage of the monthly fee thereafter. If you’re confident that you offer a good value product that people will continue to use month after month, year in, year out, then you can accept a much lower percentage of the takings. In the long run you will make more money per customer and you may also find it easier to get customers who have to shell out a relatively small amount of money up front followed by ongoing monthly rental or leasing fees.

When you start in your network marketing business, most of your earnings will be as a result of your own efforts. However, later on, as you build your team, your personal earnings will be outstripped by the income you will make from your team’s sales. So you should also make sure that you know how much profit you will be able to make from the efforts of your downline members. What percentage of their sales will you make and how deep (how many levels down) will this be paid out on?

When will you get paid?
You should get paid pretty quickly after the customer has paid the company you′re working with. Payment processing on the internet is very rapid and you should be paid once a month, no more than a month in arrears. After all, the idea is to supplement or replace your monthly salary - isn’t it?

How will you get paid?
In an ideal world, you should receive your monthly commission directly into your bank account (via PayPal perhaps), paid in your local currency. If this isn’t possible, payment in dollars
is the next best thing.

Focus on the fundamentals and don’t be distracted by the complexities of the pay plan. You’ll avoid disappointment and might just find the ideal business for you.

3 Things You Must Have In Order To Profit From Your Hobby

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Did you know that over 70% of people who responded to a recent survey said that they were thinking about starting a business of some sort?

The problem for many of them was that they didn’t really know where to start and how to take their dream and turn it into something tangible.

Here we’ll look at 3 things that you absolutely need if you are to have any chance of profiting from your hobby.

#1 – A Positive Attitude

By far your biggest asset in turning your favorite hobby into a thriving business is a positive attitude. I think it was Harry F. Banks who said, “Attitude determines your altitude”.

If you are going to pursue your dream and make it a reality, you must have a positive attitude and the willingness to commit to what it takes to make it happen.

So many people start out on the road to turning their hobby into a business, and then at the first sign of an obstacle, they give up, often just before they start to see results.

A positive attitude will help you to break through the barriers and temporary setbacks and reach your desired goal.

#2 – The Determination To Succeed

Many people who fall in love with the idea of turning their hobby into a business are looking for an easy way out and at the first problem, they give up and let circumstances crush their dreams.

By developing a fierce determination to succeed, your chances of creating a profitable business are infinitely higher and you are virtually setting yourself up for success.

While there are not guarantees that you will eventually make it, having the determination to push on regardless of minor problems and find solutions is the mark of a true winner.

Determination and a positive attitude can work together to help a dedicated person succeed where others have failed

#3 – A Proven System

The final and some would say most important thing you’ll need is a proven system for marketing your products and/or services.

You need a step by step process that you can follow to ensure your success something that other’s have used successfully to achieve the same goal you have.

It’s no use having an incredibly positive attitude and loads of determination if you choose a system that’s flawed and never had a chance of working in the first place.

Look for proof that other people have followed any system you are considering and become successful.

Don’t ever take the promoter’s word that it will work for you…demand unquestionable PROOF that many people, from all walks of life, have been able to use what he is offering to turn their hobby or passion into a profitable business.

When it comes to the system, results are the only thing that matters…

Rocky Tapscott is the author a free 7 Part Mini Course How To Build The Perfect Home Based Business Around Your Favorite Hobby, Pastime, Sport Or Skill which uses 6 real life case studies to show how others have used a proven system to build profitable businesses around their favorite hobby.

Can You Honestly Make Money Online Within 24 Hrs?

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

If your like most newbie internet marketers, your buying ebook after ebook or program jumping from one program to the next looking for that magic opportunity that will just give you money instantly. However, the harsh reality is that there are no free rides, no matter what anyone promises. As with any job or money making idea, there is always some work that is involved.

Many MLM programs promise instant riches just by signing up. However, upon
signing up, you get the true reality that you have to refer so many people to the organization
to even be eligible for your first payout. Not to mention that you have to refer a lot more than that just to cover your monthly fees.

Or you have other programs that promise you can receive payments of 1,000 or more per
day beginning now, its that easy. Ever heard that one before?

I’m sure we all have. But the sad and harsh reality is, newbies don’t make that kind of
money day 1. And if there is a testimonial of one Newbie making thousands their first day,
they fail to leave out the part where they have been involved in internet marketing for 2 or
more years where they failed miserably and they just started a new program and got lucky
with it.

Yes, it may be true that they earned a lot of money in that program from day 1, but there are probably thousands of others who crashed and burned in the program compared to the few
success stories.

Now I may sound cynical about making money on the internet, however I don′t feel this way about
all programs on the internet. Take Affiliate marketing for example. Yes, there are a fair share
of programs out there that claim you can make thousands from day 1 as well, however, if you follow
the tips in certain guides, if you did your research and bought a good reputable affiliate marketing
guide, you can truly make money from day 1. The norm is you won′t make thousands from day 1, but with affiliate marketing at least you have a trial and error period and the more learning and
creative you get with your ads, you can easily make some good money.

Simply put, I don’t like the way some programs make false dreams and hopes for those who
are looking to make honest money on the internet. Some people just need or want some extra cash in order to take that family vacation, or pay down some of their outstanding credit card debt,
which anyone can understand and I hate how programs take advantage of people in this way.

I myself have not been involved in internet marketing for very long, but have learned the fast and
hard way of these false hopes and promises that programs have laid out. I have spent thousands
of dollars on the internet with very little to show for it. However, through my trial and errors,
I have been able to eliminate programs that do not work and focus my efforts on stable programs
that offer realistic opportunities in order to grow my internet business.

Any newbie entering the online world should be very wary about diving into any get rich program
or opportunity that offers so much with little work. Trust me, been there and done that, and it is not
a road that you want to go down. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And before jumping into programs with credit card in hand, try taking some time and researching the program on google your yahoo, you may be interested in some reviews others have written up about those programs which may help you slow down and think twice. Always Remember; Think Twice!

Create a Business You Love

Monday, September 29th, 2008

So you have entrepreneurial aspirations, but you’re stuck in a job working for someone else. You wake up, commute to work, work hard, pay your bills and then come home exhausted. You repeat the pattern for another four days, becoming increasingly tired as the week progresses. By the time Friday night comes around you are absolutely shattered requiring every second of your weekend just to recover! And just as you start to feel as if you have your life back, your alarm clock goes off on Monday morning, you drag your feet out of bed and you repeat the cycle. Does this scenario sound all too familiar? Is this the way you want to spend the rest of your working life?

Controlling your thoughts.

So how do you start to break this monotonous existence? You do so with a single thought. It is said that each one of us has 60,000 thoughts a day, 55,000 of which were exactly the same thoughts as we had yesterday. So I am going to place a simple thought in your mind right now;

“ You have the potential to create a profitable business that you are truly passionate about, that fulfils you creatively and that delivers a lot of good in the world. “

If that message resonates with you, you may like to re-read it and hold the thought in your mind for a second time. Really try and experience the meaning in this message. Not just intellectually but emotionally as well. You may also like re-think this thought again tomorrow. And if it feels good tomorrow, you may like to add it to your habitual thoughts.

Give your new thought some support.

Once you have held the thought of running your own business in your own mind and you are comfortable with it, you need to start expanding the dynamics of the thought. Ask yourself the following questions

· What sort of business would you like to run?

· Would it be a full time business or just a part time one?

· What would you call it?

· How much time would you like to devote to it?

· Who would be your target market?

· Who can you get involved to help you get it started?

Take some action.

Once you have a few answers for the questions above, you’ve got to take some action straight away! Start off small. Get some business cards printed up (vistaprint.co.uk will give you 250 colour business cards for free!) and you may also like to register a web site domain name (you can register web names from as little as £2.59 per year through 123-reg.com). Once you’ve got the ball rolling you can start thinking about the bigger action steps that you will need to take.

Seek out other business people.

Take a look at your social network. If all your friends and family are employees, chance are any conversations about work will be about the 9-5 grind. If this is the case, start adding a few small business people to your social network. Buy them lunch, ask them questions about how they started out in business. I am sure that you will find plenty of inspiration as well as some words of advice about how to run a business. You may also like to consider joining up with groups so you can network with like minded individuals (Toastmasters is excellent start and for online Networking check out ecademy.com)

The most important consideration.

One of the most important things to consider when setting up a business is to choose a business that you are passionate about. There are so many different ways you can make money so you might as well do something that excites you.

Can any Tom, Dick and Harry Start A Home Business?

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

First, my apologies to who ever is offended by the title of this article on home business.

Okay back to the question. Can every Tom, Dick and Harry start a home business?
I know you may have a different view from mine. But let me first tell you that just like a candle lights up a room, this article was written with the intention of providing some light on home business.

So my answer is that “YES” every one can start a home business. It does not matter where you are from or your level of education. Every Tom, Dick and Harry can start a home business.

BUT, not every Tom, Dick and Harry will maintain and grow a home business. This is where many people fail.

What do you need to maintain a home business? You will need to have qualities for home business oriented people.
Below are some of these qualities that will help you to maintain and grow your home business:

1-Home business people are careful about money.
They always know how much money they have. They know the value and cost of things so they can recognize a real bargain. That is why they can maintain their home business.

2-Most home business entrepreneurs earned money when they were teenagers— babysitting, mowing lawns, delivering newspapers, sacking groceries etc. They got their patience from here that helps then grow their home business.

3- home business people are competitive by nature.
Many were active in sports and other competitions in high school and college. Others were competitive in wanting to make good grades, earn the respect of their parents and teachers and achieve their goals. This quality is very important in a home business.

4- Home business owner believe in the old adage, “the early bird gets the worm.” They sleep and eat enough to maintain their energy levels but they don’t usually linger over non-productive tasks. This helps them focus important energy on growing their home business.

5- Successful home business people are risk-takers who trust their hunches and act on them. Taking risks can be small first steps, like placing your first ad in a mail-order publication. Without this quality, you may not even be able to start a home business, let alone growing a home business.

6-They have a “head for home business.
“They are always thinking of new ideas and new ways to make money or increase their home business. They are not afraid to put these ideas to use.

7-Home business entrepreneurs are usually loners rather than joiners.
That’s one reason why the home business, mail-order business is so appealing to many entrepreneurs. They prefer a solitary work environment (home business)

8- Successful home business are usually honourable people.
They do business based on a handshake or a promise. They tend to form strong associations with others who share this work ethic.

9- Home business people do set aside time for leisure activities and family. Their principal form of relaxation is their work, but they do realize the importance of downtime and spend time with their family.

10- Home business people don’t retire. They may sell or change their business, thinking they will retire, but they always jump back in with a new project or get a new idea that they just can’t ignore.

11-Successful home business is professionals. Whether working from their bedroom, the kitchen table or a modern, well-appointed home office, they operate just as they would if they were in an expensive office building in a major city. When they are working, they don’t let outside influences distract them.

In general, successful home business is people who have high energy; feel self-confident, set long-term goals, and view money and financial security as a measure of accomplishment and piece of mind. They persist in problem solving, take risks, learn from failures (their own and from others), take the initiative, accept personal responsibility and use all available resources to achieve their success. Successful home business people compete with themselves and believe that success or failure lies within their personal control or influence

Well, I hope this article will benefit who ever wants to start a home business.

Just keep in mind that every one can start a home business, but what differentiates between the successful home business owners and the failures are as out lined above.
Take care.

Finding a Good MLM Mailing List

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

There are a variety of methods for coming up with leads for your MLM business. The end result of many, though, is an MLM Mailing list. A good list will provide you with names and either physical addresses or email addresses for people who are interested in MLM business opportunities. There are some, though, that are not as good. You really have to be cautious when selecting a list to mail your offer to.

A word of caution about MLM mailing lists to begin. Beware of using unscrubbed address lists that may provide you with addresses to which you can send information or advertisements. The truth is that many of these will include people who have never shown any interest in MLM. Similarly, keep an eye out for email address MLM mailing lists that have been obtained without permission of the email recipients. In that case, there can be very real consequences for you. If your MLM mailing list is not clean, you can be accused of spamming which is a crime. Yes, laws have now been passed making spamming a crime. You do not need to spam a list in order to present your offer to the most potential clients.

So what is a good MLM mailing list? Usually it will come from a legitimate MLM business that offers the service of producing lists. They may come from opt in online questionnaires or website sign up forms. When you get a good list, you will receive one where everyone on it has requested information on MLM, home business, earning extra money, or second income. Not only is that type of MLM mailing list legal, but it is also much more useful than an illegal list. You will gain many more leads from a legitamite list anyways and you do not need to run afoul of the law.

Putting together a good list of potential partners and recruits is a big part of success in MLM. There are a number of on and offline ways to do that. In the end, though, you likely will end up with a good and legal MLM mailing list. The important thing is to be cautious about where you get your list, how it was put together, and whether or not it is a true lead list. An MLM mailing list that is not full of real prospects doesn’t do you any good at all and may cause more problems for you.
