Taking The Plunge: Starting Your First Home Based Business

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Peter and Heidi Wonson needed capitol to finance their future. With their third child due, an addition to their home scheduled to begin, and Peter’s paycheck as their only source of income, they took the leap. They started a home-based business marketing tutus and dance wear for little girls on the Internet. Here is their story.

Spring, 2005 Peter Wonson is nervous, the next six months promise to be very exiting. In the near future, the plans that have been assembled and laid out over the winter will be executed. Here is the list, June 2 a major knee operation, early July the birth of his third child, and in August an addition on the house to accommodate their new arrival. The Wonson’s home had accumulated a lot of equity in the previous six years and the bank was more than happy to provide the young couple with a generous line of credit to finance the addition. What concerned both Peter and Heidi was how to pay the bank back after they spent the money.

In April, Peter responded to an email promising wealth beyond your dreams, what caught his attention was that Robert Allen and the person who authored Chicken Soup for The Soul sponsored the advertisement. This email promoted a system to buy and sell real estate for profit. Peter bought the course, read the materials and thought to himself that this was something he could do. At the end of the course they offered more information, “just call this number and we will put you on the path to riches”. Needless to say, Peter called the number. This series of events led to a conference call, on this call were Peter, Heidi, and a representative of Prosper Learning, an outfit based in Utah that coaches people on wealth building propositions.

This call went in a direction that Peter did not anticipate. He had prepared Heidi for a call about getting into the real estate business. During the call the Prosper agent brought up the idea of Internet marketing, this subject excited Heidi who was only luke warm to the real estate proposition. Heidi had a background in computers and the Internet and their future took a turn.

With an initial investment of close to eight thousand dollars and the promise that they would put in at least twenty hours week toward their new venture the Wonson’s began their journey. The eight thousand dollars purchased them ten tutorials with a coach, a web site designed to their specifications and hosting of that web site for one year. It also gave them access to the Prosper Learning web site where all sorts of information concerning starting and marketing an Internet business can be found.

Peter and Heidi followed the program, took the steps that their business coach outlined for them and are now the proud owners of tutuboutique.com/ the future of this venture is still unknown. It is producing enough income to pay back the loan from which it originated; will it generate enough to pay for the addition on the Wonson’s home? Will it generate enough money to fund college educations? To early to tell, the process did teach Heidi and Peter some valuable lessons. They learned to work together, to follow thru, and that they can determine their own future.

Peter and Heidi agonized over the decision to take the step into the unknown. There are opportunities out there in the world waiting to be discovered. To discover these opportunities there needs to be a leap, a leap of faith.

Peter Wonson graduated from Norwich University in 1992 with a B.A. in History. He is the General Manager of General Environmental Services, Inc. a full service Integrated Pest Management company his father founded in 1979. Peter serves as the Treasurer of the New England Pest Management Association. He and his wife Heidi live in Ipswich, Ma with their three children and two dogs. They are the owners of The Old Blue House, Inc. dba tutuboutique.com/ tutuboutique.com/

Network Marketing Strategies

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

Network marketing like any other business needs a system to flourish. The greater the adherence to the system, the greater is the scope to succeed. Strategy acts as a basis of a marketing design.

A marketing scheme is an amalgamation of certain actions essential for properly putting into action a particular marketing strategy. Without an effective marketing strategy, a marketing plan is of little significance.

The right approach is the key in network marketing, and the authority that others are permitted to exercise is also a winning strategy. The expansion of an enormous communication structure with people in the upline and a core team is the basic ingredient of a networking system.

An impressive marketing strategy must efficiently combine an organization’s marketing aims and guidelines into a harmonious entity. The basic aim of a marketing strategy is to furnish a platform from which an effective scheme is formulated. This enables an organization to execute its goal in an effective and smooth manner.

Major companies involved in networking marketing mechanism have significantly boosted their sales with the help of a strategy that falls in line with the organizations ambition.

The lure of commission that drives the distributor who buys the product and resells them to end-users is often considered as a clever aspect of the marketing strategy.

As the network grows with the help of distributors and corresponding new recruits, the product is marketed down the line in a significant manner. The secret to converting visions into profits is regimented product marketing. However, it is imperative to remember that proper focus should be maintained to ensure that products reach the target in a timely manner. Also, the product should be moderately priced in a bid to attract prospective distributors and subsequent recruits, thereby allowing the network to develop into a strong entity.

Legalities & Contracts — The Not So Fun Stuff!

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

This year has been my most eye-opening year when it comes to the legalities of running a business. In 2005, I will celebrate 20 years in business. I believe up until now I just sailed though when it came to the legal aspects. Oh yes, I did everything the best I could. Don′t get me wrong and I did most things right. But this year it seemed to all hit. This year I learned the importance of “protecting my business” and this year I learned the true meaning of a “contract.” I learned the importance of realizing that it’s a business and I need to run it as such in all I do.

Contracts - Those all important contracts. If you′ve read my books on starting a business you know I always say, “Get those contracts signed by the clients before the inception of work.” I firmly believe this and stand by it. In fact, I do it 98% of the time, it’s that 2% that got me this year. It was that client who said, “You have to produce the work first. We need to approve and accept it.” Has this ever happened to you? It did me.

Even as an experienced veteran I fell for it. Attorneys fees I could ill afford, tons of work and long long hours spent, a big, “You should know better.” from everyone later. The lesson learned is once they get your product, they hold the Ace card. Keep that in mind. You lose the upper hand, the edge you had, once you deliver the work to the client. Trust me on this … before you start a project get it signed, sealed and delivered-the contract that is. The good news is I finally did get my contract. But, the aggravation could have been avoided had I done it right the first time.

What about this scenario? You sign a contract only to discover that the project is not what it appeared to be. Something goes drastically wrong and you realize that you need to make chances to the way things are being done. Have you covered yourself adequately for most occurrences or for the unexpected? Your contract just seems like a formality that needs to be completed when signing on a new client. However, when something goes wrong that contract turns into your “BEST FRIEND!”

Designing a Contract - When I first design a contract, I do the research myself initially. You can find the tools you need on www.nolo.com, Google and the topic, and books and message boards. I do a very thorough search ad extensive research first. Then I write the contract to include everything I need. Think three years from now. Think the worse case scenario. I really don’t want to sound pessimistic here, but if you do, you will be protected for all cases. If you have covered yourself for the worse, then you have yourself covered for the best as well.

However, with that said, don′t go overboard. You don′t need to add everything or your points will get lost. Your clients won′t want to read through it either. For example, I just reviewed someone’s 15-page contract that was so outrageous boring I could hardly make it though. It had so much legalese and repetitive language, that everything she wanted to state was totally non-existent. You want your points to stand out. You want them to understand what you are saying.

If at all possible, get your contracts and legal documents reviewed by an attorney and let a professional be the one to look over it and see what you are missing. Yes, it’s an expense, but a worthwhile one. On my site, virtualwordpublishing.com, I offer experts that I feel could help you.

With solids contracts in hand you and your business will be secure and you will be free to do what you do best, make money.

How To Avoid Being Scammed With Work From Home Offers

Saturday, May 31st, 2008

You’ve seen plenty of those ads allowing you to work at home without any fees. While a lot of these ads are scams that lead people into a dead end opportunity with expensive hidden costs and fees, there are some legitimate offers out there.

Working from home is one of the strongest desires for most people these days and scam-artists know how to exploit this dream and make you part with your money. You can be your own boss, work part-time or full-time, it’s up to you. You don’t have to worry about a dress code, you can get up late and work a few hours, take off for lunch and decide if you want to work some more or not. These are all powerful lures that are used to pull someone into a program that leads to nowhere except lost money, time and trust.

So… how can you separate the good offers from the bad?

First you need to listen to your intuition. If you’re thinking something “sounds too good to be true,” it probably is.

After reading something, take the time to allow it to digest for a day or so. A lot of ads are written so they make it seem as if you’re missing out on an opportunity if you don’t do something now. This is a classic marketing technique used to motivate people into taking action because it’s human nature to be a bit lazy.

Visit the website and make sure there is a way to get in contact with someone to have your questions answered. Then start asking questions, a lot of them. You can sometimes get a feeling for whether someone is answering legitimate questions or if they’re making stuff up as they go along. If they keep skirting the questions, then it’s probably not a legitimate offer.

A legitimate work from home offer without fees will answer all your questions up front and give you policies in writing. A scam artist keeps promising things but never fully discloses what is actually involved.

Visit work at home forums and start asking questions about the program in question. You can also do a Google search on the program name “scam” or the program name “review” to see if there are any complaints.

Keep in mind there are some people who are looking for others to blame their misfortunes on. They decide to try something, don’t put in any effort it but expect to make money from it. When there’s no money made, they’re usually the first to post scathing comments to forums that something is a scam. Because of this, you will always be able to find negative reviews of any company. What you’re really looking for is a pattern. Are the majority of reviews negative or are they mostly positive with a few negatives? Again common sense should dictate.

By following these steps, you should be able to avoid a lot of the work from home scam offers. Remember, it’s mostly common sense, but when people are desperate to find a way to make money, common sense is usually the first thing to go out the window.

I wish you success,

James Olivio
I finally found a legitimate work from home opportunity!
It’s not a get-rich-quick program, but it allows me to make steady money every month.

MLM Training Tip - Mentoring Leaders to Success

Friday, May 30th, 2008

As network marketers, don’t we all want a large organization made up of successful and productive team leaders? Mentoring our downline in order to effectively create leaders who can take care of their own groups is the only way to build a large, massive organization.

What is the difference between distributors and leaders?

Distributors are only temporary in any organization. Sometimes they work hard and build downlines, or they may chose to simply be a wholesale user of the product. Eventually, they may even quit. Distributors are going to take what they want and then get on with their lives, but leaders are going to stay with you and your business for a long time.

Having a lot of distributors may create a good bonus check, but they will have to continuously be replaced as time goes on. Over time, replacing these individuals could become a full time job, diverting you from your primary purpose of building a large, profitable, high retention organization.

Are you a leader?

Network marketing success is built on good relationships and leaders know that in order to be effective they must understand how to connect with people and get them to know and trust you. Leaders know that building relationships takes time and effort, but it’s a worthwhile investment in the future of the entire team’s success.

Regular communication with your team members is essential. A good upline leader knows that regular communication shows the commitment they have to their downline’s success. It also shows and mentors them in how to effectively communicate and relate to their own downline.

Leaders listen to people and really hear what they say about what’s important to them and what their goals are. They know that if they can discover what motivates their downline, they can help them to achieve their goals.

All of these qualities produce actions that are essential for creating a line of effective leadership in order to keep the process of duplication in motion.

What is duplication?

As any leader knows, any company is ultimately a reflection of its leadership, and network marketing is more about leadership than it is about anything else. Duplication is the ability to lead by example and teach your downline to replicate the same methods you use for success and, in turn, be able to pass that knowledge on to their own team.

It’s really very simple - people, helping people, helping people. As a result, you will start to see growth in your group that you had absolutely nothing to do with.

Build People. People will build your business. Your first commitment must be to your people, not to personal profit. Network marketing is a teaching and mentoring business. The key is to work with your team and give them the training they need to become successful in order to keep from having to rebuild your downline time and time again.

Do you have a mentor?

You must have a mentor to be a mentor. Everyone in network marketing should have a mentor - someone who has already learned valuable lessons from trial and error and can pass that knowledge along to you. Someone who can say, “Been there, done that, got the t-shirt,” without you having to do their laundry!

Duplicating a proven method for success is the only way to assure an organization that is made up of successful and productive team leaders, and it all starts with your own effective leadership. Be a mentor with a servant’s heart!

Celestine Prophesy: How To Know When The Right Business Has Crossed Your Path

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Coincidence, accident or fate? Well if you have ever read the Celestine Prophesy, by James Redfield your view of events was likely forever changed.

Ever felt like speaking with someone, or seeing someone, and within a few days of that thought, either received a phone call or bumped into them somewhere?

How many times in you life have you felt that you didn’t necessarily have complete control of a situation? How about traumatized by a situation that ended up being one of the best things that ever happened to you?

Fate or Faith…..they can almost be construed as the same thing.

I have had a few personal experiences to confirm this theory. My attraction to first boys, and then men with blue eyes and dark lashes always intrigued me. I wondered if it had something to do with the expression, “The eyes are the window to the soul”.

Regardless of my attraction, almost pull to this physical feature, I married a man with green eyes and lovely brown lashes.

The man that I married, I met on a blind date who mutual friends had been trying to “set us up” for a few years.
Timing is critical in many situations, and was important in the first date with my husband.

I love our two children with a passion. Our children just happen to have clear, brilliant blue eyes and dark lashes. Coincidence?

My second strange experience I would like to share with you, is about our family pet. She is a lovely and large, female black lab. whom we christened Serendipity, or Dippy for short. This name reflects on the way in which she crossed our path.

I have to retrace my steps slightly to explain the significance of our dog.

Three years before Dippy found us, our then family dog, Bungy, developed sudden and massive kidney failure. The cause was never discovered. It was a horrible, painful and isolating illness. Finally after days of treatment and tests the decision was made to let him go, gracefully.

While holding Bungy in my arms and my heart breaking, I told him what a unique and special dog he had been. I asked him to come back and find me, not knowing for sure where he was going. The veterinarian dispensed the medication to euthanize him.
I don’t know how to explain what happened, except that I could feel him leave.

Knowing what I had felt with conviction, I stated to the vet that Bungy had left us. He assumed that I was asking for confirmation and did just that.

As the years passed I longed for another dog, but couldn’t bring myself to actively search for one.

My response was always the same,” When the right dog comes along, I’ll know”. I didn’t expect her to come and sit on our doorstep and refuse to leave, but that is exactly what happened. We phoned and looked for her owner, but never found one. She had a collar but no tags. Her name is now Dippy.

Do I think this was a coincidence? Not on your life.

Bungy had a strange fleck in one of his eyes and yup…you guessed it…so does Dippy. Strange but true…or maybe I am just strange!!!

Sometimes letting go, and going with the flow of life, is the best decision to take.

Within the past year I have been introduced to a health product, which I absolutely believe, for several reasons, was meant to.

It meets a variety of criteria, lifeskills and desires in my life and the timing for this crossing is crucial.

The wonderful thing is that not only will it change my life and already has, but it is helping people to health, wellness and abundance.
Health and helping others has been a life calling for me.
Follow your heart, trust your intuition and trust in ……..

Hocus Pocus…You’re A Millionaire

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Have you had a look lately at the different number of ways to make money on the internet? Where do you think the largest chunk of advertising to small online businesses is being focused? Ironically enough it is online marketing itself!

The majority of advertisements on the internet today are geared at trying to help people make money online. From joining different types of forced marketing matrices to programs that exist solely to have you make money by signing others up into the program. You make money if people below you stay in the program, and the people below them, etc., and so forth. Does it not seem that small business internet marketing has taken somewhat of a socialist-communistic swing?

Small business entrepreneurs, operating by themselves, selling a highly beneficial product, are only a small piece of the internet marketing pie. Low and behold though, they are the ones that ultimately make the real profits.

The most luring programs today are still MLM. They prey on the whim that “hey, if I get in on this now I can potentially make a reasonable supplement to my current income”. The problem with MLM is that unless you come into the program near the top, when it is first released, it is so saturated that both your time and money is burned without a penny made.

Recently, a huge number of MLM programs have surfaced that claim to build you a highly targeted opt-in list of subscribers that will “actually pay you to be on your list”. As it is well known that a subscriber list is the way to success on the internet marketing scene, creators of these programs have opened up a feading frenzy for the hungry dying to take a bite towards increased financial freedom. Unfortunately this is another whif of magic.

Imagine this: everyone on your list is now part of the same program, trying to make money through internet marketing. So, although you now have your list, it is practically worthless because everyone is trying to sell the same things to each other. All that has been created is a fee-based safe list. Its as if you are only trying to do business with your competitors.

The only real way to finacial freedom through internet marketing is to find people who are looking for certain goods and supply them with what they need. This could be through your own product development and design, or through affiliate programs. Beware though that many people are affiliate marketers, and you thus must find a niche relatively untouched by the masses.

If you have a look at the people who are really succeeding through online businesses, all the way to the point of making it a full time high paying job, they have all found a niche and can deliver to people time and again exactly what they want. Its not easy, and this is why only a few really reach this stage. So, remember, kick the magician out in the streets and do away with hocus pocus. To really succeed you need time, thought and perserverance. Time and thought to learn and come up the right ideas, and perserverance to act and see your ideas through to the end.

Can A Busy Mom Actually Run A Successful Online Business?

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Homework, practices, Dr. Appointments, diapers, food splattered on every wall in the house…It’s true that a mother’s work is never done. Many mothers are so busy that they only average about six hours of sleep each night. That leaves an entire 18 hours of non-stop work every single day. With our days already so full, why is it that many of us also desire to run a home-based business on top of everything else?

I don’t know about all of the other mothers out there, but I know why I have always wanted to run my own business. The main reason is because I have always pictured myself in a certain situation, and it was never an environment where someone else was telling me what to do. For some reason, I just always knew I would be my own boss.

My other reason is simple. Money. Nowadays everyone needs more money. Two-parent families need both parents to work and single parents are finding themselves working a full-time job and a part-time job just to survive. Unfortunately, things aren’t exactly looking up, either.

I think one of the top reasons so many other mothers are looking to work from home is also because of the money. They definately don’t want to have to go back into “the real world″ to work, but they need more money, so working from home is the only other option. Too bad it isn’t as easy to do as it sounds.

In my experience it was extremely difficult to find the time necessary to learn a new business, entirely from scratch. It wasn’t just because of all of my other responsibilities, either. My family was not very supportive.

My husband worked a full-time job with alot of overtime, so the last thing he wanted to do after he got home from work was take care of 4 kids and stare at the back of my head! Plus, all of my other family just couldn′t comprehend where I was coming from. To them, it was insane for me to spend so much time at my desk, while the kids tore the house apart.

But basically, they all had the same problem. They weren’t seeing any money!

It’s hard for those who don’t have our same vision to understand us. They wonder how we can put so much effort into something, for ‘nothing.’

But, I assure you, it’s not for nothing. Eventually, all of that hard work pays off. And when it does, you won′t believe how surprisingly helpful people will become.

The first time I made just $50 two days in a row my husband became a completely different person. All of a sudden he was seeing dollar signs and thinking about what he was going to buy! Before I knew it, he was more than happy to do dinner dishes and wash some clothes and bath the kids and get their snack and put them to bed. And it didn′t stop there! My two oldest kids started offering to look after the 2 younger ones so I could “work.” Imagine that - all of a sudden I was working!

So, can a busy mom actually run a successful online business? Absolutely! It’s just getting to the point where others see that you’re running an actual business that’s difficult!!

*Don’t give up, moms! Fight your way to the top…

MLM Training: Techniques for Turning Prospects from Cold to HOT

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

In this article I’m going to explain how to follow-up or follow through after you have invited your MLM prospect to look at either your network marketing business or your product. This is the final step of the Inviting Formula, the formula I successfully use to get prospects to take a look at my MLM Business.

The Inviting Formula is:
Greet
Qualify
Invite
Handle any Questions/Objections
Close to Action
Follow-up or Follow-through

The purpose of the Follow-Up is to re-contact your prospect and move him/her towards what they’ve stated they need, want or don’t want and it pertains to your network marketing business or product.

The purpose of the Follow-Through is when your prospect indicates readiness to act (join, enroll, sign-up in your MLM business) then you follow-through by delivering all they need to get what they’ve stated they need, want or don’t want. This can start with completing simple distributor agreements, getting products, signing them up for services and then moving on to provide them with MLM training.

Your ability to be effective at Follow-up, and get people signed up in your network marketing organization, depends on the previous step of the Inviting Formula - Close to Action. When you close your prospect to action, they agree to do some things, and you agree to do some things. One of which was to re-contact them at a scheduled time.

Do that.

That’s follow up.

You may need to follow-up or re-contact your prospect several times to get them to the stage where you follow-through with them.

I’m not going to pretend this is fun. It most certainly is not. But, it is a requirement to your success in network marketing.

I′ve identified three main areas about follow-up that need to be understood in order to be successful at it…and therefore successful in network marketing.

1. Close to action well, and you’re follow-ups will work out a lot better.

2. Do…follow-up. Most don’t, that’s why most don’t succeed.

3. It’s not you. I know that doesn′t make an ounce of sense - but read on and it will.

So let’s just picture a typical MLM prospecting scenario.

Mr. MLM Business Prospect has this need/want. For this discussion I’m going to say he needs money to pay down his debts and get some “breathing room.” I could interchange time or anything else here, but for this discussion I’m going to use money.

So Mr. MLM Business Prospect is very, very worried about his credit card bills. He’s gotten himself in over his head. There was a time when he didn’t have credit card bills. He could pay off the credit card the same month the charges came in. Then he charged something that required two or three months to pay it off. He used a little bit of discipline and reduced his expenses in other areas and with pride he sent in the payment and paid it all off.

And at some point he sunk too deep and wasn’t able to pay it off in a month or two. He’s been in debt for years. But Mr. MLM Business Prospect has pride. He is completely convinced he will pay it off. So convinced he starts erecting “walls of determination.”

“I will not spend any money on anything I don’t need!”

“Alright family, we need to tighten down on spending money.”

“We can’t afford that.”

“Honey, can we go to the movies tonight?” “GOOD GRIEF - can’t you see WE CAN’T SPEND ANY MORE MONEY!”

A post card hits his mailbox about making money from home. He calls and leaves a message. “I’m just curious…” he states on your message machine. You call him back. You do a good greeting and qualify. He doesn’t express all the above - he’s got pride. He wraps it all up in a tiny statement like - “Just looking to make some extra cash.”

The whole time you′re talking he’s got one thing on his mind…”What’s this going to cost me?” If it costs anything he’s going to put that wall of determination between you and him. This “what does it cost” question doesn’t come up because you′re moving right through the Inviting Formula. You conclude that he does in fact qualify as a prospect for your MLM business and you invite him to look at an online movie. He agrees and you schedule a time to follow-up.

You call at the designated time - he doesn’t answer the phone and doesn’t return your phone call. You think it’s you. You think he’s turning you down. You think you need to go back to the drawing board because “this thing (your MLM business) isn’t working.”

Networker - Mr. MLM Business Prospect needs your help. He′s trapped himself behind his “WALL of determination!” You need to help him get around, under, through, over this wall…which requires you to continually follow-up with him. Don’t sit around looking at YOUR issues and dreaming up all kinds of stuff - it’s not you. Call the man back, call him again, call him again and keep calling till you reach him - hold his hand and walk him through HIS wall.

That’s what follow-up is all about. It’s definitely not the best part about your network marketing business, but it’s tje honorable thing to always do.

When thinking about…or dreading…”Doing the numbers,” remember that every “number″ is a human being. Help that human being and then follow-up is a lot easier, and you’ll be amazed at how your MLM business will continue to grow.

Are Make Money Scams Your Fault?

Make money failure?

If you toss a coin 100 times and it comes down

Match Your Abilities

You have heard that if you invent a better

Imagine that you sell your invention together with

They must be right. As with the coin toss 99

about expanding my business once it could make
money big time. I would set up a van, and drive
round the country businesses in Western Australia,
and make money refilling their cartridges each
week.

Or I might even be able to drive into the
parking lot of some local manufacturers who had
hundreds of inkjet printers operating, and refill
a couple of hundred cartridges before driving on
again. Think how I could make money then!

My main abilities are technical, which suited
refilling the cartridges.

My main lack of ability is in salesmanship. The
business failed. I only made a few hundred dollars
out of it over a period of several years.

Was the idea a scam? No. I am a bad salesman.
Others do make money this way, and very good money
too.

Translation: Next I bought a make money idea to
become a translator. This was great. I sailed
through my translator’s exams and joined two
professional organizations.

But the work didn’t come in. I didn’t make money.

It turns out that not all translation is equal to
make money. If you can translate from English into
the language of a new third-world market that
manufacturers want to open up you can make money –
large dollops of it. The manufacturers are happy
to help you to make money so that they can make
money in larger quantities.

However, if you translate into English as I do,
then the manufacturers are in the third-world
countries. That means that they can’t afford
quality translators. They will always go for the
cheapest work from their own country where slave-
labor fees are charged. It doesn’t matter that
English is not the native language of the
translator. The manufacturer can’t afford to help
you make money by going for quality.

I only made money of a few thousand dollars over
two years.

Make Money Scams
—————-

Of course, there are make money scams like the one
about getting money out of Nigeria. You can often
recognize this type of scam by

1.If it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

2.Money making scam merchants like it to be barely
legal. That way you won’t want to complain about
them to the authorities.

3.No work needed. If it needs no work to make
money, why do they want your help?

Make Money from Services
————————

In the examples I gave above I was trying to use
my services to make money.

You will almost always make some money - even if
you are a hopeless salesperson. The only trouble
is that you may make money that is too little to
interest the tax man. It is embarrassing when the
tax man returns your money with the comment that
it is a hobby not a business to make money!

But suppose that you are a brilliant salesperson.
In that case can’t you find better ways to make
money than working hard? OK suppose you are a
mediocre salesperson. You have found a service
where word of mouth soon brings you so much work
that there aren’t enough hours in the day for it.

That is the big problem. Why do you want to make
money? To get freedom? Then why are you working 70
hours a week on your business to make money? What
kind of freedom is that?

One way is to sell the business for a large sum of
money and then build another, and sell that to
make money.

Automated Income
—————-

This is the best way to make money. You don’t make
money with no work. It takes a lot of hard work to
set up the automation. But it is cumulative like a
rolled snowball. The hard work you do today will
make money for you tomorrow and next year and…

Grasp Opportunity
—————–

I had the chance recently to buy into a business
that needs my technical abilities and needs no
salesmanship to make money. I grabbed the chance.
You can’t get in - the offer was only open for 24
hours. If you are too skeptical then when
opportunity knocks you will miss your chance to
make money. Fortunately I already had experience
of working with the vendor, so my skepticism was
low.

How To Match Your Abilities With the Opportunity
———————————————–

It’s only logical. If you want to match the
opportunity to your abilities you want to have as
many opportunities to choose from as possible. So
I’ve gathered a range of articles by many authors.

Don’t be brainwashed by just one author, but
please, don’t ask for a refund just because a way
to make money doesn’t work for you. Unless it is a
scam like the one about helping to get hundreds of
millions of dollars out of Nigeria then the fault
is probably your own.

One man who became filthy rich from the internet
says that he expects 15 out of 16 of his projects
to fail. He starts banking his ongoing income from
the sixteenth project, then moves on to the next
sixteen.
