As much as we talk about residual income in network marketing, you’d think the concept of residual advertising would be as natural as rolling off a log.

You’d be wrong.

Here is my question. Let’s say you have the following 4 choices for your MLM advertising:

1. a free ad, featuring your product, targeted to your market, that runs one time and then disappears.

2. a free ad, featuring your product, targeted to your market, that runs as long as you keep pedalling the “ad machine”. As soon as you stop pedalling, your ad disappears.

3. a paid ad, featuring your product, targeted to your market, that runs one time and then disappears.

4. a free ad, designed to build lifetime relationships, targeted to your market, that runs automatically, 24/7, today and every day for as long as the internet exists, and that often gets listed on the first page of Google results, bringing you lots of free traffic.

Simple choice, don’t you think? However … in my experience, the vast majority of advertisers choose 1, 2, or 3.

And so my question is, Why? Why, if you are going to advertise anyway, why not run an ad that gets you residual advertising for the rest of the life of the internet? Probably the #1 reason to build an MLM business is to get residual income. Lifetime residual income means you’ll be able to retire at some point, and you’ll keep getting that same check every week or every month.

So what if you could “retire” from advertising, but your ads kept running to that same targeted market, no charge to you? Wouldn’t THAT be a beautiful thing?

You can do EXACTLY that writing articles. Yes, it’s more writing than that ad you had in mind. But in 400-800 words, you can tell a pretty good story, and some of your readers will bond with you and want to know about your business.

And, since Google loves EzineArticles.com, you have a good chance of posting an article here and then in 2 weeks, you find it on the first page of Google results for your keyword search.

1.Save your mp3 or wma file on the server. You may skip this step if you know that the file exists on another server and know the link to that file. Make sure that the link has a .mp3 or .wma extension.

2.Open your text editor and type the path to the file. Include the and the file extension. Repeat this step until you have included all the links to the files that you would like to be included in the playlist.

3.Save the playlist with a .m3u extension.

4.Upload the m3u file on the directory where the music files are hosted or to your server.

5.Open your html editor and embed the link to the m3u file. Through this, you can also set if you want to have the playlist to autoplay if someone visits your site of if you want your visitor to control playing the music. You can also set the volume level.

After the code is embedded on the html file, and whenever your site is visited, the songs in the playlist will be buffered, streamed and played one after another. If your playlist has several songs, the user can skip forward or go back a song in the playlist using the media player controls.

Doing this setup works for many website owners. Through this you can customize the type of music being played on your site. You can even play recordings related to your product to boost product awareness.

If you say to me “is running a nightclub a lucrative business” and I say yes, then that’s as far as it will go. Are you going out tonight to open your own club?
In all probability you are not.

At our karate dojo, our Sensei’s nephew got his black belt at 15 and was put in charge of the beginner’s class - both adults and juniors. So we had these guys in their 20s and 30s, some of whom had kids and underlings at work, who had to bow to a 15 year old “kid″ and call him “Sir”.

Some complained about this and some actually left citing this as the reason. However the ones that swallowed their egos and stuck with it - “became true white belts″, were the ones that went on to become very good students, karateka, and good people. They had to really “empty” their cup” so it could be filled.

It weeded out the people with the character flaws and the ego problems.
(Like the double opt-in procedure!)

So when it comes to Home Business and Internet Marketing I use my name and face and lead as a person first, and the programs and products come second. What you get is what you see.

What you get is a young woman as your mentor and team leader, not some middle aged guy in a suit or a “guru″.

What you get is someone who runs their business fulltime from home and can show you how to do the same.

Anyone who’s ego and character flaws won’t let them seperate the two is someone I don’t want on my team anyway.

Same goes for guys who come to my karate class who don’t want to be taught by a woman, or won’t get in the boxing ring at our gym for fear of being “beaten up” by a woman (or worse the ones that think that CAN′T happen!)

I run my business the same way as I run my classes - leave your ego at the door and empty your cup, put on the white belt, then I will except you. And whether you go on to become a black belt, teacher, mentor, team leader - in or out of the dojo - depends on that.

Personally I’m only looking for a higher class of recruit - those who will go on to become a Leader themselves, not somebody looking to follow one.

What has internet opportunity anything to do with passive income and home business? To many friends of mine, they are still not aware of the millions dollar opportunities they are facing every day. One day, I checked if they were receptive to an internet opportunity home business by asking if they had any intention of earning a passive income over the internet and their first reaction was a silly grin.

I could sense that they are taking internet business lightly and with a certain extent of distrust. Even if they were to join any internet business opportunity, it will forever be of lower priority than their current job. I have been pondering why many people are taking a job working for others more serious than a job they can take ownership of. It seems to many a home business is more likely to be of past-time nature rather than a serious commitment. They are simply unaware of the massive recurring profits and opportunities they can gain from a small internet home business.

Should I take it that they are living a life of contentment? I doubt so as many are still looking for opportunities to make that extra income by working overtime after office hours and over weekends. I simply do not understand when they can actually use the weekend to pick up some internet marketing skills like traffic generation strategies or website building. In fact, many are short changing their lifes by working too hard not for themselves. They work overtime and over the weekends as if the extra hundreds or thousands can help them attain financial freedom in five years time. This is absurd and it is impossible. However, knowing a way to earn passive income from the internet substantially raises your chance of mastering financial independence.

What really happens? I believe it is a matter of belief system or they are simply ignorant of any internet home business opportunity. Some are aware of the opportunities but were simply uninterested as they have other more important priorities in life. I respect their decision for that. For the ignorant ones, I believe we should convey the importance and feasibility of planning an internet business so that they will not miss out on any opportunity to profit from and master their financial future.

Excitement is the natural positive attitude that is displayed from within when sharing something of value with someone else. Hype includes incredulous claims or “smoke and mirrors” that display a message to the prospect of being “too good to be true.” Put another way, Excitement doesn’t need to include Hype but Hype almost always includes Excitement. Be aware of how your message is received by your prospect. No one likes a grouch or someone who is boring and Excitement is contagious. If you don’t cross the line into Hype you create for yourself a competitive advantage as a marketer since so many marketers are promoting on Hype.
