3 Ways To Make This Year Very Profitable With Your Home Business

Monday, March 31st, 2008

These are hands-down the best plan for making 2006 your most profitable year yet.

Key strategy #1:
Improve your sales process and convert more traffic into sales

Do you get regular traffic to your site? Once your visitors get to your site, how long do they stay? How many of them buy?

The best way to improve your sales process is to start by looking at your web site stats. These are a goldmine containing priceless nuggets of information, like how much traffic your site is getting, how people travel through your site, which pages are the most popular, and where your visitors are coming from.

By analyzing these stats, and looking at them alongside your sales figures and online promotions, you can work out things like what proportion of your traffic is being converted into sales, and which promotions or online campaigns are working better than others.

You′ll then find yourself with a much clearer picture of your business overall, and a good idea of what you need to change, improve, or build on.

If your web stats show good traffic levels but low sales figures, then you need to tighten up your sales process. Review both your salesletter and your order form — even just a few tweaks can make a HUGE difference.

Your salesletter: If people are leaving your web site from the sales page without clicking through to the order-form, then the salesletter is simply not doing its job in convincing visitors to buy your product or service.

In this case, it’s time for a salesletter tune-up. First stop — your headline. Make sure that it’s compelling, will resonate with your target market, and contains the main benefit of your product or service.

Then, ensure that your body copy builds your credibility, focuses on the BENEFITS (not the features) of your product or service, and includes testimonials and a strong guarantee.

Another quick fix is to make sure that your P.S. reinforces the main sales messages. (Remember, many people ONLY read the headline and P.S.)

And, of course, the call to action is very important in the sales process. It should state EXACTLY what you want the person to do next, how they can do it, and that you want them to do it NOW! It’s the bridge between the salesletter and the order form.

Your order form: If your web site stats show that people are abandoning your site at the order form stage without placing an order, then there may be something wrong with it. Is it too complicated? Does it have a different “look” from the rest of your web site? Are there links on the order page to other web sites or other pages on your site?

First, you must make sure that your order process and the form itself are easy to understand. To help people follow the process, provide a step-by-step guide that leads buyers through the ordering process, spelling out things like how to fill the form out, how the product will be shipped, when their credit card will be charged, and so on.

This could be on the order form itself — allowing a buyer to read it as they complete the relevant steps. The form itself should have a simple layout with all the information fields arranged in a logical, easy-to-follow sequence. Use the “KISS” principle — “Keep It Simple, Stupid!”

As far as possible, the order form page should have the same “look” as the rest of your web site. Keep it clear and uncluttered — there should never be other distractions on the page like images, irrelevant copy, advertising, or links to other sites that take the buyer away from your site. You want them to focus on filling out the relevant information.

It’s a good idea to reassure people that they are making a safe, secure purchase when they access your order form, by saying something like, “Welcome to our secure online order form.”

Key strategy #2:
Offer a “backend” product that’s an easy sell to your existing customers

Statistics show that 30% of your existing customers are guaranteed to buy from you again. It makes sense… you’ve already done a lot of the hard work establishing your credibility and proving that you run a reputable business that gives your customers what they want.

So, offering another “backend″ product to your existing customers can be a great way to boost your profits without eating into your marketing budget.

A backend product can be any one of a number of things. For example, if your site sells cameras, new products could include:

An add-on to your existing product, such as a new lens for a camera
A relevant information product, like an eBook containing photography tips
A complementary product, like a bag for the camera
… And so on. Sit down and come up with a list of products related to yours that you think your market might be interested in.

Remember that the key to finding any new product is to identify a problem that your customers have and then come up with a product or service that solves it for them. Always read and keep any feedback or comments you receive from your customers — positive and negative. You can also solicit feedback through a customer survey or questionnaire.

In addition, you should also be constantly assessing the needs of your target market by reading the publications that they read, and visiting the web sites, online forums, and blogs that they visit. And don′t forget to check out your competitors’ sites!

When you’ve found a suitable product, launching it to existing customers is easy. You already have their contact information, so you can simply e-mail them a promotion highlighting the problem they have, and explaining how your new product or service will solve it.

You can even use your customer feedback as a selling point, saying something like, “I’ve listened to feedback and comments from my customers, and can now offer you a product I just KNOW you’re going to love…”

Key strategy #3:
Set up an affiliate program to drive tons more traffic to your site and boost your sales

How would you like to have a network of other people to do your selling for you? Well, in a nutshell, that’s what an affiliate program is. An affiliate is someone who promotes your product on their web site in return for a commission on every sale that they send your way.

There are a number of reasons why you should consider this top-notch strategy for your business:

It can drive TONS more traffic to your site
There are ZERO advertising costs — affiliates do all of their own marketing
There is no risk to you, since you only pay your affiliates after they’ve made the sale
You gain exposure to new target markets through the e-mail lists and web sites of your affiliates

The fact is that affiliate programs are one of the most powerful ways to market online, and almost every product or service will be MUCH more successful if you offer an affiliate program for it.

You can find affiliates by putting a page on your web site inviting people to apply, and by approaching sites that you think have a similar target audience.

Starting and managing an affiliate program can be done one of two ways — you can go through a provider or do it yourself. Using a provider like Commission Junction or Linkshare can be very expensive, so it’s well worth looking into managing the program yourself.

If you do it yourself, affiliate software like AssocTRAC is available to manage the whole process, from tracking affiliate sales right through to paying commissions. An affiliate program is a highly effective strategy for generating swarms of new traffic and multiplying your sales — with minimal effort and cost on your part.

Final thoughts

It doesn’t matter whether you′re making $100,000 or $10,000 a year from your Internet business, or whether you sell kettles or sports cars — all three of these strategies will work for your business. I know, because I’ve used them all and continue to use them, and I can tell you in no uncertain terms that they work.

But they will always be even more effective if you spend some time every so often reviewing your business plan, setting new business goals, and taking a close look at your web stats and other areas of your business where you could make improvements.

Carrying out a regular business review in this way is just like giving your car a regular check-up — you just need to stick your head under the hood of your business now and then to make sure everything’s running smoothly.

And whether it’s adding some new parts or just making a few tweaks here and there, you can always find ways to make it run even better!

MLM Success - Imagine MLM Business Is Easy To Build

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Recently in a private online forum someone was very annoyed with me because I am too ambitious, how ridiculous. He complained that my will to make a lot of money in MLM is bad, that network marketing should be banned everywhere because it’s a pyramid scheme and should be considered illegal.

My answer to this gentleman was simple. In my reply I said “I joined MLM, he joined a pyramid scheme, they are two different things” I went to further explain why MLM pyramid is far better than traditional pyramid (you can read this in my previous article).

The statement that caught my attention most was when he replied, that in general, people have a bad opinion about MLM business. At first i weaken, then i thought “people”, who are they? the majority we see running around 8am every morning fighting the traffic? Then i thought “opinion” not fact… Is opinions not the cheapest commodities on earth? So why should i worry?

The statement got me thinking, but not about “people″ and their “opinions” but mainly about how many are the “majorities”; 80% of the population? 50%?, 30%? I started to think of how many people dislike MLM and would not consider taking a look even if that is their last means of surviving…

The truth is the number is high, possibly 70 - 80% of people will not get involved in this life changing business. High number of people really hate MLM, but that is not a bad news for MLM business builders. What do i mean? Well..

MLM distributors get paid high commission because we have to deal with these people daily. Our only motivation is the big checks that come through the post every month. Why should we worry about “people” that will not get involved in our business. The fact is that we should be very happy that majority dislike MLM, for if everyone is interested in building MLM business, then out high commission will jump out of the window.

MLM companies realise that distributors are faced with objections and rejections daily so in order to distributors continue in the business they will have to reward them massively. The best way to deal with objections and rejections is to make it your friend. Easier said than done, but once you have a state of mind that tells you that you get paid for taking many rejections and turning objections, you will prosper.

MLM business is not for everyone, but for those that stay, they achieve their dreams, create a better lifestyle, a better future for themselves and their children and are built for life because a successful MLMer will succeed at anything.

See you at the top.

Money Making Secrets to Work at Home

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Money making secrets to work at home, on the Internet; this is the dream of a huge amount of people worldwide. There are more than 500.000 monthly queries on the major search engines, only on the United States, for the phrase “work at home”.

The true fact is that most of the get rich schemes, earn a thousand dollars per day, get wealthy while asleep, become a millionaire investing one buck, make a fortune typing at home, find gold in the backyard, etc., are considered fluff, scam, hype or fake. The Internet audience gets overwhelmed, oppressed, by the huge amount of information there is on the net, making it difficult to take their decisions.

So the question is: Is it true that an ordinary person, with ordinary skills, with no start-up money, or at least not a lot of it, can make a living out of their work at home, online? The answer to this question is: YES. But the fact is there is no free lunch anywhere, no even in the Internet, the most powerful communications tool ever dreamed by human beings. There is always work involved, especially in the beginning of any online business. It is of critical importance to get advice, to know where to start, to have a guide for the necessary resources and techniques that are a must to start an online business, to develop a Web page, and to get traffic and sales.

The first thing people need to realize is that the virtual business world in the Internet is in no way any different than business in the real, offline world. A person or a company that sells good products or services, that has its goals settled in the long term and that is concerned in providing customer support during the sales process and after it, will be more likely to succeed in both the online an offline worlds.

So: what makes any different to work at home online than to do so offline? The answer is: the capability of communications. Working offline from home requires the use of a phone and an e-mail account. A seller needs to contact other people, and even go out to visit them in order to pursue the sale. The marvel or the Internet is its world wide reach to a huge amount of people: potential customers. And best of it, the possibility to automate, replicate and duplicate peoples and corporations efforts in order to increase revenues without growing costs. Once an online business is set and working, it can continue to do so with a lesser effort than an offline one.

But let’s go back to the original question: could it be done by an ordinary person? It can as long as this person, or group of persons starting a company, has the will, the determination and the persistence to do it. But first, where to start? The answer is as simple as in business offline. Start on finding out what is needed, or even better, what people will, what they want. Finding the product or the service people will like to buy is the first right step in the road to success in any business. What is great of the Internet is that all this information is available even for free. Once the Internet audience knows where and how to search about others needs, then it will be easier to select the product or service to be sold.

So, when somebody is surfing the Internet, and a very appealing sales letter comes up on the screen, the first question will be; what is the market need of the product or service offered? That is the first secret that has to be found. The rest of the secrets needed to work online are techniques, resources, useful links, and advice; but not the advice e-merchants want to sell. The Internet starter businessman needs honest, affordable, and straight to the point advice. This is especially important when is known that daily 67.000 new users get online in the Unites States alone. At this trend, there will be 76 million new users by the end of this decade. So, the market opportunities are huge, and so are the possibilities of getting scammed.

Thus, the last question is: where to get this honest, affordable, useful advice without paying a fortune for it? The public can go to the links below to find the answer directly from an Internet entrepreneur.

How to Make Money on the Internet Without Building a Website

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

There are various methods by which you can make money on the internet without building your own website. The following information provides an overview of three such methods.

For starters, you have the “free” websites which you see offered all over the World Wide Web (WWW). You see everywhere: grab your free website and start making money today! Of course, it is not as simple as all the hyped sales pieces would have you believe. But hey, it’s free and you have nothing to lose. Or, do you?

Another method is to purchase a site for a small set-up charge, and perhaps a monthly fee. Set-up charges and fees vary widely depending on the type of product or service the site will promote. For example, there are merchandise sites that you can get for a yearly fee of under $100 and no monthly charge. These sites allow you to offer anywhere from a few items to several thousand items of merchandise, and to determine your own percentage as a profit.

A third method by which you can make money on the internet without building your own website involves the use of videos. The theory is to create many videos and simultaneously host them on dozens of sites. Naturally, you must offer a good product or service in order to convert traffic (viewer ship) into sales.

And, you must make certain that your videos are not soon outdated. The good news is that you can find ways, or utilize services, to automate major portions of the creating, editing, and uploading process.

After all is said and done, any method you use to make money on the internet without building a website involves understanding a basic process.

Finally, believe it or not, there is also another process by which you put into practice what you have come to understand. Although this may sound far-out or difficult, it really is quite simple.

Best wishes, for a better success, starting today.

Your Failing In Network Marketing Is NOT Your Fault Part I

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Thousands of people use network marketing to build a home business. Unfortunately, it is well known that the failure rate in this business is over 90%.

There are many reasons for this, but the key one is that many network marketing companies do not have business models that support you as a distributor. As a result, the cards are stacked against you from the start.

Here are some compelling reasons why failing in network marketing is NOT your fault.

You know the story: you have done the training, did three-ways calls with prospects, purchased leads, attended the “rah rah” company events, etc. We could go on and on. The bottom line is that you STILL failed! You wonder, “What in the world is wrong with me? Why can’t I make it?”

The bottom line is you are failing because your network marketing company is not taking good care of you. It does not have a strong foundational model of integrity. None of this your fault!

Here is another point to consider. Have you ever noticed that some companies have huge multi-million home offices? You see this on many of the companies’ websites.

Have you ever thought about where the money comes from? In network marketing, money comes from the compensation plan. Companies don’t have multiple streams of income; they just have the compensation plan. Unfortunately, in spite of multi-million dollar home offices, the money does not come back to you in the compensation plan.

If this sounds bad, things go down hill even further. If a network marketing company has a huge home office, doesn’t it make sense that some sort of maintenance would be required? You know, things like a cleaning staff, upkeep for the grounds, electric bills, water bills, etc. How about workmen’s compensation, 401(k) s, vacation, sick, and family leaves? What about those bonuses and cost of living salaries? A company has to have this in place for its employees. Now, where is the money to fund all of this coming from? The compensation plan!

The sad truth is that you and other distributors will never use your network marketing company’s multi-million dollar building, BUT you still have to pay for it and the upkeep. That’s hardly fair at all.

Let’s give this further thought. With a company model such as we are discussing here, where do you think their model will go in the future? Will they have more or fewer expenses? If you yelled to yourself, “More Expenses!? you got it.

Here’s another thought. Have you ever wondered where your network marketing company’s warehouse is located? I’d dare say that most people haven’t even thought about this. Usually, most cities have places called warehouse districts with low costs and low rents. So, it makes good business sense to house company stock in these districts, right?

In reality, many times this does not happen. A number of companies have their warehouses right next to their home offices. Other than looking pretty impressive, it really is a total waste of money. Now, some companies have their businesses in warehouse districts, but many do not.

Are you beginning to see why you are failing in MLM, and how your network marketing company’s business model is the problem here? With huge overhead costs, which are funded by the compensation plan, there is little to pass on to you and other distributors. Now, there are some great network marketing companies out there that have very strong business models that support the distributor, but you have to really search them out.

So, here are some compelling reasons why you are not having success with your network marketing home business. In the next part of this article, we will discover how a company’s business model directly impacts your ability to build a business

Business Opportunity Or Just Another Job? Take Matters Into Your Own Hands

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

There is a distinct difference between business as an entity and business as an activity. Doing business is NOT the same as owning a business.

I know a lot of people who are avid network marketers. A few of these people generate a nice income by referring others to their opportunity system, but most do not.

For purposes of this article, let’s focus on the network marketer or MLMer who actually does create a profit with their venture. Just so you know, we’re talking about less than 10% of the millions of people on the planet who try their hand in this field.

Often these starry-eyed entrepreneurs talk about running their own business and how you can have a lucrative business of your own if you’ll only join them on the path to prosperity. But the simple truth is in most cases even successful network marketers aren’t running their own business.

I have met a few MLM distributors with a registered enterprise, a business license, etc. But even most of these folks focus the entirety of their energies and resources into the building of their opportunity network.

For the record, there is nothing wrong with being an independent sales representative. Many people in many fields make great money as commission-based agents who work for retail companies and manufacturers.

But let’s call a duck a duck shall we? Being an independent sales rep does not necessarily make you a business owner.

Consider this crucial yet seriously downplayed fact: If you spend all of your time, energy, and ad budget building a network to move product and recruit sales reps for a third party company, what will happen when this company decides to change their compensation structure?

Statistically speaking, the average network marketing company alters their pay plan once every five years. This is done to keep the scales from being tilted too far from the favor of the board members or company owners.

I’m not saying this is wrong. Clearly the founding members of the company have every right to manage things to their favor.

But where does this leave the hard working distributor?

And do you realize some network marketing companies even put their products on the shelves of popular retail centers?

I won’t even get started on how common it is for a network marketing company to simply dissolve altogether.

The point I’m making is this: If you rely solely on a company you do not own to fulfill your dreams of prosperity you have yourself a j-o-b.

I urge you to avoid putting all of your eggs into one basket, to borrow an old cliché.

Develop and focus on a business plan that promotes you first, and build on this model. Business opportunities will come and go, but a true following will stay with you for a lifetime.

Starting a Work at Home Based Business

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

There is a massive amount of home-based business offers that can be found online, in newspaper ads or magazine advertisements. Some of these work at home-based business opportunities are legitimate and others are not. One way to find out if they are a legitimate business opportunity is to research them well. If in doubt, get in touch with the Better Business Bureau or the Federal Trade Commission. They usually have a list of complaints on these so-called opportunities and do follow up on them.

One of the ever so popular ads in every Sunday paper across the nation is the envelope stuffing opportunity. With today’s technology, there is absolutely no need for an individual to hand stuff envelopes. It is just not reality. Most of these ads are responded to by asking the individual for a small investment. What that person receives for their investment is usually instructions to place their own ad and scam the next individual that falls for it. This scam works thousands of times per year. It is one of the oldest tricks in the book, yet we still have people falling into the trap.

Another opportunity that you see mostly in magazine advertisements is the “assembling products opportunity”. This one too, has been around for a long time. What typically happens in this “home based opportunity” is that the individual is required to pay a small deposit for their unassembled products. After they complete the assembly of the products they find out that they are on their own to sell the product.

There is another home-based business opportunity out there that is fairly new to the scam world. It claims to pay an individual money to do the paperwork on government tax refunds. This is your first red flag. The government has their own employees doing this called the IRS. After you call a toll free number, a message comes on and asks you to send a small amount of money to cover the cost of shipping and handling to a post office box. This is your second red flag. After you send the money, you never hear from them again and there really is no way to find out who, why or what happened to you shipping and handling money.

For every negative work at home business opportunity out there, there are several legitimate work at home based business opportunities as well. A person just needs to use common sense and good judgment when responding to these home based business opportunity advertisements.

The Truth About A Home Based Business

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Nowadays, a growing number of people are finding that they wish to get out of the rat race and leave behind the daily grind of a regular 9 to 5 job. So, many of them begin their own home based business. However, a significant number jump into starting a home based business without doing sufficient research into what they really want to do and what it will take to make their home based business a success.

One vital point for people to understand is that even though they now have a home-based business, it is still a business and should be treated as such. Many are inclined to treat their home based business as a hobby and do not really give it the time, attention and energy it needs to grow and prosper. All too often people fall into the trap of trying something for a short period and then jumping to something else. If you find something you like, stick to it.

A very common misconception that many people have on starting a home business, is that they will find they have a lot of free time. Often, the goals people aim for in their home-based business is that they are able to spend more time with their family and that there will be a better balance between work and life. There can be a conflict in these goals especially when first beginning a home-based business. In the first few years, you may find that your home business is very time consuming, and you may find that you now have less free time than you did when you were working a regular 9 to 5 job. However, you cannot expect your business to grow and prosper if you do not spend a lot of time with it in the beginning.

You must realize that any home-based business you start is bound to have its ups and downs. You will realize that there are not loads of people beating your door down to acquire your products or services. In order to make your home business known to others, you are going to have to utilize some savvy marketing skills as well as effort.

If you look at the successful home business person, you will find that he or she has probably spent about 95% of the time in the promotion of their home-based business. On the other hand, those who have been unsuccessful have probably spent less time promoting their business and more time doing busy work such as surfing the Internet, checking the stapler, checking e-mail several times a day, dusting the home office, going to the post office and many other little details. All of these are important, it is true, but this should not be the center of your focus in the beginning.

In conclusion, you know that you must treat your home-based business as a real business and not just as a hobby that you can devote attention to only when you feel like it. Developing a home-based business will take lots of time and energy in the beginning. In the end, it will all be worthwhile because you will pride yourself in having built a successful home business with incredible long term potential.

Over Age 50 And Got The Pink Slip?

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Today in the Yahoo news update, it was disclosed that people who are over 50 and have been given the pink slip may have a higher risk of getting a heart attack. I became speechless when I began to read the article and I realized that this is a nightmare that is silently happening all over America and the rest of the industrialized world.

How would anyone who is in this age bracket react to such an occurrence?
First of all, it happened to me, coincidentally just after I turned age 50. I did not get a pink slip because of incompetence or anything of the sort.
The company where I worked for over 5 years just sold out its holdings. I was given a fine speech about how invaluable my contribution was and that I can depend on them for a great reference. After that, I was told “hasta la vista”. That was it.

At first, I did not believe that I had much of a problem. I am a qualified accountant and accountants are in demand and it will only be a question of a short period of time before something else will come up. Furthermore, I was just 50 years young and that’s not old.
Boy, how wrong I was. Yes, accountants are in demand but the market is being saturated by young college graduates with accounting degrees whom employers can hire for less.
Now I do not want to be the bearer of bad news. This was my experience. Your luck could be far better than mine and you could be gainfully employed in a very short space of time.

The advice I am trying to give is that if anyone should find him or herself in this predicament, then you should always have an alternative strategy to just sending out hundreds or perhaps thousands of resumes to potential employers.
You should do an in-depth research into bona fide home based businesses, make your choice and immediately start to nurture this business into maturity.
Internet based businesses usually have low start up costs when compared to traditional store front businesses. Of course it will take time, some money and devotion before a home based business can be profitable.
Statistics have shown that many people will fail at this not because of the lack of opportunity but because of a lack of interest and effort.
I spent over 1 ½ years looking for an honest home based business with a potential to replace my income in less than two years.

In conclusion:

Stay positive and focused on your home based business. Advertising is the key. You’ve got to allocate an advertising budget to get other people to know about your business.
Initially, if sales are not up to par, you may get negative remarks or derogatory comments from people with dead end, hours for dollars jobs. Ignore them and just bear in mind that success will be your revenge. Within a reasonable time, you could be earning a residual income that is equal to or greater than what you lost in your last job.

My name is Frank Flandinette. I am a qualified accountant. I was laid off my job around the latter part of the year 2004. I submitted resumes to hundreds of employers. Although I was invited to many interviews, I just could not understand why I was having such difficulty in getting hired because I have a wealth of experience in my field. After several months, I realized that I was dealing with a very fierce and competetive labor market.
It seems to me that companies are now concentrating their efforts in hiring younger people whom they can hire and train for less than the older employees.
