Recycle Those Work at Home Jobs

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Earning extra money is possible for anyone to accomplish. A simple job like mowing a lawn can be turned into a thriving business by using the concept of recycling.

Have one job feed another.

For example, say you mow neighboring lawns for extra money. What
do you do with all the grass clippings, though? You throw them out.

Why not use the clippings to start a compost heap? Add dried leaves and non-meat and non-dairy leftovers to the heap.

You could sell the resulting rich compost to your mowing clients, or raise your mowing fee to include the compost and the work involved in applying the compost to the client’s garden.

To take this idea even farther, you could raise earthworms in the compost heap. Sell the worms to your mowing clients, other local gardeners, and to fishermen.

Mowing lawns plus selling compost plus selling worms = A successful landscaping business that even a kid could start.

For another example, I have a pile of old clothes I need to get rid of. If I was handy with a sewing machine I could cut up those old clothes and sew them into quilted dog coats or dog blankets to sell at flea markets, local pet stores, and online. Dog owners go nuts over unique items such as quilted dog blankets or coats for their furry babies.

A pile of worn out clothes recycled into money in the bank.

For a third example, let’s say you wash windows to earn extra money. What are the two most common things found around, on, and in the window frames? Mold and spiders!

Explain to your clients the mold can cause serious health problems, such as asthma.

Offer to scrub the stubborn mold off the window frames using bleach (not an easy job) and to suck the spiders out of the window corners and off the curtains using a vacuum cleaner.

To take this one more step, you could offer to scrub off the mold in your client’s bathroom. Everyone has mold in the bathroom and no one likes to clean it. In fact, I have mold on my bathroom ceiling I need to attack.

Always wear a mask if you work around mold as mold can, as I said, cause serious health problems.

You could also offer to perform a ’spider-sweep’ throughout the house, sucking the spiders off the ceiling, in basements, and from inside closets.

Recycle one job into another and another. Voila! You have a thriving business!

Home Office Essentials Part Two

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

Welcome to Part Two of our series of articles on home office
essentials. The last article discussed ergonomics and office
furniture and your working environment. This next article will
take that a step further and also look at the computer aspect
of your home office.

Decorate It

Some people design their home offices to be like a real world
office. They take it that step too far though and strip their
home office of all character and warmth. There’s no need for
your home office to be sterile and boring. In fact it should
be just the opposite.

Seriously consider adding plants. They’re a healthy decoration
in so many ways. The colour green has a positive affect on
our thought patterns. This combined with the fact that plants
filter toxins from the air around us is another great reason
for having a “green” office.

Hate those motivational posters you saw in work? Do you know
why? They never “spoke” to you as a person. They were just
corporate spindoctoring that meant nothing to you. Choose one
single motivational poster that speaks to you and put it
somewhere you can always see it. Even if it only makes you
smile once during a working day because it’s cheesy that’s a
positive influence on you.

Last but not least consider having your mission statement
printed out, framed and on your desk in front of you. You
don’t have a mission statement? Get one! Write it now!Your
mission statement is the reason you started your home business
- make sure you are reminded of this every single day. It will
push you forward when you need encouragement the most.

Your Computer

Stop. This is the point where you need to be really, really
honest with yourself. Computers are expensive and tempting.
The question you need to ask yourself is “What do I need in my
computer?” and not “What kind of computer do I want?”

Your home office does not *need* the latest superfast,
supercool computer, printer, scanner, digital camera and
external storage. You want this stuff. You don′t necessarily
need it.

Your business needs functionality. You business needs cost
effectiveness. Buy what you need for your business. Do not buy
what you want for yourself.

Tips for buying your home office computer.

* Mid-range processor power

Ignore the super poweful, super expensive next generation
processors. They won′t help you type that document any faster.

* 512MB of RAM

This is a minimum. If you can afford 1GB get it. If you can
afford more get it. More RAM is always better.

* 40GB hard disk

What are you going to put on a 200GB hard disk? Ṃs, movies
and games. In other words 200GB of distractions. 40GB - 80GB
is more than adequate for home office use.

* 3D Graphic Accelerator

Next generation 3D chipsets are not essential business
equipment. Most modern computers will have a 3D chipset by
default. Simply don’t go upgrading this because you’re only
doing it to play the latest games. Don’t buy a distraction.

CDRW or DVDRW drive

If you value your business you’ll value your data. A CD or DVD
writer/burner gives you the ability to safely and quickly
backup your data. Do not buy a PC without one.

LCD/Flat screens

MTV Cribs has sold more flat screen tvs than any marketing
campaign could hope to. Will a 21″ LCD screen make you work
faster or better? Nope. CRT monitors are cheaper and do the
same job. If its supplied as standard with the system then
that’s fine. Don’t go spending money on an LCD upgrade.

Extended warranties

Sales people make large commissions from these. Do you really
need a 5 year warranty on your computer? Will you still own
the same computer in even 3 years? Never take these warranties
at face value.

Generic Brand Computers

Just because it isn’t Dell, IBM, HP or Compaq doesn’t mean
it’s cheap. Generic brands use the same components as and are
therefore equally as reliable as the big name brands like HP
and Dell. Buy smart.

Refurbished systems

If the budget is tight and the spec is right then these are
well worth considering. Be certain of what your warranty cover
on such a system is though. Many refurbished systems only have
a 90-day warranty.

Phone-A-Friend

Check with friends who have purchased computers recently. What
problems did they encounter when buying their PC? Who did they
buy from? What was the aftersales service like?

Printer

Does your business really need a top-of-the-range color
laserjet that prints 7,000 pages per minute? Nope? Didn’t
think so.

Here’s a brief list of questions you should ask yourself when
buying your printer:

* Do you need color printing capabilities?

* How many pages per minute do you actually need to print?

* What is the cost per page for color and black printing?

* How much does replacement ink/toner cost?

* How many pages of black text can you get from each
cartridge?

* How much desktop space will the printer require?

* Are updated drivers and tech support for this model readily
available?

a few thousand words can’t possibly encompass everything you
need to know about designing and operating a home office.

Home-Based Business Opportunities - Is It a Good Career Decision?

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

There are many successful businesses that are way and out of the spare bedroom of the owner’s home. Usually, the owners of these businesses left the security of working for someone else to follow their dream to develop their own home-based business opportunity.

There’s a lot to be said about a person who has started and operated their own business for any length of time. Many of the skills and talents to run a business are also important to many businesses should you want to get another job in the future. Consider these skills that are demonstrated by developing your own a home based business opportunity

1. Initiative. Nothing says success like a person who is willing to place themselves at risk to achieve something important. Taking the opportunity to build or develop your own home-based business says a lot about a person

2. Organizational skills. All home-based business opportunities are usually started by just a single entrepreneur with a dream. They must have great time management and organizational skills to be productive

3. Discipline. Unlike a job were there’s a boss to keep you focused on track, running your own business demonstrates your ability to get up every morning and get the job done without constant supervision.

4. Financial management. Success or failure of any small business opportunity is based upon your ability to to effectively manage capital.

Just these four points demonstrate very important skill sets that most established businesses look for in new employees. It’s not a negative on your resume to have taken some time off to establish your own work from home business opportunity.

Rather, I suggest that the skills learned and developed during a period of self-employment can actually be considered a major advantage over someone who has simply remained employed.

So when he waiting for? There are almost unlimited home-based business opportunities and ideas that you can use to develop your dream. Being self-employed after a long period of working in corporate America cannot only be refreshing but in the end, make you a better employee, should you wish to return.

Sell Your Love

Friday, June 29th, 2007

It’s well documented that if we love our work, then we usually become experts at it and eventually the money shows up. Makes sense, but this is a slight shift on that concept. I want you to literally look at the concept of selling love for money. This has nothing to do with prostitution. Prostitution lacks love which is the core of what’s wrong with that industry. No, I’m talking about infusing your product with love before selling it. Love is a magical indescribable element that uplifts, nurtures, blesses, and lightens the recipient. Add it to your product and watch the profits soar.

By adding your love and light energy to your product, you are creating a product that uplifts, nurtures, blesses, or somehow lightens the life of the person purchasing your product. It will come across as so much more than just good customer service. If you have two identical items of the same quality and price, the one with joy will magnetize the buyer. They may or may not be able to describe exactly what it was that made that product stand out over the others.

My mother is a perfect example of this concept. She is an entrepreneur at heart without any form of business school or higher education. Every business she’s ever run has been extremely successful. She is organized and business smart, but that’s not what sets her apart from everyone else. She usually works in industries that she finds an interest in, however one time she decided to run an auto parts shop for my step dad. She was definitely not an expert in her industry. She dove in with an upbeat positive can-do attitude and got to work. Besides selling a quality product at a quality price, she infused the entire shop with her electric energy and light. She is a natural salesman because she’s so amazingly bright and cheerful.

No matter what kind of business she’s operating she treats every customer like a small town neighbor that she’s known all of her life. I didn’t grow up with her so as an adult visiting her, it was amazing for me to watch her work this special magic of hers. She makes everyone feel smart, special, and cared about. People like to do business with her. She can charge whatever she wants and work as few or as many hours as she likes because people will gladly pay for that feeling they get when in her presence. Her customers and employees treat her with a certain hero worship.

Whether you are selling a product that you really believe in, information that you’re an excited expert in, or a service that you give from your heart, you can make a fortune by putting that kind of heart and soul into your business. You can give great customer service without any joyful lightness passing between you and the customer. Put that magical blend of love and brightness into every aspect of your work. It will create a magnetic attraction around your business. Others will be mysteriously drawn to you and after doing business with you they will want to come back again and again to do even more business with you. Make it an enjoyable wonderful experience for people to give you their money.

When you start your work day, take a moment and visualize yourself, your product, your company, your advertising, your communications, everything being surrounded in your most loving caring warm nurturing light. Say a little prayer that you want to truly give of your heart and soul on this day. Ask that the people who need your gift be shown the way to you so that you can bless them with your love and talents. Remind yourself that you are going to lovingly fulfill someone’s unmet needs and they will gladly pay you for having done so. Send that joyful intention out to lead you throughout your workday. Let love magnetize your work throughout every stage from creation to sales.

What if you don′t own the company or aren′t self employed? What then? Your job consists of giving your time and labor away to a boss in exchange for a paycheck. The truth is that this still applies. Long before my mother ever opened up any of her companies, she had to work long hours doing lowly jobs for others. She always infused her work with that same go get ‘em attitude and would typically end up in a supervisor position. I remember her telling me that she liked to show up for work at least half an hour early every day just to set up her work station and to make sure she had all of her ducks in a row before the official start time. Bosses love that kind of stuff. Of course she got the promotion.

Think about it, if you had two equally talented employees to choose from and one just did the basic eight hour day and the other came in enthusiastically half an hour early every morning, which would you choose to promote to supervisor? When debating how much to give employees for pay raises, the enthusiastic employee who puts love and light into their work is always going to be given the biggest possible raise. Bosses are happy to write big fat paychecks to happy upbeat employees who put their heart and soul into their work. If your boss doesn’t, then you can apply for a better paying position with another company. Your joyful enthusiasm will pay off eventually.

Love your work. Pick something that you can throw yourself into with joy. Love your product. Create the best product, service, or piece of information that you can. Love your company. Be glad for the chance to work and earn a living. Love your customers. They are people just like you who have many needs and want to come away feeling special and important. Do these things and the money will flow.

How MLM Recruiting Can Make You Rich

Friday, June 29th, 2007

There are several things a person can do to become successful in network marketing, but none compare to the benefits you will receive from MLM recruiting. A majority of your time should be spent on recruiting and building your business because in the end, everyone wants to be rich. The further you build your business the higher your income is going to be. So how do you go about recruiting and what are the magical secrets to success in multilevel marketing? Let’s find out.

The first part to MLM recruiting is believing in yourself and the product that you are promoting. You must believe that your product is the best out there and that it is going to benefit everyone that becomes associated with it. If you promote the product with great knowledge and passion then other people will be curious as to why it is truly as good as you make it out to be. Now you have the person’s attention.

Getting people to your website is the key to advertising. Everyone that has internet access has the capability of seeing your information at THEIR convenience. When you’re advertising online, always cross-market by advertising your website and phone number. This gives people multiple ways to contact you enhancing your chances of building your network marketing downline.

Communication is a key aspect to how people will perceive the product. With network marketing, you will be recruiting in various ways from telephone, email, letter and more. If you are fumbling with words trying to explain the benefits of the product, people will question your knowledge of the product. You need to know the ins and outs of the product and be prepared for any question that may come up.

Building a personal relationship will help in multilevel marketing. Know that everyone you deal with has a life and hobbies outside of network marketing themselves. If you take the time to get to know them a little better they will begin to trust you more and be more inclined to buy into your product. Ask them about family, hobbies, interests, career goals and more.

Persistency is the key to success in network marketing and will help in the recruiting process. Be consistent to follow up on every email that you receive to keep the personal relationship in tact. Offer something of value to them such as new ezines of yours that they can subscribe to for free. Keep them interested on an ongoing basis until they finally decide it is worth buying into.

MLM recruiting is all about persistency and consistency. If the person sees your dedication and you take the time to build a relationship, you will build a large downline in no time. If you can show people that they are worth while, then they will be more inclined to listen to you and you will be on your way to a successful MLM recruitment.

How A Home Business May Protect You From The Housing Bubble

Friday, June 29th, 2007

Not everyone agrees there is a housing bubble which will have an impact on the entire economy, but how about one that has an impact on you? If your home was devalued, even temporarily, do you have the cash flow to sustain your credit or allow you to sell your home without getting into debt? In the US today, many people live in homes which have positioned them in a loosing financial situation. How can a home business improve your financial position and protect you from the potential effects of a housing bubble?

First, many people have W-2 income as their only source of income. While a job is certainly a great way to trade your time for a consistent flow of money, it also provides you with the fewest tax advantages which means you end up paying more to Uncle Sam than those who also run a home business on the side. For example, many CPAs and tax planning specialists can show you how to deduct part of your home expenses, your cell phone bill and even costs to maintain and operate your vehicle, legally, if you are able to document that you actively work on your home business each day. This can turn expenses you are already paying for, into tax deductions. That’s money in your pocket! Money saved can be reinvested into growing your business or applied to paying off your mortgage more quickly.

Protect yourself and protect your hard earned home equity by improving your cash flow and avoid running close to the edge of the value of your home compared to the debt owed in your mortgage and any home equity loans. Be sure you consult with a tax professional and a CPA to properly plan the tax benefits you can receive from having a home business. Apply those savings to building your savings and also to paying down your mortgage as quickly as possible. The more equity to have in your home, the more insulated you are from possible effects of the housing bubble and also from the effects of personal and professional emergencies.

Fearlessly Entering Your Home Based Business Niche

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Want to have your own home based business, but you’re not sure what to do? Most business counselors and the like will tell you that you should find your home based business niche that involves something you like to do. But what if you look at your home based business niche and see that there are already tons of other people in the same home based business niche? Take a deep breath and don’t panic, there is still room for you in your desired home based business niche.

The first key to determining if your chosen home based business niche is still for you is to research the home based business niche and what consumers are looking for in your home based business niche. If there are a lot of consumers seeking services in your home based business niche, that it a good sign. It means that there is plenty of business to go around in your home based business niche.

Second, begin brainstorming about what services you can offer that no one else can in that home based business niche. Take another angle toward your home based business niche. Use your research on your home based business niche. Look deeper into consumer needs and see what areas they are not being served in by other businesses in your home based business niche.

Another way you can see how you fit into your home based business niche is to use a keyword search tool. This tool allows you to look up different keywords that you think are related to your home based business niche. By looking up the keywords, you can see which areas of your home based business niche are being under serviced - giving you a specialized home based business niche.

Don’t be afraid of a popular home based business niche, but use caution, too. If you do not feel that you would make a good return on your investment in a home based business niche that is saturated with businesses, then you may want to consider another home based business niche. Weighing your options with more than one home based business niche may work in your interest to make you a better profit.

Remember, just because there is competition out there in your preferred home based business niche should not mean you should walk away. First determine if you can find a specialization in your home based business niche that will meet a need in that home based business niche. Second, determine if you will get enough return on your investment to make it all worth it. After all, you want to start up in a home based business niche you love, but you also want to make a profit, too.

Still Waiting In Line For Your Dream Results?

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

Picture your life as a trip to a global amusement park. The opportunities surrounding you in life are the “rides.” At any popular amusement park, there is often a line at almost every ride or event, your learning curve. How do you handle the waiting?

Every ride or opportunity has a fantastic appeal. You ultimately want to ride everything in an amusement park, except rides you may think are too risky or too boring. Imagine yourself in line waiting for the ride you came upon first. In line you have progressed forward some and have a long time more to wait. You look up and see right over there is another ride that looks even more exciting so you go over there and get in line for it. You move forward a little in that line and just outside the que you notice the most exciting show! There’s not too much of a line for it yet so you can be near the front and get in fast, “ground level.” That is when you notice show time arrives in about 30 minutes. While you’re waiting for show time you have lots of time to think. You realize you have just spent a few hours at the park already and have not ridden even one ride. You decide it was a mistake to leave the first one and change so you go back to the first one. While you are in the first line again, you realize why you changed to the other line in the first place and you really wanted to ride the other ride more so you change “just this once more.”

Can you see how with a strategy like that you will never get to ride any ride? You could have ridden EVERY ride if you would have just seen the first one through, then had gone to the next one and the next. When you entered the park you were probably handed a map. If you had the patience to sit down and create a plan, connecting the dots for velocity of doing all or in order of favorites and stuck to that plan, you would have had time to do every single thing in the park and with no stress or frustration. You would have certainty that you would get around to each. Then, as you went along, if you did notice one ride taking way too long because of its popularity, you could have skipped it if necessary to get the most variety or you could stay all day in that one line if it were worth it.

Opportunity is like that. You MUST look around you and see the niches available. And you MUST know the niches that match your deepest core passion. If you’re like me, you can see something you like in just about any opportunity. But does that opportunity match your core passion? The first opportunity or “ride” you take on must be the one that is the most deeply matching you to make sure you are fulfilled by the end of the “ride,” the results. Having done this first, you will be able to ride the less compelling fun rides as well and with more joy since you are fulfilled in your deepest core of who you are.

There are people who just seem to know themselves well and know what they want very early in life. Most people don’t. They graduate from high school and even go on to college having no idea what they want their lives to be about. Are you one of those people? If so, you could wait in a lot of long lines getting almost to the mark and then falling short because you skipped the basic step of knowing yourself . Then how to move through the line with the most velocity possible to the result. You may not even know for sure what “ride” or opportunity you even want in the sea of opportunities available.

Find the one key element to who you are first and then find the opportunity that most quickly gives you an access for expressing yourself. Then, you will save many years of “waiting” and will live a life of untold joy and wealth if you wish from this point forward. You are your own guarantee.
