Business Opportunity Laws and Multi Level Marketing

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

In a way an MLM or Multi Level Marketing company is similar to a business opportunity, however generally the way the operate is much different. Of course an MLM marketer is a self-employed individual who is buying into a business opportunity. In many ways MLMs fly under the radar in many states due to the amount of buy in?

Many Multi Level Companies have very low buy in costs to join, $100 to $350 or something and you might buy a “Starter Kit″ of sample products, but they are not for resale. It seems such MLM easy to get into business are passed off as risk free money wise. Indeed the costs are low, but it is the time investment that is the killer. MLMs are not easy and those who start out do not make very much of anything until they have a whole bunch of people, who have a whole bunch of people under them. All of whom are all buying products from themselves for them selves and selling a few other products on the side or using them in their businesses. IE Hair Salon puts the products on their retail shelf, because the lady in it, also owns the salon.

There sure is a lot of controversy over MLM companies out there isn’t there. You hear the good, the bad and the ugly, perhaps like anything in life. If you choose an MLM company as your next business then you should study up on them and know the differences between them and the straight business opportunity models. Think on this in 2006.

Advantage Conferences Review

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

Advantage Conferences is a company that was formed based upon Christian principles. Advantage offers a home business opportunity by selling or marketing their conferences through the direct selling industry.

The Advantage product line consists of many different personal and social development conferences put on by an vast array of people. The Advantage Conferences opportunity consists of marketing these conferences for a $7000 price tag.

The Advantage Conferences business opportunity contains an 2-Up compensation plan with a payout of $7000 for every sale made by the qualified affiliate. The issue with the Advantage compensation plan is the requirement of two sales (hence 2-Up). To get started with Advantage Conferences, a new person can pay over $7000 to become an Advantage business associate and then give up $14,000 ($7000 x 2) from their first two qualifying sales to their qualified sponsor. This means they must give up over $21,000 before they can earn any money with the conference program. Another issue with the Conferences 2-Up program is that if you bring in someone who makes a sale or two per day, you only get their first 2 sales and then you no longer get paid on their efforts. They then breakaway from their Advantage sponsor and actually end up becoming their competition. This doesn’t give the qualified Advantage Conferences sponsoring associate much motivation to help the new associate since they will ultimately become competition.

In conclusion, Advantage Conferences seems to be a bit pricey for the seminars and the comp plan leaves more to be desired as well. Some people do well with a 2-Up program, but most struggle. If you are an experienced internet marketer and don’t mind shelling out over $7000 as well as having to pass up your first 2 qualifying sales, then the Advantage Conferences business might be an okay fit for you.

Making Money with Affiliate Programmes and Google AdWords

Thursday, May 31st, 2007

There are many online billing and marketing services that have been created for the development of affiliate programmes. They provide tracking services to enable merchants to pay a designated amount of money to the person who referred the business to the merchant, which serves as a commission payment. They know who the affiliate is because the affiliate uses a special link provided by the affiliate network that uniquely identifies them, and then they track the visitor’s progress through the merchant’s site to the sale of the product.

Google AdWords is one of many pay-per-click services with which you can place advertising at low rates. You write an advertisement for Google AdWords that will appear on the “sponsored links” section of their search results, and you tell Google that you would like your ad shown when somebody searches for specific keywords. You get charged a small fee each time somebody clicks on your advertisement, and thereby visits your designated website.

Link the two together, and what have you got? An easy way of making money quickly! Well, it would be easy if nobody else knew about the technique. The trouble is that hundreds of thousands of people are well aware of this technique to make money, and as a result, lots of ads exist for most worthwhile keywords. If an advertisement is already listed for the keyword that you want to list for, then you must be prepared to pay more per click than that advertiser to get your advertisement listed, and then the costs of advertising ramp up.

If you can get in first with an advertisement campaign, you have an advantage. Google AdWords rewards advertisers who write copy that attracts clicks by lowering the cost per click that these advertisers have to pay to get their ads listed near the top of the list. This way, ads can build up history. One way of getting into this market is by striking while the iron is hot. If you can find a vendor that has just started an affiliate programme, you may be able to get in with a good ad before anyone else does.

ClickBank is a famous payment processor and affiliate network tracker that have over 10,000 downloadable goods available. There are plenty of products available through ClickBank that can be marketed in this way, and new vendors are coming along all the time. Commission Junction are another famous network that provide a similar tracking and commission-payment service with new products quickly coming in, and there are plenty of others. Some organisations like Amazon operate their own affiliate tracking network indeed, Amazon made the model popular. Those affiliate marketers who are successful sometimes achieve that success by finding these new products, and marketing them before anybody else does. In this way, they maximise their chances of generating autopilot income.

David Thomas is a web publisher who runs a website dedicated to revealing the techniques involved in successfully making money on the web. He has just started the world’s first free list of new ClickBank vendors that lists not only new product vendors, but also information required by advertisers to start campaigns. Find out more at theaffiliatemarketer.net/category/clickbank-news/ TheAffiliateMarketer.net/category/clickbank-news/ where new vendor lists are posted daily, and start making money today!

Who wouldn’t like to earn extra income at home? There are millions of people on the internet that want or needs extra money and most of them want it the easy way. There are a few web sites with millions of affiliates (good people that didn’t know any better and got scammed) that offer work-at-home opportunities to make “easy money”.

These fulltime expert scammers know how to get people’s attention and get them excited about parting with their money. They will either offer you a lot of freebies and/or sell their products at a very low price between $9.95 - $29.95. And that’s how scam artists earn extra income at home.

I was misled by all the hype (testimonials, guarantees, “work when you want” phrases) into believing that it was a lot easier than it really is.

You’ve heard or read it before, “I only work 3 days a week and bring in huge profits″. Let’s be real for a minute. How many people, that you know, earn huge incomes only working 3 days. The whole idea of having an Internet Business is to have it up and running 24/7.

Most folks find themselves in need of additional income, but don’t have the time to take on a second job. When this happens, it’s time to get creative and find ways to earn extra income at home. Are We Having Fun Yet?

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

You’d better be!

If you want your online business to survive and thrive, you need to be having fun! At least several times each week, potential clients call me for business ideas or suggestions for “things to sell″ online. They don’t have a business concept or a product they believe in. They are just looking for some way to jump on the online bandwagon and get their hands on the supposed riches everyone else is making.

When asked this question, I tell them my story about how I got into the whole Web/Internet thing in the first place. Back in early 1994 when most folks hadn’t heard of “online” and there were things like IRC, bulletin boards and very slow modems, I got hooked on CompuServe.

I remember telling anyone who would listen how much fun it was to use (the speed of connectivity wasn’t an issue back then) and how I just knew that this technology would change business and our world forever. I got used to the “deer in the headlights” look that came over their faces.

Needless to say my family, friends and most of the folks on the block thought I was nuts! Their eyes would glaze over after 10 seconds of me trying to explain how it worked and what the potential was. I didn′t care, it was so much fun, I could burst! My better half at the time and to this day was the only one who recognized that sparkle in my eye to know that I was on to something.

So, I opened my little studio in a small rural town’s downtown district in December of 1994. They didn′t want me there. They thought the Internet was “evil” and I was about hooking up children with pedophiles, credit card fraud and creating adult Web sites. But I didn′t care - I was having fun! You name the stereotype and I was confronted with it. Regardless of the resistance I couldn′t wait to get up and get to the office and enjoy each moment of every day.

Even if it meant dealing with those who would stop by with comments such as “you really think this fad is going to last?” To which I would reply “Fad? I’ll catch you in 10 years when this technology has changed the world as you know it!” The time flew by and each day was a blur. My better half would have to give me a call around 7-8pm reminding me it was time to come home.

Starting my business, growing it and keeping it healthy in an online arena saturated with experts and gurus hasn′t been easy. But I am having fun! Incorporating and filling out all those legal documents and quarterly returns for the past 10 years has been a real pain. But it doesn′t matter; I’m having fun! Dealing with skeptics, criticism and the ongoing challenges that having any business will entail are all there. Who cares? I’m having fun!

If you want to start an online business, you simply cannot do it for the monetary gain alone. Yes, we all strive to make a good income but if you’re not having fun, you’ll never see the money. See, it is the having fun part that gives you the courage and wherewithal to ride the waves of good and bad, ups and downs and inconsistent income when you first start out.

If you are not having fun, you simply will not have the passion to get through the tough times and decisions that will have to be made. Your customers and clients will come to rely on your enthusiasm (which comes from having fun) for the confidence and encouragement they need to do business with you.

What is your hobby?
What do you enjoy doing?
Have you invented a better way to do something?
Are you passionate about a solution that solves problems?
Is there a product you’ve used yourself and love?
Do you have valuable experience to share?

Then build a business on that and you’ll thrive because you will have the emotional and principled commitment to make things happen. Think about what you have fun doing and think of a way to turn that into a business. Now you’re thinking! Look, you’re having fun already!

The Web is filled with folks trying to make a buck who aren’t having any fun. You can tell by their poor presentations, their lack of decent service levels and commitment to quality. The ones who aren’t having any fun and are just going for the bucks cut corners every chance they get and complain about the latest challenge technology offers because they don’t enjoy or believe in what they are doing. Just show them the money! Within a short time their site is shutdown and they′ve wasted a lot of time and expense.

For those who are having fun, you know what I mean. You′re on the other side of this screen with that smirk on your face because you′ve been there, done that. You know that when you are having fun you are working harder, learning daily and more focused on your goals than anyone you know. You also happened to be happier, more grounded and a more enjoyable person to be around. Your customers love you and your business thrives because you are having fun!

I′m having fun! Actually, after over 10 years I′m still having a blast! How about you?

Home Based Business Opportunities

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

There have been times in my past where I have made hasty decisions and ended up burned and a little lighter in the pocket book. So when I decided to start my own home Internet business I decided to take my time and look at the various opportunities available.

In comparing the different opportunities I had one main constraint, “cost”. I did not have the $200 - $300 to spend on many of the money making systems available and from previous experience I discovered that spending more doesn’t always mean you are getting a quality proven product. Typically, they would get me hooked and then I would have to continue to purchase marketing materials month after month until the well was completely dry and I had to abandon my venture.

When I cam across the Ultimate Wealth Package I was a bit skeptical, especially from the hype of the sales letter. It is obvious to most that making money takes work and I was no exception. After reading what the Ultimate Wealth Package had to offer I decided to give it a try. It only cost me around $50 and it did come with a money back guarantee so I really had nothing to lose.

Being a newbie to making money on the Internet I found that the Ultimate Wealth Package contained valuable information on various Internet business opportunities. After reading the program I was able to understand the potential to making money online and I was excited to get started. The Ultimate Wealth Package did not answer all my questions and I still had to learn through trial and error but I did get my home Internet business off the ground and it has been over a year now and I am making money, not enough to retire but enough to keep motivated and see that the sky is the limit if I continue to learn and work on my home Internet business.

I had to learn the hard way that there is not easy way to making money and there are scammers out there trying to tell you different. Unfortunately they know that most of us make decisions based on emotions and even greed. Look past the hype and at the benefits of the product being offered, if you can do this you may save yourself some disappointment in the end. If you are considering starting a home Internet business and not familiar with making money online the Ultimate Wealth Package is a good place to start.

Things to Consider Before Firing Your Boss

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

One drawback to having a home based business is that unless you have a partner, and most home based business owners don’t, you won’t have anyone to back you up in case of illness or an emergency. Finding someone to help you out when you want to take a vacation can also be difficult for home based business owners. So it’s you’d be wise to have a backup plan that ensures your home based business will continue to operate if you must be away for any reason or just need to get away to recharge your batteries.

Another disadvantage to owning a home based business is that you have to wear a great many more hats than you would generally have to wear in a conventional business. Most home based business owners have to not only manage their business, but also see to all the details that go with it, everything from answering the phone to filling orders to accounting to taking out the trash. And it’s easy, especially when first starting a home based business, to feel overwhelmed by it all. By being aware of this in the beginning, you’ll be more prepared when those feelings hit and able to manage them better.

Having a home based business can also cause family difficulties. Few businesses operate on the traditional nine-to-five schedule these days. This is especially true for people who work at home at a home based business because they often have to take care of paperwork and similar tasks in the evening hours. And without fail, the phone will ring at inopportune times. Even with the best of intentions, a home based business will affect family members and inconvenience them from time to time. Preparing your family members in advance and alerting them to what to expect when your home based business is up and running will help everyone involved.

Then there’s the fact that it can be lonely running a home based business. Many people don’t think of this when they trade their conventional jobs to work at home. And while solitary work appeals to many, it just isn’t right for others. So before you start your own home based business, it’s good to consider your own needs here. Do you enjoy being with people a lot? Are the discussions around the water cooler the high point of your day? If so, a home based business may not be for you. If you decide it is, you should still make plans that will allow you to interact with people or at least get out of the house occasionally.

Which brings up a final pitfall to having a home based business. When you work at home, it’s very, very difficult to develop a work and life balance. Your home is also your office, and this makes it hard to keep your work life and your home life separate. It’s too easy to skip the movie you were going to watch with the kids and go to your home office and tackle that paperwork that’s nagging at you. Many home based business owner find they’re actually working far more hours than they did when they were employed elsewhere. Most of them don’t mind because they get so many rewards from owning their own home business. Still, it’s wise before starting a home based business to think about how much time you realistically want to spend working and what hours of the day are best for you—and your family. Many people arrange to do as much work as possible during the hours their family is asleep or away at work and school. This makes it possible for them to spend quality time with their families without worrying about getting their work done. A little planning here goes a long way in not only making you a successful home based business owner, but also a happy, well-balanced one.

Cleaning Your Small Business Carpets

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Day by day you build your small business walking back and forth over the same actions and activities. Certain aspects of your business become fixed in place with everything else being stacked around them. I was reminded of this as I prepared our home for a complete carpet cleaning.

The amount of accumulated extra stuff I moved in preparation for the carpet cleaning crew was far more than I could have imagined. But, what was most impressive was the efficiency with which the crew prepared their tools for the carpet cleaning. In less than two hours, six rooms and two hallways later, the job was done. Well done. The carpets looked great and I felt inspired and ready to enjoy our home.

What’s this got to do with my small business? Although I know I′ve got a lot of stuff I no longer need and could certainly change some of my business habits, I observed a crew of two put the right equipment in place and execute the job using an efficient plan. The entire job was done to my complete satisfaction. What would happen if I used the same approach to achieve my small home based business goals?

Is it time to give your small business a good “carpet” cleaning?
