Work from Home: 6 Required Actions

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

My previous article Work from Home: Real Money Advantages explained some ways you actually save money and make more money from home. Included were just a few non-money advantages. But with this blessing comes responsibility. Yes, I said it, responsibility. This comes with a burden of production and action. Most capitalistic countries require some kind of production in return for something of value. When you are on your own, working from home these actions and production are left solely on you.

You must do these actions in your own way. They are required in order to work from home. They entail possibly hundreds of smaller tasks and steps to complete. They almost never go away and they are always there whether you like or not.

1. Self Starting Accountability. These means you must set a schedule, do your next task and keep track of your progress. This is so important. I keep an action journal and review it regularly. No one, I mean No one is going to do it for you. That’s right, you’ll go down with the ship and no one will say a word.

2. Productive, organized work area. Mine, has two desks, two phones, TV and great filing system. It’s quiet when needed and out of the way. I have two desks. One desk is closer to the home action but used mainly for my researching, other computer creative aspects and writing. The other is used for communications, clearing my inbox paperwork, paying the bills, analyzing financial statements etc.

3. Your product. This can be a service or real tangible goods exchanged for money or service or other goods. This requires research. This requires a self evaluation on your worth. This requires some kind of system to sell it and deliver it.

4. Continuing education. When you work for yourself, you actually can’t afford to be without it. The newest technologies. The newest systems. The best strategies. As you seek information and current knowledge you will seek industry expert professional opinions on the marketplace, future and challenges. This keeps you ahead and profitable.

5. Planning, execution and strategy. Hopefully, number one on this list can help the execution because you’ll have a method of accountability in place. Planning entails realistic short term and long term goals. As well as, “to-do lists”. Strategies can be researched (see number four above) and purchased. They can be self-formulated with enough knowledge but plenty of information is available to self-starters wanting to do the required actions.

6. Motivation. You must be motivated. This requires actions to keep you motivated. Reminders to yourself about WHY you are doing this. This isn’t always money. In fact, some of the non-money reasons for working from home can be used as motivators. Actually, anything can be used for motivation. Big, small, bigger, smaller, too fat, too thin, more money, more love, more romance, more extravagance, less complicated, more complex, her or him, good, or bad. All can be applied to “prod” yourself into action. Even prisoners are motivated to dig their way out of jail even it’s against the law. But that motivation to “get out” keeps them planning, scheduling, strategizing, and executing the dig.

Believe it or not the above six required actions anyone with a will can apply to success. It is true there are obstacles hidden within all the steps. There are hundreds of smaller actions within each. Some can be a big pain in the neck. But they must be completed as part of the whole in order to keep moving on, producing, delivering and making money all in the comfort of your home.

I’m going on my eighth year working from home. As I get good information, good education and apply solid principles I see great results.

I’m running an experiment on the newest information marketing website turnkey system. The system advertised the typical promises: “help you make money from home with very little money, time and offers plenty of solutions that can cover most of your knowledge deficiencies.” A current example to show anyone who is interested about home based turnkey systems: view an experiment system. See the bank statements to view how profitable or not so profitable.

The Perfect MLM Business Model

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Have you started generating your own MLM leads for your network marketing business yet?

I firmly believe that we have entered into a new era in network marketing. The days of hotel meetings, calling parties, and purchasing expensive leads are behind us.

Why?

Because they are not easy to duplicate, and they do not produce a “real” business model.

This statement may shock some of you, so I better do a bit of explaining before you think I just took a drink from the “kook” fountain.

As you know network marketing is all about leverage. By creating a downline you are able to leverage the collective work of your entire team. If you have hundreds of people on your team, and each person just sponsors two or three people (the industry average) than you can experience massive growth.

The biggest problem is surviving long enough in the business to reach this point. Hotel meetings, calling parties, etc, are designed to meet the lowest common denominator. In other words they work well to get those initial 2 or 3 new associates, but then things come to a screeching halt. Associates run out of warm and hot market leads. Then where do they turn?

Most of them will turn to purchasing expensive leads - this is what I did - and the downhill spiral begins.

However, if you are generating your own leads - you are building a real business - that you are in complete control of.

Let me explain further how this business can really work. You set-up a lead capture page on the internet. Drive some traffic to it, and start building a subscriber email list. Over time you drip, drip, drip the information about your company to these prospects. Some will join today, some next week, some a year from now - each person has their own time. By tapping into the power of the internet you can build a relationship over time that can grow forever.

By building your own list, you are also building a real business model. You see once you have a list of subscribers you can actually print money at will. For example, say you find a really good service or course on the internet that relates to MLM or Network marketing. Using the affiliate marketing model, you can recommend this product to your list, and get paid a handsome commission if they purchase it.

This model allows you to make money outside of your primary opportunity. It allows you to survive financially long enough to actually “make it” in network marketing. It allows you go get to the point of enjoying the leverage of a large downline!

Don’t you think this business model makes more sense than the tired MLM tactics of the past?

Why The Right MLM Opportunity Training Is A Must In The Internet Age

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Let’s face it, with the advent of the internet, the business world is moving faster and faster. And the MLM world is no exception. In addition, the mlm opportunity training an organization receives must be able to keep up.

So what does this mean to you? Well, if you’re serious about success in network marketing today, you’ve got 2 choices: You can either continue doing mlm the slow old fashioned way (which worked decades ago) or you can educate yourself with mlm opportunity training that’s up-to-date with today’s hi-tech strategies and tactics.

So what can internet-age mlm training do for you? Well, just consider this:

1. Why spend hours at the mall handing out fliers or business cards when a single pay-per-click ad on Google can literally put you in front of 1000’s of people who are already looking for what you′ve got? (And no, it doesn′t have to be expensive.)

2. Why drive all over town to do 1, 2, or 3 one-on-one presentations a day in a noisy restaurant when you can legally email a full “presentation” to 100’s of prospects from home?

3. Why spend your hard-earned money on lousy biz op leads when you can generate your own endless free leads the same way the lead companies do? (Did you know you can even get them to pay you whether they join your business or not?)

4. Why waste time and energy trying to recruit uncle Bob who has no interest or business experience when you can build a downline of internet savvy entrepreneurs on auto-pilot?

Starting to get the picture?

OK, so where do you find this hi-tech mlm opportunity training? On the internet, of course. I’ve listed a few key words with definitions you can search for on Google to help you find the programs that are right for you.

1. Lead Capture Pages - Use these to “capture” the contact information of people who are looking online for your products or services and turn them into prospects.

2. Pay-per-click Advertising - Learn the right way to send people running to your lead capture pages. (Never send them to your company replicated web-site!)

3. Auto-responders - These send emails legally to your prospects and present your business for you 24/7 (and send money to your bank account).

4. Copywriting - (Not copyrighting) This is the secret million $ skill that shows you how to write ads that pull in prospects and letters that compel prospects to buy.

5. Domain Registration - Create website names and email addresses that present a professional image and magnetically attract prospects and customers right to you.

You can listen to a free mp3 recording by some of the top mlm trainers sharing in detail how they are using these very techniques to build their own mlm’s at

How To Make Effective Marketing Plans

Monday, May 28th, 2007

For the survival of any home business, marketing plans are critical, as they will build the pathway towards your progress or destruction. When you create a business, the marketing plan will serve as a guide and a reminder of what lies ahead of you. However, there are some rules you need to observe.

1. Stick to your marketing plans. It is easy to design a marketing plan, and then ignore it. To avoid doing this make sure you create a marketing plan which is both practical and applicable. Keep it simple and comprehensible, emphasize your marketing goals and the methods to attain them. Always bear in mind that a successful approach is one which sticks to the plan, but be flexible enough to accommodate any unpredictable events.

2. Do your homework. Before even thinking about conceiving a marketing plan, do a good market research. Research is tremendously important if you want to formulate a valid and effective marketing plan, so gather the information you need and do a proper analysis of it. Direct your inquiries towards collecting data about your competitors, your product, its price, and the market as a whole. Understanding the market means being able to see the needs and wants of your target group. One you get all this information, you will be ready to predict the movements of your target market and take advantage of them. Having data about your competition will allow you to compare how you stand in relation to their strengths and weaknesses. Try to learn from them, but don’t forget that you have to challenge yourself to outrun them. You will only gain a competitive advantage if you are able to see clearly the steps needed for success.

3. Know Your Product. You will get the biggest marketing advantage out of the information about your product that you share with your customers. Using this together with what you know about your target group, you will be able to market a product fitting their specific needs. You can also formulate marketing plans aiming to create a need for your product. Remember that the success of your product largely relies on its uniqueness. You can catch the consumers’ interest faster if you have a new idea, so make sure that both your business and your product make a good impression. You will have a much harder life on the market if you start with a bad impression. Trust this simple rule of marketing and put the maximum effort in controlling the factors which depend on you. Good luck with your business!

MLM - Have You Accomplished Your Dream Yet?

Monday, May 28th, 2007

If you’ve been in our business a while and have stuck with it to no avail then you’re most likely very passionate about your “WHY”. Your “WHY” is the reason you’re here in the first place. Your “WHY” is your dream, your motivation for striving towards financial freedom. What can financial freedom do for you, for your family, for your health and for your Life? There are hundreds maybe thousands of different reasons “WHY” people like you choose to pursue an independent entrepreneurial business to achieve financial success.

Maybe you’re one of those people who really hate their J-O-B, most people that have a J-O-B do hate it they’d much rather be doing something else. However, they continue to do the same thing every day going to their J-O-B that they hate because they feel they have to. They’re waiting for a miracle, like something is going to miraculously get better or change even though they change absolutely nothing about what they’re doing. “Maybe one day I’ll get that raise or that promotion, maybe so in so will quit then I can get her office and things will be much better then.” Would they really? Would things be much better even if by the slightest chance I did get that promotion? Well, in reality #1 most likely you’re never going to get that promotion in the first place and #2 even if you did get it it’s still a J-O-B that runs and controls your life. And let us not forget when cutbacks roll around (and they will) it’s always the middle man that’s out.

Wow now that was depressing! The hating your J-O-B scenario is an example of pain. We are all looking to accomplish one of two things, either gain pleasure or avoid pain. So lets talk about something not so painful, a “WHY” scenario that’s centered around gaining pleasure. I call this the “Wouldn’t it be nice” scenario.

Wouldn’t it be nice to travel, see places you’ve never but always wanted to see? Wouldn’t it be nice to go wherever you wanted whenever you wanted and not have to worry about how you’re going to pay for it, or how many vacation days you have saved up because you can’t afford to miss work? Wouldn’t it be nice to have the house you’ve always dreamed of raising your family in and with that, an unlimited amount of time to spend there with them as well? Wouldn’t it be nice to have that perfect health and perfect body that you know you could have if you had the time and could afford the right foods and the gym and a personal trainer? Wouldn’t it be nice to have that car you’ve always longed to drive mach 10 with your hair on fire? But most importantly, wouldn’t it be nice to have your ultimate freedom and peace of mind that you are in control and can have or change anything in your life that you desire? You’re “WHY” could be any of these or any other “WHY” your heart burns for.

So this is what I’m talking about when I say MLM – HAVE YOU ACCOMPLISHED YOUR DREAM YET? Those of you who have been not so successful with your MLM opportunity so far (or at least not as successful as you believe you can be) know disappointment and frustration. You’ve seen your “WHY”, you know it’s out there and it is possible. There are hundreds even thousands of people you’ve talked to them, you’ve listened to them, you read their books, you listen to their CD’s, you’ve studied them they have become masters of their lives and absolute achievers of their “WHY”s. You know you can do it too; after all you already have the vehicle to do it (your business opportunity) you just need to know how to drive the darn thing to win the race.

This is the billion dollar question; I have the tools, now can you tell me how to build it? Truth be told not every business plan, blue print or duplicable system will work for everyone (no matter how good it is). You have to find “your” system. The one that works for you, if you’re the type of person that thinks “outside of the box” then find a system for people that think “outside of the box”! So we all know and have been through the “Old School” MLM system that says:

1) Talk to everyone you know, have known, meet and can find and tell them about your business and/or product

2) Make lists of people you know, people that need your product, people you want to work with etc. (use memory joggers) AND CALL THEM

3) Buy Leads

4) Cold Call Unsuspecting Prospects

UGH! Ok, get the picture. Maybe that will work for some people (and it has very successfully) but have to face it its not going to work for everyone. And if you think you’re the only one that it won’t work for, that you’re just not meant to have your “WHY” think again. I knew it wasn’t working for me. I didn’t want to continue to waste my time getting a bunch of people saying no or avoiding me because they thought I was going to try to sell them. Feels like a real slap in the face especially from your friends and family. And you know frankly it’s just not who I am or the way I work. I knew I wanted to work smarter not harder and do it in a way I felt good about. And yes it exists! I ventured away from the centuries old techniques that my upline was drilling down every day. I started doing my own research, my own thinking and increasing my knowledge of all the possible ways people have come up with to make a serious residual income with their MLM business. Every day was and still is a new adventure, a wealth of knowledge right at my fingertips. If you’ve been wondering if there’s another way like I was………..THERE IS!

Here it is, this is the road less traveled, this is the “thinking outside of the box”, and this is for those of you who are looking for an alternative to what hasn’t been working so far

Whatever you find does or doesn’t work for you one thing remains DON’T EVER GIVE UP!

What to Look for in a Home Based Business and Rise to the Top Faster

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

For those of us that are already working from home, we are continuously looking to grow our business and connect with others that are like-minded. From these connections, I have learned the importance of taking the appropriate steps to ensure your success. Ultimately you will want to plug into a proven system that you can follow to the top!

If you are looking for a work from home opportunity and don’t have the money to start, do a search for “free information” on the subject. I assure you, you will find an abundance of, well, “free information”.

Eventually though, you will find that finances are the key to any company’s success of failure, and working from home is no exception. Also keep in mind that any true, honest business requires effort, just as any other business venture. You will receive from your business what you put into that business.

You will rise to the top faster by finding others that have experienced success and are willing to show you how. Not only can this save you costly mistakes, but also having different ideas on how to approach things can be invaluable. Others can help you keep on track and away from distractions that waste time.

There are plenty of Forums on the Internet filled with people working from home. Spend some time chatting with others and you will see quickly how beneficial this can be. If it wasn’t for the Quality Leadership I have received, I doubt I could have stayed as motivated and focused as I have. Without leadership and direction you’d inhibit your chance at success.

Building a true, long lasting residual income is what most desire from working a home based opportunity. The key? Don’t place your trust and work effort in uncharted waters. Stay connected and take action!

Lastly…

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE!

Make Money at Home: Tutoring

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Home tutoring service is a small business that requires hardly any finance or training compared to other businesses. This service is a brilliant option for housewives and mothers with small children. They generally have a lot of time on hands and this investment proves to be the ideal small-scale business. Apart from that, this home business provides time flexibility, since the tutor only needs to spend a few hours each day, tutoring. This can be done in leisure time or at a time set aside.

The details that should be taken care of initially are marketing and advertising the service. There are many ways by which tutoring services can be marketed. The first and easiest way is to distribute handbills and place small advertisements on the bulletin boards of local stores. Parents easily identify with the advertisements and call for a tutoring engagement, almost immediately. Tutors can also draw attention to their services and credentials by mailing the information, within the area.

A tutor does not essentially need to have a degree in teaching, to qualify. Teaching experience does help in building a profile, as parents are more confident about an experienced tutor. The possible earnings from a home tutoring service, depends on the efforts and the commitment of the tutor. If more time is allocated to tutoring, then more income will be generated.

The targeted community includes students from primary, middle and high school. One of the factors that influence the success of a home tutoring service is the level of education and guidance provided to the students. This is measured by the results attained by the students. When a student scores well in a subject the efficiency of the tutor is advertised by word of mouth. Parents generally make good recommendations if they are satisfied with the tutor.

The Top 5 Bald-Faced Lies In Home-Based Business Training and Education (Part 4)

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

Good day all, this is Josh Fuson, and today we’re going to be steam-rolling a very common lie that is so common within the home-business industry (especially in Network Marketing and MLM) that is near-synonymous with the industry. If you happened to catch the first installment of this 5 part series, I gave a little background about myself, and my involvement with Network Marketing. You need to know that I’m not anti-MLM, or anti-home business. I think that the home business is the very definition of Entrepreneurial Capitalism, and I absolutely love the idea of a person embarking upon a venture, starting from scratch, with a few hundred or a few thousand dollars, and turning that into a fortune. I’m Pro-Home Business.

However, I’m Anti-B.S. It absolutely disgusts me the amount of bad information that exists in my industry, and I am convinced that people involved with home businesses fail not because they are stupid, not because they are lazy, but because home-business training and education is of pathetically low-quality. I believe, 100% without doubt that if home-business personnel received the training and education they needed and deserved, that 90% failure rate would flip to a 90% success rate. With that in mind, let’s go ahead and slam-dunk a common un-truth that is all-to-common in this industry.

HOME BUSINESS LIE # 4: “TO REALLY GROW YOUR BUSINESS, HAND OUT BUSINESS CARDS, FLYERS, AND TALK TO EVERYONE YOU MEET (ESPECIALLY IN THE SERVICE INDUSTRY) ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS”

We’ve all been there. We’re sitting at a coffee shop, or we’re at a restaurant, or we’re at the mall, and we see them.

The Networkers.

They’re handing out their card to everyone that walks by. Or they’re jumping in on other people’s conversations, explaining how they can show you the way to financial independence. Maybe they’ll even quote a well-noted author like Robert Kiyosaki as evidence that they have a vehicle with a one-way ticket to billionaireville. They’re just so excited about his opportunity that they’re about to explode, and they’re tying to get you to join them on their trek towards financial utopia.

How do I know this scenario so well? Because I used to be THAT GUY.

Oh, I’m not proud of it. I recall with un-fond memory spending many a Saturday morning making a complete joke of myself, using these very same techniques to try and grow my business. Can you guess what happened?

Yup. It didn’t work.

Not only did I stay broke, but I felt like a total vulture, circling the sea of potential business-builders. It wasn’t that I was a devious or evil person, it was just how I was trained. Hotel meetings. Wasting paper on business cards. I’m sure that if I would have had access to a B-52 bomber, I would have loaded it full of flyers and business cards and dropped my “opportunity bomb” on every major city in the United States. And after, I would have gone straight home to wait for my phone to start ringing, with people on the other end just begging to join my business.

I was that naive.

So what changed? I figured some things out. I figured out how to find my target market. And then I learned how to compete.

Ask yourself this question: would Bill Gates, or Donald Trump, or Larry Ellison try to grow their businesses by bugging people at a coffee shop, and consider that advertising? Does Microsoft employ people to hang out at consumer establishments and attempt to recruit new software users there?

No, they don’t.

Here is what they do: they develop the right message, and send it to the right audience. They have commercials, billboards, online multi-media presentations, radio advertisements. They buy up space on stadium walls, they endorse NASCAR racers, they plaster their name on blimps. They get the message out to the masses, not the occasional purveyor of a Starbucks mocha.

Yeah, I know that you can’t afford to advertise during the super bowl. So what do you do? How do you compete? You compete in environments that level the playing field. There are three of these environments, and mastery in each of these is absolutely mandatory if you hope to grow a fortune from home.

ENVIRONMENT #1- The Telephone. Folks, mastery of the spoken word over the telephone is absolutely essential. Why? Well, first off, the phone is cheap, which seems to be a major stipulation for the average home-business person. VoIP has made the phone laughably affordable, and accessible to all. Then there is the leveling ability of the phone. If I was competing against Enterprise rent-a-car, or if I was competing against Burger King, the fact stands that I have just as much of a chance of success with my commercial versus their commercials in a telephone environment. While they might have the advantages of huge chains that are nationwide, and I only have a few homemade burgers and my own car for rent, I have just as much of a chance to win business as they do when talking to a prospect over the phone. It levels the playing field, because the only obvious thing that stands out in a prospects mind over the phone line is the skill-set of the person they’re talking to. It is this environment that you test and develop the right message, and locate your target market.

ENVIRONMENT #2- The Internet. Too many people think they can just buy a website out in e-world, and all of the sudden their computer is just going to start spitting out money from the monitor. You have to know how to drive traffic to your website, and on your website you must have a compelling message that you have crafted that speaks to the hearts of your target market. The reason you test and develop your message and locate your target market in the phone environment first is because it is a much less expensive process than doing it on the internet. It takes a lot of the guesswork out of the game once you hammer down your message and your audience. You can then channel your efforts to learning how advertising on the internet works, versus trying to develop that skill while simultaneously spending a lot of capital trying to establish your message and audience on the internet.

ENVIRONMENT #3- The Written Word. Copy is by far the most powerful of the three tools, and is the most advanced. It can have the largest financial rewards, and is also the most expensive skill to hone. That’s why it’s last. Once you generate profit over the phone, then expand those profits on the internet, you can start crafting copy that produces residual income like you’ve never imagined. Think of this as an example: Did you ever get to read a Mark Twain or Edgar Allen Poe piece while in school? Most of us have. Those guys have been dead for decades, generations, and still their work is producing huge amounts of income. They have powerful works, and the financial rewards from their efforts are still a reality years after they’ve expired. That’s residual income.

I can absolutely understand if you are thinking that all of this sounds difficult, and here’s the bottom line: building a million-dollar enterprise is not easy. If it was easy, then everyone would be doing it. A home business is never a cake-walk, but it is fundamentally simple. Once you have these three skills down cold, you’re done. You’ve made it. But refusing to attain the skill-set necessary is the equivalent of asking the marketplace to reward you unfairly for your non-effort. And while the market place is fickle and harsh, it is also fair, and the ‘something-for-nothing’ dreams entertained by so many are usually met with reality.
Acknowledge the rules of the marketplace: Get skilled, and get paid.

How One Product Made Me Into a Millionaire: The 4th Thing I Learned

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

When I was working at a gas station in Chandler, Arizona, fixing windshields for a living, making only $30,000 a year, I had all the drive in the world to succeed.

You see, I was in a franchise. I thought that since I had entered into a business of my own and if I worked it hard enough, I would have success. Man, I was dead wrong.

What I learned is that I could have all the drive and determination in the world, but unless I was behind a timeless, constant and steady product, it would be impossible to succeed.

What I am talking about, is an Evergreen product. When I was introduced to the business I am currently in, I quickly learned the power of an evergreen product. An evergreen product is something that is going to be around for a longtime. Everyone has to be able to use it. It must be a product in high demand consistently.

Health and Beauty sectors produce evergreen products. But, take cosmetics for example…that’s only 50% of the market you’re selling to. I was fixing auto glass at a gas station… This service covered more of the market, as both men and woman drive cars. But, I was still very limited. First off…I only had the influx of cars coming into that one particular station. And, second…some customers, even if they did have chips in their windshield, didn’t want my service because they already used another auto servicing center for all their auto needs.

After I got out of the auto glass business and got started with the opportunity I am in now, everything clicked. I saw how two huge markets had come together, creating a winning combination. Hot markets, such as Personal Development and the Internet are not only steady and constant, but will continue to grow consistently for many years to come. As far as both markets are concerned…I believe we’re only at the very beginning.

I made $19,000 my first month introducing Evergreen Products to the market. Last week, I made $73,000 selling the same products.

One thing I found out on my rocky road of researching business opportunities, is to avoid fads. Fads come in fast and go out even faster. They’re unreliable. Take all the diet crazes that bombard us with the newest sure-thing to a slender physique… Imagine what a rollercoaster that would be—sales going up and then falling straight down. Then, you’re done. Your customers are on to the next best thing.

More importantly, I can’t possibly stand behind something that I don’t fully believe in. It has to be a product that produces results, something that truly works, and something that I feel great introducing my clients to. It’s about integrity. Products with integrity stand the test of time.

I hope I have made it extremely simple for you to distinguish between an Evergreen product and something that will let you down. An Evergreen Product must be in place in your business to achieve success.
