Stuffing Envelopes-Scam or Real Opportunity

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Nobody enjoys wasting time on “Envelope Stuffing” programs (or any other work at home programs) that turn out to be scams.

Whether you’re a “work at home mom”, “retired”, “a business tycoon″ or just “someone looking for a job”, home business opportunities are a great way to increase your income without significantly increasing your work load.

Working smarter not harder is where we all want to go!

Working smarter isn’t all that easy when trying to get through all the hype that most advertisers use. The reality that you will have to pay a non-refundable registration fee and then find out that there isn’t anything available “in your area” or “now you have to invest more money” etc. is not very enjoyable. Isn’t there a better way?

I simply believe that there are programs that do work well and will work no matter where you live. They have to be legal. They may not be “get rich quick schemes”! (I have always been suspect of that phrase!) They may even take some time and effort to develop, but they have to be out there.

In my life I have discovered that anyone willing to expand how they think about things, and to change what they do about it, is on their way to success!

Why would anyone be willing to “learn the hard way” when someone else has already done the investigating for them. In fact I saw a manual that teaches you how to start your own “envelope stuffing” business and learn quickly how to make lots of money. Unlike some other programs that pay you per envelope stuffed (which is only a small portion of the profits made) this manual teaches you how to start your own business and get All The Profits.

On top of that wouldn’t it be great to have someone giving you the right information to help you keep your business venture moving smoothly? Yes, of course!

There are people who do just that! In fact that is the niche that I have found for me.

Fred has spent many years looking for better ways to do things. He has created a web site offering “Work at Home” programs that realy work. Check it out at workathomeop.com/ workathomeop.com/

So You Want To Start A Home Business

Monday, April 30th, 2007

So you want to start a home business, and don’t know where to begin. Like any other business, research the company your interested in. Find out all you can about their business practices, their creditability, what they offer and exactly what you will be doing in this home business.

When researching a business, keep in mind these 3 red flags:

1. Introduction Material Costs Money.

This information should be free. It introduces the company, tells what they do, what they offer, and how to sign up.

2. Promise of Getting Rich Quickly in Less Than 10 hours a Week.

Though it is possible, it isn’t probable. It takes time to build a business and clientele. You should expect to work more than 10 hours a week, and it take awhile to build any income.

3. Limited Time Offers.

A company is making promises (especially of quick wealth), but you only have a certain amount of time to enroll I’d take a step back and reevaluate the situation. Generally, these are scams.

There are reputable companies that use some of these techniques, just make sure to do your research. My best advices is look for a business that interests you, do the research to enable you to make the best decision possible, have realistic expectations, and enjoy your endeavors.

Internet Marketing and Your Home Based Business

Monday, April 30th, 2007

All of you home based business entrepreneurs that are trying to make a living working from home know the problems encountered through Internet marketing and trying to get your web page noticed in order to increase traffic and ultimately revenues. Some people just blindly pay a lot of money for advertising, and those who don’t have an advertising budget often times do not advertise at all. Both of these are detrimental to your business, and it does not have to be as difficult as you are making it.

There are many innovative and creative ways to market your products and services inexpensively if not free, so spending a lot of money on it could be wasteful. But if you have no money to spend you may be dooming your business to fail by not advertising. People in this situation should be diligent about searching out all the options for free advertising.

When it comes to advertising, there are many options online and offline that will help you spread the word about your Web page and your product and you will increase traffic and revenues because of it.

First, check out offline venues like local newspapers, television stations, radio stations and the like for free advertisements. Often times these mediums are looking for new local businesses to highlight in their business sections and/or discussions. This is free advertisement and something you should cash in on immediately. Also, make sure your URL is on all of the printed material you use in regard to your business whether it is stationary or free gifts. Having your URL out there will help people remember your address and be more likely to check out what you have to offer.

In addition, while you are making your URL well known, make sure your web page is professional and accommodating to consumers. Make sure that the checkout process is easy and convenient as well as secure. Using payment systems like Paypal might be a good idea for you as well because it allows a variety of payment methods in many different currencies.

Advertising online also does not have to be expensive. You can submit newsletters to online ezines and the like with a resource box with your information, trade links with other relevant web pages, and other ideas similar to this. Certainly, you can do banners and other advertising, but if you don’t have much of a budget try all of the free options before you start paying money you do not have. As you grow, your advertising budget can grow as well.

As long as you are creative and proactive in finding inexpensive and/or free advertising your business will grow, your revenues will grow and you will not be spending much at all on advertising. Remember, the more people that are aware of your web page increases traffic, referrals and ultimately purchases. Make sure your URL is visible to as many people as possible in as many places as possible.

Doing What Comes Naturally in your Home Business

Monday, April 30th, 2007

No, this is not going to be a racy article, but it is a valid comparison of the topic at hand. For those who are native English speakers, that phrase in my title usually has to do with reproduction. That’s a topic I want to discuss with you in your home business.

When I got started thinking about my home business, I came from a technical background. I got to thinking about all the complex ways I would leverage my skills and setup a marketing system for my home business that would be ….well in my opinion, genius.

I got to figuring out all of how I was going to put this system together, and then it dawned on me as I was listening to a trainer in the home business area. This trainer was making the point that when attracting people to your home business, they have to see at least two things right from the beginning: The first is abbreviated like a radio station – WIIFM – or What’s in it for Me?

The second thing people want to see is that they can do it too! It hit me at that point that if I was working on some great marketing system that took a lot of the skills I have been blessed with, then it would require someone with at least as much technical skill as me to reproduce what I had done.

That’s why I picked the title. Reproduction is vital to many home businesses that are leveraged or networked. Whatever system you use for your home business, if you want others to join in and have success, then they have to be able to reproduce what you have done.

Whatever system you have for marketing your business opportunity has to be reproducible. Not only is it not a good idea to use some very complex technical system, it is also a bad idea to invest some huge amount of money into marketing, and then expect to attract people into your home business that want to be able to do it with little money.

If you haven’t yet joined a home business opportunity, be aware of the process you go through when you learn about one and decide if it is for you. Look for one that has a very reproducible system for growing your home business. If you can find that, then you have more of a mass appeal to many people from all walks of life and economic statuses.

No matter how good a product is, or how great a compensation plan offered, make sure every part of this home business opportunity is reproducible by the type of people you are looking to as your market. From marketing to enrolling to training – the best system is easy to use, and won’t scare people away or discourage them. Keep looking, there are many reproducible businesses out there!

What To Look For In Your MLM Sponsor

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

Picking a winning MLM team and mentor is absolutely critical to your success. Not as critical as you determining within yourself that you WILL be successful…. But critical none-the-less.

So what should you look for in your MLM sponsor? Simple….Leadership. Are they a leader? Are they the type of human being where you could honestly say “This person has great value to offer me, and I would gladly follow them.”

Because if you can say that….so will all your future prospects and business partners. And in MLM, people are everything. Our whole business is built around people, and people follow people. Not your company, not your new super duper product, not your triple binary quadruple bonus compensation plan….They join PEOPLE.

By finding the type of sponsor that you feel is very confident on the phone, has high energy, is very positive, and exuberates a Success Mentality; you will make growing a successful MLM organization much easier on yourself.

There is nothing worse then getting your fresh new prospect on the phone and having your supposed “expert” upline sound like a moron. Trust me.

Pay attention to all the fine details when you talk to your new potential sponsor. Sincerity in their voice, compassion, kindness, confidence, intelligence, determination; all the things you feel attracted to. If you feel attracted in some way to that person your off to a good start. If you don’t feel very attracted to the type of person they are….you probably want to keep looking.

Finding the right sponsor is just one element to getting yourself off on the right foot when starting your new MLM business. But the right sponsor can be a powerful component in helping you to achieve what it is your really looking for.

Learn From Your Past MLM Mistakes

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

There is A LOT to learn from our failures and mistakes of the past. That is certainly true in all of life and MLM is no different.

The definition of Insanity is continuing to repeat the same actions yet expect different results from repeating those same actions. So here is my advice to you…If you have been doing something in your MLM business and it HAS NOT been working…then it is time to DO something Different.

Often times in this industry it is preached to make your “list”, buy generic leads and cold call them, or hassle anyone within 3 feet of you. If that’s working for you to build your business then all the power to you! But if its not…then you need to learn something else.

What you NEED to learn how to do is successful MARKET your business…so you can put your offer in front of the RIGHT people, and expand your business endlessly. In other words put the Marketing into network marketing.

Marketing is the missing piece of the equation in most MLM businesses. It takes more then just your warm market to successfully grow a substantial income. It takes skills and abilities to generate endless interested prospects, and close those interested prospects into your business.

This is what the smartest network marketers who are LEARNING from their past mistakes, and the mistakes of the industry, are doing today. They realize that there is a reason most businesses fail and its because those businesses don’t have enough customers or distributors. Once you learn how to successful market your business…that problem disappears!

What Online Business Is The Best To Be In?

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

If you started surfing for ‘Business Opportunities’ now and carried on surfing a new site every 30 seconds or so non-stop for the next 25 years you will have still only seen a small percentage of all the Biz Ops programs available….heck! there should be an opportunity for me to make some money somewhere then?

But out of ALL of these business opportunities — in any field — at least one thing remains totally constant to ensure success….Focus! The more you do something the better you get at it.

The BIG problem is that it is virtually impossible to maintain a focus on one thing. By the very fact of being in a business (ANY business) online you need to be online to maintain the business and by being online you will inevitably be exposed to advertising, promotions, services, products and programs –ALL of which will be promising new and better opportunities.

I personally have on average 150 or so E-mail messages in my primary inbox every day (up to 2000 in my secondary one!) and I diligently go through them every day to try to weed out the import messages that need responding to. There is NO way though that I can go through this list of E-mails and not click on the more enticing ones that promise me ever easier ways to make money.

One click then leads to another (you know what I am talking about here) and before long an hour or even two have passed and you (I) have achieved NOTHING — except be disillusioned with what you are (I am) already doing!

I have spent the past 18months ‘wasting’ my time doing this. I will put something in motion, then see something else and have a go at that instead (or as well as), then something else comes along always better, bigger, easier etc.

As I said earlier the more you do something the better you get at it, so I am proclaiming my status as a ‘tried that, tried that, tried that’ etc …Guru. I am definitely the expert to talk to about ‘wasting’ time, money and energy on chasing a dream in an Online business.

Actually my time, effort and money have NOT been wasted! Although I have not achieved the wealth I would have had I put all my resources into ONE home business opportunity, I have LEARNED and experienced a great deal.

All online businesses (unless you are involved in passive income streams like HYIPs or
you’re filling surveys and the like) NEED Traffic – the life blood of any enterprise, you will NOT be successful without this. Also you need a good sales letter and marketing techniques — a good product or service helps (but is not essential to success).

It really does not matter what you eventually become involved in Focus and Persistence are the two main attributes you will require – whatever else you are lead to believe! Having multi-streams of income is the mantra of successful online entrepreneurs and, of course, this is highly desirable, however, building ONE thing at a time should be your main business plan.

Of course you cannot learn from MY mistakes — you learn by doing — but it WILL save you time, effort, frustration and considerable expense if you took my advice. And, apart from reiterating that Focus is the MAIN requirement to achieving success (in anything!) my advice is to IGNORE hype.

NOTHING – I promise you - is as good as it is made out to be in the hyped up and exaggerated sales letters. Personally I think it is TOTALLY counter-productive to claim the BEST scenario that a product or service can produce if that ‘BEST’ scenario can ONLY be achieved by the odd outstanding individual and is not a typical or common achievement. It ALWAYS leads to disappointment and disillusionment.

You know the deal — earn $30,000 per month with only 5 referrals…(IF those 5 referrals get 5, who get 5, who get 5, 20 levels deep etc — which is VERY unlikely.) A more typical income would be $200.00 - $300.00 per month. Personally I would still buy or opt-in to something that promised me these more realistic results, especially if they were commonly achievable by ordinary (me) people!

I wish you good luck in your Internet ventures — but remember it’s a ‘minefield’ out there…

10 Keys to Creating a Profitable Online Business

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

Starting an online business is not always as easy as it may sound. But, running an online business has many benefits over its offline counterpart. First, and the most appealing, is you′ll most likely be working from home from your own computer, and working the hours that suit you. And secondly, you have the potential to make a lot more money than you would if you were working for someone else.

Before embarking on an online entrepreneurial quest for the perfect home-based business, it’s advisable to look at the array of online business opportunities available, and decide which would be the most suitable for you. While it’s quite conceivable, that the most profitable and legitimate type of online businesses can be operated successfully by one person, most involve a collaboration of skills and input.

For the individual, making money online is a very real prospect, but there are some important factors that should be considered before taking that first vital step.

1. Should you sell a service?

Unless you have a well-developed skill such as, web design, graphics design, writing or some other creative or artistic flair, you’ll have to concentrate on finding or creating a product.

In selling your services, you must first determine whether a paying market actually exists for your services. Initially, you’ll need to do some research and look at similar services being offered. A good indicator is usually when there are numerous similar services available. This would suggest a buoyant market, but it’s not always the case. A friendly yet inquisitive email sent to a few established service providers in the business you’re considering, should give you an insight.

Take a good look at the existing competition. Look at the quality of their work. Could you do it better? What prices are they charging? Could you do it cheaper? If you can effectively do either of these you’re on your way to building online wealth.

2. Should you sell a product?

More people than ever buy products online, but the main thing to consider is whether you want to sell a tangible product or a virtual product.

As with selling a service, you must first determine whether a market exists for your product. Look at similar products then decide whether there’s room for another player. All products will have to be sold through a website, from which an order can be taken and a payment can be processed. If you have the knowledge and necessary skills, you can easily build the website yourself. Otherwise you will have to pay a professional.

A tangible product is something that can be held in the hand, therefore it will also need to be packed and shipped. Processing orders is very time consuming, but more importantly you may have to keep inventory, which can be very expensive plus you’ll need to find storage space.

An alternative is to sell virtual products. These include downloadable e-books, videos and information products. You’ll still need a website with ordering and credit card processing facilities, but you will not need to keep any inventory and it won′t take up any space (except on your computer’s hard drive) Many successful Internet marketers use this method to maximum effect.

3. Selling someone else’s product

Some of the best online business opportunities are very simple to set up and run. The first of these is affiliate marketing. You simply find some existing products that are being successfully sold on the Internet, and sign up for their affiliate program. Basically, this is straight-forward process. You complete an online application form and you’re given a reference number, which you can embed into your marketing links. The host company will also track your sales and pay you commissions. All you have to do is sell their products.

Some people go overboard on affiliate programs, trying to sell anything and everything they can sign up for. It’s advisable to concentrate on a few related items such as e-books on a similar subject. When that enterprise begins to make money online, start all over again with a set of different products. With careful consideration and clever marketing, affiliate programs can be the perfect way of making money online. A good place to start is www.clickbank.com

4. Buying a business or franchise

If you’d prefer to buy a readymade business, there are many to choose from. Some established and profitable Internet businesses will gladly sell you a franchise. This will most likely be a clone of their existing business, but beware! Owning a franchise business on the Internet will prove useless unless you have territorial rights. The problem with online franchises is your limitations on what you can sell. You must sign an agreement with the franchisor, that you, the franchisee will only sell their range of products. Check out the various franchise opportunities at www.usatoday.franchisesolutions.com

5. Online investment opportunities

Not strictly a business opportunity, but investing in real estate or stocks and shares has become big business in itself. The Internet has opened up all kinds of opportunities for investors, and it’s so easy to go online and find stock brokers willing to advise you where to put your hard-earned cash for the maximum return. The big consideration with investing is to remember that prices can fall just as quickly as they rise. For all the information you need on investments, visit www.investorguide.com

6. Finding the right market

Whatever service or product you decide to offer your online customers, you must first establish whether there’s a need for it. If there is, you′ll have to work on an effective strategy of getting your product in front of your prospect ahead of the competition.

It’s been proven time and again that small is big. The small or niche market has been responsible for many people making a nice profit from the Internet. It’s as well to remember, that a niche market on the internet could number well over a million potential customers. Just 5% of a market this size, each buying a product with a $10 profit margin, would return $500,000 in profits.
A few examples of niche markets might be: Holidays for singles over 40, sports and fashion wear for children 6-24 months or easy car maintenance for lady drivers.

7. Online Auctions

The phenomenal success of online auctions, eBay in particular, is unprecedented. Not only are the online auction companies making large profits, they give everyone an opportunity to sell something to anyone anywhere in the world. From fashion accessories to collectibles and sports equipment to memorabilia, there appears to be a market, although limited, for everything.

The key to success here is to buy wholesale and sell volume. When you′ve got to the point of making good money from online auctions, simply write a book and tell everyone else how you did it. To get started in online auctions, go to eBay, click on wholesale, buy some stock and resell individually back on eBay.

8. Paid Surveys

Some people might not consider clicking boxes alongside questions a valid business opportunity. But if you consider it work, and the survey companies are willing to pay you, then it must be a form of business to be considered. It’s something almost anyone can do, doesn′t require any specialist knowledge or skill and can be done from anywhere.

The downside is, it’s tedious and won’t make you a fortune. However, it’s the ideal part-time opportunity for people with a few hours to spare or to run alongside a new venture during the ‘quiet’ periods. To sign up for online surveys visit: www.surveyclub.com

9. Enthusiasm, Commitment and Self-Discipline

Looking at the various online business opportunities and how you should evaluate them is only part of the equation for online wealth building. Working for yourself in your home-based business will require real enthusiasm, commitment and copious amounts of self-discipline. Whichever route or opportunity you consider, all will require a degree of ‘do-ability’.

Be prepared to spend more time at your computer, especially in the early months, building your business and getting your products in front of likely prospects. If you do it right, an online business can pay you big monetary rewards.

10. Accounting the costs

If you plan to set up and run an online business as your main source of income, beware! The tax man cometh! An online business is no different to a bricks and mortar business, in the eyes of the IRS. If you establish an online business and you’re making a full-time income, don’t forget to inform the authorities. You must have a business name, although this could be your own name, preferably a business bank account and you’ll need to inform the IRS.

You’ll need to keep records of all your business transactions for accounting purposes and you’ll need to set aside a percentage of your profits to cover taxes. Microsoft’s Excel program is perfect for keeping records of this nature, but don’t forget to keep a back-up of your files, just in case. The message here is to play it straight and keep it legal.

Of all the things you should consider, when planning to start an online business, the most important is undoubtedly marketing. Marketing strategies can make or break a business.

Are You Experienced Enough To Start A Home Business?

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

The business gurus will tell you: if you start with what you know your chances of success will be much greater. Okay, but suppose you want to try something new, something drastically different from your present career or a business that is way outside the your realm of experience? Should having no knowledge of that business stop you from pursuing it?
My answer is a resounding ‘No!’ You can start cold turkey and still be wildly successful.

When trying to make a decision about starting your own business, you will find yourself asking one of these questions:

* “How much experience do I need to start a home business?”

* “Do I have enough experience to start a home business?”

Textbook don′t answer these questions. You can either go ahead hoping for the best, or you can go slowly analyzing every little step.

It is possible to go from being a bricklayer to a successful Internet Guru. There are true stories of partially educated teenagers who stumble on to a bright idea and become wildly successful.

A growing number of stay-at-home moms travel way out of their comfort zones into the untried world of business. Yet without prior preparation or knowledge of the world they were entering, met with stunning success. It is just a matter of how willing you are to take risks and educate yourself.

Stone Evans had no knowledge of the Home Business Industry when he started working as an affiliate, yet he persevered. Now his PlugInProfit Sites are famous and I’m sure he is enjoying his well-earned success.

One of the important personal traits of an entrepreneur is the willingness to explore new horizons, take risks and accept responsibility for the risks taken. An entrepreneur needs to be good at self-motivation, or have the characteristic that gets and keeps a person moving even when things seem dismal. It is this trait that will enable you to continue despite drawbacks, like very little capital, lack of education or limited experience.

Don’t get me wrong; knowledge and expertise are important. Studies have shown that lack of business experience is one of the major reasons for the failure of any business. So, if you are the kind of person who likes to analyze your options then take time to evaluate all the factors, then stick with your preferences.

If you think that you need more business experience, there are a number ways to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge for your venture. You can scour the Internet for education packages, or you could choose to get on-the-job training to give you some hands-on experience in your field of interest by teaming up with someone who already has an online business. There are definite advantages to working with someone else in your industry of choice. You “earn as you learn,” while you increase your chances of becoming known online, which makes it much easier when you decide to go it alone.

Approach obstacles like learning how to run a home business or a new aspect of home business management, as an exciting challenge and meet the challenge head-on. Many of the successful entrepreneurs who started their ventures, did so without fully understanding the mechanics involved, like them you must motivate yourself to learn whatever is necessary to accomplish your goals.

Take the initiative! Learn everything you can about your prospective business - the product or service that you plan to sell, the niche you are thinking of entering, your competition and your prospective market. Be sure to do your homework.

If you possess common sense, the ability to learn new skills, are enthusiastic about taking risks, or have the courage to venture into the unknown, and the persistence to continue - you should be able to overcome the initial lack of expertise and be wildly successful. Have faith in yourself and determine come what may, you will have your own home business.

Resolve within yourself to meet the daily challenges with courage, giving the best you have to give. Running a successful home business is not magic, it is about finding the information you need, then putting it into practice, one step at a time.
