Everyone’s Getting Rich Here!

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Have you seen the headers telling you that you’ll get rich overnight or maybe in a few years? Sure you have and all while working from home!

Listen folks, the truth of the entrepreneurship spirits, full fledge die hard entrepreneur’s, diligent, dedicated, disciplined (what I call the three D’s) and a massively strong desire to rise to the top of their mess of a life and pull their pants up just like the rest of us and get busy, are those who will make it big! However not overnight, that would be a rare case!

Training is a part of this entire recipe to get rich, but you can have all the training and education in the world and still end up on welfare because you just don’t have the drive and love of what you do. Education isn’t all it’s about! You can be the most book smart person on this earth and still make dumb decisions. So use your common sense and listen to your heart on this! You and only you will tell you what to do and what you love to do, not anyone else.

The thing about all of this network marketing, MLM, home business is that you must have the desire and enjoy what you are doing, otherwise go get a J.O.B. that you hate. Don’t waste your time and money or any one else’s if it’s not in your blood. It’s okay if it’s not, but at least working a J.O.B. is some security and you can mindlessly go about your monotonous work day and you can count on a paycheck at the end of the week. If you hate your home business, you won’t make it and most likely end up loosing money and ending up with your “God I hope everyone thinks this is a credit or debit card” food card! Save your tail before it get’s bitten off by this big monster of a business.

Now network marketing is not a monster at all. It is just as large as life and if you don’t take care of yourself you can get in trouble. Why were you taught to look both ways before crossing the street? You could get hit by a car and you’ll cease to exist right? Well, if you don’t look both ways before joining a network marketing home business you could loose your life savings quick! Just as anything in life you need to equip yourself with the right stuff so you don’t get banged around. Now don’t get freaked out about this because just as gracious and precious as life can be, so can network marketing. It’s all in your control and don’t forget that! Not your sponsors or upline’s control … yours!

When you get up in the morning and you just can’t wait to jump on your computer and get rolling you got the burning love for network marketing! If you don’t there are only three reasons why that might be. #1: You love your business, but are clinically depressed for other reasons. #2: You hate your home business and that’s that! #3: You are loosing sleep because you want to push yourself to keep going 24/7 in your new home business and just can’t stand to lose even a minute away! In that case, take a break man! You’re worth nothing to yourself and your business all strung out!

Just take a good look at yourself and listen to your heart. If this isn’t for you then there is something else. Maybe you know without a doubt that you ARE an entrepreneur! So try photography or the arts! Don’t ever give up on your burning desire no matter what it is. But with network marketing, it can go so fast that you can easily lose yourself with all your hopes and dreams of being free of money issues that you’ll loose out. You’ll get caught up with the big guys (by the way are just like you and I) making tons of money and what they have, you’ll let your own personal desire go out the window just to get there too.

Point blank … don’t loose who you are, what you love to do, your dreams, hopes and aspirations just for a quick buck! Listen to your heart and have fun with life, no matter what that might be! Take pride in yourself no matter what! Take pride in your J.O.B. or even home business even if you are making dirt at the moment. It’s about your efforts! If you’re lost, take control of YOU and seek the help you need. It’s all up to you and about you (and of course your clients) in this biz!

Travel Along For A Day In The Life Of A Professional Wildlife Manager Part 2

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Another catch awaited me. This time it was a woodpecker in a trap. Here in Colorado, woodpeckers can be very destructive to a home. In short order, a home can be hammered with holes and the poor homeowner left with no idea of how they are going to deal with the problem.

With woodpeckers being a protected bird, I had to go through the proper channels before we could do a control program.

I pulled up to the house and could see the bird in a trap. This trap was the end of the road for the woodpecker as there was no relocation for these guys. They are territorial and would be right back to the home again and continue damaging it.

I removed the bird, reset the trap and loaded the truck back up. I identified the bird and sexed it, documented the capture and what the disposition would be. We took all of our birds to a sanitary landfill and that met the legal requirements of disposal.

After the paperwork was done, I quickly checked my schedule to figure out where I needed to be next. As I was doing so, the phone rang. It was someone with a lost dog. I couldn’t help them with that, so I referred them over to the proper agency. Sometimes people think that a wildlife guy is the dog catcher, too!

I put the truck in gear and headed to the next job. This one was going to be fun. The owners heard something in a wall. It was scratching and they were concerned that it was going to come through the wall and eat them. Everything is going to eat them or jump on them or attack them. It was my job to assure them that this was not going to happen and make things right in their world.

It was another 20 minute ride down the road to the next stop and I arrived again ahead of schedule. I was never one to be late. My client’s time was just as valuable as mine and I held myself to that standard and called them if I was going to be late.

I came to the client’s home and looked it over from the outside. It seemed to be pretty tight fitting and nothing obvious.

I rang the bell and waited for someone to answer. It wasn’t long before the door swung open and the lady said, “I am so glad to see you! This thing is driving me crazy!”

It was not the first time that I had heard that response before. Sometimes people would be so frustrated by just trying to find you that they would be about ready to burst when you came in the door.

She invited me in and took me over to the place in the wall where the noise was coming from. I asked her when was the last time she had heard it and she replied “About 2 days ago”. “Two days, huh” I replied. Thinking out loud,” it has either gotten out of the wall void or has died.”

I retreated to my truck to gather my tools for what was going to be an interesting inspection. Carving holes in someone’s wall was always interesting! I brought all my stuff inside and rolled out a drop cloth, scanned the wall, pulled out my drywall saw and started to make a cut with the precision of a surgeon. I opened up a hole large enough to inspect what was inside (this was before we had the fancy scopes that we have today) and didn’t find anything!

This is the time that always makes you a little ancy, as well as your client. Time to make a new hole! I moved over a stud, scanned again and pierced the drywall. I popped a small hole in and there it was! A rat that was in the process of decaying. Fortunately for me and her, it had only been dead a day or so.

With the dead rat in the wall, there was only one thing to do and that was to remove it. It came out easily enough. I then buttoned up the wall. My client was about to go into hysterics by this time and asked me if I thought there were more. I told her that it was possible and asked her if she would mind if I took a look around the place. Without hesitation, she agreed and I inspected the house. It was a very neatly kept house and not the sort of place that one would think a rat would live.

But these things happen to the best of homes. I didn’t find any further evidence of an infestation, but decided to leave a few traps around just in case. The news that it didn’t look like a major infestation was a relief to my client and she thanked me for my “heroic” efforts. I wasn’t really feeling like a hero, but what the heck, I could live with that compliment.

It was time to start wrapping things up and get onto the next job. I gathered all my tools together, did some paperwork and told the lady I would be back in a week to check the house again.

The sun seemed to be moving faster than I was today. I paused for a moment to reflect on my day. There was always a variety in my field of work and that variety consistently challenged me. There are never two situations that are exactly alike. It is always someone new that you are meeting and their problem is unique to them. How fortunate I felt to be living my life doing exactly what I wanted to do. To be taking an age old craft and applying it to the 20th century. I was on top of my world!

It was time to come down out of the clouds and get back on my schedule. I pulled out my planner to see what was next on the agenda. It looks like an appointment with some gophers was going to be next on the list. There were not a lot of gophers in the Denver area. Usually they would be found in sandy soil areas of the surrounding cities. This one happened to be at the Denver/Aurora line. When the area was being formed, sand must have been deposited in this area because there is not a lot of sand to be found in Denver.

As usual, I grabbed my map, took a quick glance and was on my way again. The weather was beautiful and the traffic was light. Within about fifteen minutes, I was pulling in the driveway of a nice two story home with a very well manicured lawn.

I grabbed some business cards and headed to the front door. I rang the bell and waited. And waited. No one answered. I went to the side yard and peered around to the back. There was a man in the backyard watering the lawn. I said “hello” from a distance as I didn’t want to startle him. I walked up and introduced myself and he said, “Man, am I glad to see you!” I looked around at his yard and said, “I bet you are!” His backyard was full of sand mounds and some of his shrubbery was dying.

He told me that the gophers moved in a couple months ago and he had finally had enough of them. I let him know that I would be ridding his property of these current intruders and he could rest assured of that!

I went to the truck and picked out some gopher traps, put them in my bucket along with my shovel, probe and gloves and made my way to the backyard again.

I pulled out the probe and started locating the tunnels in the sandy soil. Thank goodness it was sand as it made it so much easier to work in than clay. I probed around and found 3 really good tunnels. Each tunnel would be set with a trap and the removal process would begin. Trapping gophers is an interesting task. They are not too difficult to trap and are rather neat animals to study. In my line of work, it makes your job so much easier if you know the habits of the animals you are after. I suspect it would be much like a police officer trying to catch a criminal. He would need to know where that criminal usually hung out and at what times of day or night.

The traps were all set. It was time to do a little paperwork with my client and get a move on.

I wonder what is going to be next I thought. The planner revealed another squirrel in an attic call. Well, I have done a hundred of those, so off I went. The address area looked familiar, so I could get by without using the map for this client. I turned the key and started the truck, shifted into gear and rolled the old truck on down the road again.

Traffic was still pretty light and it would be no time till I made it to my client’s house. Another squirrel job. I just hope this one didn’t do any damage in the attic. It always amazed me how the squirrels could chew on live electrical wires in the attic and survive it. Well, I was about to find out soon enough.

I was coming down the street that my client lived on and noticed it was one of those houses with a back alley and a pull in out back. I came down the alley and parked the truck there. Often it was much easier to work on the home from the back yard and eliminate a gate or two in the process. It is not a lot of fun opening gates when you are carrying a ladder!

My client saw me pull up and was waiting for me outside the back door. “Cool”, I said to myself. “This will save me a little time.” She was a middle aged professional looking lady. I said hello and she said “Are you the man who is going to save me from these squirrels?” I said “Yes, maam”. Off we went on a quick tour of the home and she gave me a very thorough idea of what I was up against. I let her know I needed to suit up and get my gear and would be right back.

I started this inspection from the inside out. Sometimes starting there helps in the investigation and leads to more clues. The attic had plenty of clues in it and there was even a squirrel in residence. It ran out as soon as I neared where it was trying to hide in a ball of insulation. Now, I had a respirator on. How can a squirrel live in an attic and not be annoyed by the insulation? I may never know the answer to that.

I bounced down out of the attic and buttoned it up. I made my way downstairs and out the back door. After retrieving the ladder and putting it onto the roof edge, I clambered up it and onto the roof. Since I saw the squirrel exiting, it wasn’t that hard to figure this house out. It had made a small hole on a roofline on the front of the home. The rest of the house looked to be in good shape.

I grabbed some cages, baited them and set them up for the intruding squirrels. Did the usual paperwork with my client and instructed her about the program. She was worried that there might be babies. I asked her if she had heard more than one squirrel in the attic and she thought she did. It would not be uncommon to have more than one. Time would tell.

Speaking of time, I was doing quite well today and I needed to keep moving and the rest of the day would be all downhill from here.
My next stop was one of my fun ones. A raccoon was coming in the pet door and eating the cat’s food. The owner didn’t think it was too funny, but it always was to me. I can just imagine standing there watching this raccoon eating all of your pet’s food. The cat sure wasn’t going to do anything about it! Neither was the owner!

I had about 15 miles to get to this stop in the south metro area. There was a reservoir that I passed along the way and I was wishing I had time to do a little fishing. One benefit of being self employed was being able to take a little time off in the middle of the day…and wet a line every now and then.

But the fishing was going to have to wait today. I headed on down the road and was at the next stop in no time. I rang the bell and waited. In short order the door flung open and a nice older gentleman invited me in. He started right in on his story about how this raccoon was driving him nuts and he told me what I was going to do to solve the problem. I thought to myself, I thought I was the expert here? He asked me to go get my equipment and “we” would get started.

I quickly removed two cages out of the truck and returned. I then asked him, how “we” should set them up. He was more than eager to tell me how to do it. I set them up exactly the way he asked. Right on the nice wood floor in the sun room. So I said to the man “Do you suppose that this raccoon might scratch that nice floor when it gets caught?” “Oh” he says, “I didn’t think about that. Maybe we should put something under it”. I said “Yeah, that might be a good idea”. He went to the garage and retrieved some cardboard and “we” put it under the cages. “We” thought that would do the job. He said he would get in touch with me right away when “we” had caught the raccoon. I said, “No problem”.

I really like working with the older people. They wanted to get right in there with you and help solve the problem. I think it was in their nature and how they were brought up that made them want to help. And the stories they could tell. They were great!

I didn’t have time for stories today and had one last stop to make. This last stop was close to home and that was going to be an easy one. I had to remove a skunk from a window well. I didn’t recognize the street so I pulled out the map and researched it. It was in an old section of the suburbs in a town called Thornton. Thornton was mostly lower middle class residents and was a stones throw from the house.

I made it to the house on time just as the owner was pulling up. Perfect timing I thought! A young lady stepped out of the car and she knew who I was right away. She said, “I have something that I need you to take with you! “I laughed and said, “I bet!” She told me which window well the skunk was in and I was on my way to check it out. I slowly peered over into the well and didn’t see the skunk. Did it get out? Then I saw the sign of digging. It had dug under the well liner and was hiding. Well, this takes all the fun out of it, but it makes it a lot easier. I went back to the truck and baited a cage, carried it to the window well and placed it inside.

I knocked on the door and the young lady came to it. I let her know what the situation was and told her I would be back tomorrow to “collect” the skunk. She wasn’t thrilled that I couldn’t get it today, but I assured her that it would be better to take it away tomorrow than to have it spray in there today. She agreed. The normal paperwork was taken care of and then I was off to the house.

It had been a pretty long day, but it had been a great one too. In this line of business, almost all of our clients are happy to see us. We are eagerly sought out to solve their wildlife problem and give them their home or business back again. If only all careers had people eager to see them. I bet those lined up to meet with the IRS agent are not happy to see them!

It was time to relax, finish some paperwork and wait for another fun day ahead. And to think, I get paid to do this!

Why a Newsletter Will Help Your Home Based Business

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

Web site traffic is a huge concern among home based business owners working online because the competition is stiff and it is a huge effort to get your web site noticed among the thousands of others. However, there are many tricks you can do to differentiate your web site and set it apart from others. One such thing is providing a newsletter to subscribers.

When it comes to newsletters, to begin with you will need to have a reason why people will want to sign up. Most of the time people are not out searching for a bunch of newsletters to subscribe to, but for the right reason they will. For example, if you provide access to a business toolkit, e-book, free gift, or some other equally tempting award, people will sign up
to receive the newsletter. Now, here is the key, once you have people signed up you want them to stay signed up and not only receive the newsletter but also read it.

So, once people begin signing up you will need to make sure the newsletter is professional and provides helpful and relevant information for your particular market. If you are providing this information people will continue reading it and tell their friends about it, if not they will hit the unsubscribe button and you will lose a potential customer. Although setting up a newsletter might sound difficult to you, it really is not and is something you can do in a couple hours every week as long as you have decent writing skills. Make sure you cover hot topics, give advice, and use customer questions about your product, market and the like to make up the newsletter.

If you are confused or not quite sure how to get started, get a newsletter software program that will guide you through the process as well as create a professional looking newsletter. When it comes to material, take a look at some of the most popular newsletters n your field and see what makes them good and what makes the bad. From these, you will be able to take the formats that work and skip the ones that don’t. Because, when it comes down to it, you want your newsletter to become very popular and direct more and more traffic to your site on a daily basis. This is important for your revenues because it has been proven that 70% of sales are made after the third, fourth or fifth contact. If you are providing a good newsletter with plugs for your services and products, you will be sure to see a rise in traffic and purchases.

Also, when it comes to actually distributing the newsletter, you will want to have an automated subscribe and unsubscribe program. This will allow people to sign up or asked to be removed from the newsletter and it will automatically happen. The last thing you want to do is spend your entire day adding and removing email addresses. This is a waste of time that is better used by you focusing on expanding your business.

What’s Your Rationale for Your Internet Home Business?

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

If you are about to launch an internet home business, you
probably don’t need convincing. However, being certain that
you are in business for the right reasons, and that you
aren’t going to meet any unexpected circumstances, is very
important with regard to how you will feel about your
venture and how successful you will be.

Reasons

People’s reasons for having an internet home business, are
as broad as they are long. Perhaps, for instance you’ve
chosen to work from home because it is going to fit into,
and improve, your life. If you decide that you simply want
to work at home, there are many ways that you can accomplish
this without going into business. However, if you really
have the drive and ambition to not only work at home, but
to be able to create a business from zero, then it would be
an excellent selection.

Simply because you have crossed swords with your employer
is not a good reason to launch an internet home business.
However, you may possess new and cutting-edge ideas in your
specialised field od endeavour, and this might be why you
feel the home business option is best. However, if you are
simply doing it so that you can compete with your current
employer, you are going into the business for the wrong
reasons.

You should be opening a home business because you want to
make a difference in the specialised field, and also
because you truly enjoy what you are doing and think that
you are going to be able to do it better from home. These
are all reasons that may persuade you to start a home
business. As an idea, working from home and being your own
boss should simply be something good that goes with the
territory. Keep in mind that, once you start an internet
home business it is going to be in your life, and it is
going to be something that you have to plan for in the
future. This means that starting an internet home business
should never be taken lightly and should be carefully
thought through.

Mining Gold with your Prospects List - Categorize it

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

One of the very first things that most MLM leaders asked their new recruit to do is to produce a prospects list. If you are one of those recruitment enthusiasts without taken into account the long term benefits of your members, then this is a typical method. Successful leaders know the differences between prospects and suspects.

In simple term, with prospect, there is an element of trust that you have built up some where some time before. With suspects, you are just merely guessing and go for a wild shot. You know your prospect and you are sure your prospect knows you. With suspect, you are not quite sure whether she knows you or can remember you. So you can actually predict your chances of success between prospects and suspects. So why waste your precious time on the suspects?

Brainstorming your prospects list not suspects list

Getting your suspects list is easy, you can get it from your alumni list, club and association membership list and even yellow pages if your are daring enough to cold call. While this is a typical approach by most new members, it is un-effective and very discouraging. It does not fit in the glamorous lifestyle that most MLM or Network Marketing portrayed.

Successful leaders know that in order to retain a new member staying power, it is crucial that this new member must be able to successfully recruit a couple of new members in their group in her first few presentations. Thus the prospects list became very important. Instead of just churning out any suspect list, brainstorming your prospects list with questions such as;

Whom shall I invite for my wedding/anniversary/Christmas party?
Who among my friends may in need of extra income?
Who among my friends may find the products or services I provide are benefitial to them?

You do not need to come out with thousands of name, all you need is a list enough for you to recruit the require frontlines; may it be six, twelve or twenty.

Categorize your list for better response

Once you have your prospects list, categorize them. An A list for people who you know and who knows you. The A list prospects are people whom you have constant contact and communicate. You believe that they are more receptive to new opportunity or at least more open to you. Even if they reject your business opportunity, they would recommend some one whom they thought might be interested.

Your B list prospects are people who you do not contact or communicate so frequently but they in your opinion are at least receptive to you and value your friendship by not rejecting you outright without even listen to your presentation.

Your C list prospects are your consumer list who you think are only interested in products or services but not the business opportunity. Many new recruit underestimate the benefits of Consumers list. The consumers not only provide an out front sales profit, they are good sources of word of mouth advertisers when your products are of value and benefits to them.

Duplicating your Prospects list

Using your Hot-Button questionnaires and with the right approach to your A list of prospects, you will soon discover that you don’t even need to present to your B list of prospects. Once the duplicating effect start rolling in your group, you will have a never ending list of prospects from your new members’ members. This is time you identify your leaders in your group to bring your business to the next level.

Work From Home Business: Some Simple Steps To Follow

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Bank like a business; keep your business and personal funds separate by having accounts for each. This will also make it easier to maintain records and save a big headache when filing tax returns. Find out what services your bank provides and do they have anything extra that can help your business run smoother. There is a huge selection of banks and you are not limited to just ones in your own country so make sure you get the best service and fees that you can.

Some banks also offer insurance and one you will need to look at is insurance in particular loss of income protection insurance. Every home business owner should have a policy that ensures financial ability to continue trading and meet expenses and cost of living due to circumstances of personal injury or other things that may prevent you from earning income.

Stay abreast of telecommunication advances as technology is changing rapidly and there may be more services you could utilize in your business, Such as answering services, wireless broadband etc. Install a separate telephone line for your business and make sure you have an answering machine or service. Don’t let people who aren’t involved in your business answer the telephone

Have set working hours and stick to them. Don’t overwork as this can lead to burn out and a loss in productivity more equals less; organize yourself so you can achieve more in less time. A balance of work and play is important otherwise you’ll end up feeling frustrated and more of a slave to your own business than working for another. Remember this philosophy in regards to any employees you have. They have not got the same vested interest in your business as you so its important not to overwork or place unnecessary burdens on them.

Home businesses that interact with more traditional type companies need to keep business hours otherwise you may not be taken seriously and you business considered as more of a hobby than a serious entrepreneur.

Always conduct yourself honestly, build a reputation of conducting your business affairs with integrity, you’ll build long lasting relationships if people know you are your word and endeavor to provide what you say you will. If something up expected comes up get in contact with your clients immediately tell them honestly what difficulties have arisen and any changes you need to make as a result. Don’t put this off it gets harder to fix problems the longer you leave them.

Lastly no man is an island and you shouldn’t conduct your business like one. Network with other business owners. Join related groups or society’s and know what local government departments are there that can assist you in your business.

Work From Home Opportunities For Data Entry - The Numbers Are Staggering

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Odds are, nearly everyone out there knows someone who is jumping on the “Work at home revolution” bandwagon. It is a convenient alternative to the trade your time for money experience many of us grew up with in the traditional field of employment. This new opportunity now comes in many venues. Everything from MLMs to Network Marketing companies, from Paid Surveys to the surging number of Data Entry workers who are utilizing the Internet and computers to not only master their craft - but to make a comfortable living for themselves as well.

The varying opportunities relating to Data Entry workers are literally unlimited. A trained Medical Transcriptionist can command a great salary for his or her assistance to the doctors who obtain their services. Many banking institutions use these individuals to enter information on new accounts as well as updating or deleting existing information for their seasoned customers. Accountants, Brokers, Law Firms, the list goes on and on. Small businesses as well as large corporations employ people who are willing to put in the time to enter information as it applies in its relevance to the services these industries are seeking. The compensation for these specialists varies from an hourly rate to a per-service contracting fee.

Searching the Internet can prove to be a worth while venture as it can produce a vast number of links and organizations searching out interested parties in this fast growing field. For anyone out there with a few extra hours to spare who wants to get on board this type of opportunity, it is a great way to make some extra quick cash. For full time employment seekers, it is a way for single parents or double income households to leverage this income -generating strategy to stay on track with current monthly obligations. Meanwhile, taking out the mounting expenses of Day Care, gas and Car Maintenance can add to the all around savings working from home has to offer. This type of employment can also work around ones own personal schedule, making time to fit in other responsibilities -like taking children to and from school. Can your current 9 to 5 offer you that?

If you have access to a computer, basic software, the Internet and you are willing to dedicate the time it takes to make these tools work to your advantage, you just might find the financial freedom you’re currently seeking. It may be well worth your time to look a little deeper into this career opportunity. What have you got to lose? More importantly…what might you have to gain? Don’t you owe it to yourself and your family to find out?

Please also keep in mind the importance of researching the companies you may become interested in working with. Ask questions about the hours they want you to put in and if those hours work for you. Are they flexible? Do they provide any benefits, and if so what are they? Do they offer Insurance for full time workers? The more you know about the details of your requirements and responsibilities is also a plus. Know what you are getting into and with whom before making any type of commitment.

Internet and Network Marketing Works

Wednesday, November 29th, 2006

Internet and network marketing are inseparably related today. The phenomenal growth of the Internet has been a great boost for those trying to establish a network marketing business of their own. Whether part time or full time, you can combine the worldwide exposure and instant response so typical of the Internet to build your business from your home or office computer, or for that matter, anywhere in the world. You are always connected.

Many people have made fortunes on the Internet and network marketing has been easy for them for so many reasons. But the one common thing among them is that they have all worked really hard at it. This is no ‘get-rich-quick’ scheme on the Internet and network marketing is just like any other business. You succeed if you persevere.

If you are conversant with the ways of the Internet and network marketing looks like the right thing for you, then start building your business today! Network marketing is a worldwide mega trend today, with about 30,000 people joining network marketing companies per week. And why do you think that is? Because network marketing is a way for an average individual, without any prior business experience and technical training, to establish a worldwide, highly profitable marketing organization, and to run it out of his or her own home.

Network marketing is nothing but a highly efficient way of getting a product from a manufacturer directly into the hands of the customer, without all the middlemen who only serve to increase the cost of the product, and without the traditionally huge advertising expenses incurred by most companies.

The Internet has had great effect on the network marketing industry. Some companies have been very successful in using the Internet and network marketing has been booming. There are several companies with sales in the hundreds of millions dollars annually, who enter between seventy and ninety percent of their orders via the Internet or automatic touchtone ordering. The distributors use this system because they choose to. Those who feel the least bit uncomfortable with technology are free to call an 800 number to place orders with live operators. Most, however, recognize and take advantage of the benefits of the newer technologies.

So don’t have second thoughts about whether or not to make use of the Internet, and network marketing may be just the thing for you. Work at your own time and pace, and slowly but surely build up a residual income. Fulfill your dream of being able to afford the luxuries of life. Enjoy life king-size!

Are These Self-Limiting Beliefs Preventing You From Starting A Small Business?

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

Here are three common disabling beliefs which prevent people from starting small businesses because of the fear of failure.

Many think they are not well enough educated, come from a poor background which holds them back, or think they need loads of money to get started in a new small business venture.

Let me show you why I think these are not true.

Lack Of Education

Many believe you need a good education to make a lot of money or to start up successful small businesses.

Far from being held back by poor education, it may actually be an advantage. Just as blind people often have much better hearing, people who have less education often compensate in other ways.

They may communicate more effectively to a wider population, they often exhibit greater dexterity and ability working with a wide range of materials and have great ability to judge risk and reward.

A good education can even be shown to be a disadvantage to entrepreneurship.

It is normal for well-educated people to find it easy to get a job. This means they are making money for someone else, in exchange for a smaller proportion of money back. (If employers didn′t make more money from their workers than they paid them, then they couldn′t continue to employ them.)

Having had a good job for a while, to give it up on a small business enterprise usually means risking losing that job, and the money that comes in with it, which may be needed to start the new venture. This brings us to another myth-

Lack Of Capital

Many believe you can′t start a new moneymaking venture without a lot of money to get started. I don′t believe this!

The old saying “If you ain′t got nothing you ain′t got nothing to lose″ really is true.

If you have a lot to lose by risking a new small business venture, you may be so cautious of failure that you fail to succeed.

So many seriously rich people started from flat broke or in many cases from serious debt, you have to conclude that a lot of capital is not necessary.

J. K Rowling is one of the richest individuals in the UK. While she was writing her first novel she had barely the price of a good meal to sustain her. She even had to type the book out twice (with a second hand typewriter!) to send a copy to the publishers because she couldn’t afford to have a photocopy done.

Living In A Poor Environment

Many believe you need to come from a rich background to become rich. Baloney!

People have worked their way up from living in tin shacks to owning hotel chains. It is just as easy to sell goods to people in the ghetto as it is in the richest street in town.

Indeed it is often much more profitable to sell cheaper goods than more expensive goods.

Here’s a few examples-

· Burger vans have far higher profit margins than many top restaurants.

· Skateboards often have far higher profit margins than cars.

· A bicycle sales and repair shop would find far more customers in a poor environment than in a rich one.

· Trades and services (plumbers, electricians, decorators) will be more likely to succeed with the low costs of the poor environment and traveling to a better environment to provide those services.

Poor Education, No Capitol AND a Poor Environment!

A few examples of people who succeeded with their small businesses may help to prove my point.

With all three - poor education, no capitol and a poor environment, one guy in Africa has found great success. He lived on what most people reading this would consider to be a rubbish tip, but with very little education and no capitol at all, makes a great living for himself. With no more than a stout pair of ordinary scissors, he turns discarded empty drink cans into really stylish flowers. Selling them to locals and tourists, he makes a fine living.

Now I am not suggesting for a moment that this is a workable small business idea for you, but it does prove my point. If he can be so successful, by his terms, in Africa, then really it can’t be so hard for you can it?

Another example, which you are equally unlikely to repeat, is that of many ‘pop stars’. I won’t go into detail here because I prefer not to get sued, but if you look carefully at the early lives of, for example, Madonna, Eminem, Bob Dylan etc. you would find they have bettered themselves considerably with very few external resources.

Lastly, how about Nancy Engel. Starting from flat broke with very little education, she bought $30 worth of assorted spices. Mixing them together, she labeled them Italian Spice Mix and took them to a local flea market the next day. By the end of the day, she′d sold all her stock and pocketed $200. By repeating this simple formula, her small business is a great success.

What if you are fortunate enough to live in an outstanding environment, have received an excellent education and have access to seemingly limitless funds – would that ensure success? History is littered with examples of people in just this situation, who started business ventures which failed completely leaving them financially broke.

I believe you are just as likely to succeed, or fail, regardless of your environment, education or funds.

Small Businesses Idea, Plus Action

So enough of what you don’t need to succeed - what about what you do need? Almost every example shows that after an idea which the entrepreneur considered worth pursuing, action is required. It sounds obvious, but without action, all you have is an idea, and by themselves, ideas rarely make you successful!

By action I don’t mean simply telling everyone you know about your idea, I mean actually doing something to make your idea happen.

So now you see why I believe that it is quite normal for people to succeed without access to good education, good environment or good funding.

I believe you can change your life massively with no more than a few good small business ideas and a little action.

Tom Kulzer Says No To Mike Filsaime’s Viral Friend Generator

Tuesday, November 28th, 2006

In case you haven’t heard, AWeber has banned the usage of Viral Friend Generator and any other Tell-A-Friend (commonly referred to as TAF) scripts. So what does this mean to us as affiliate marketers? It means that anyone who bought Viral Friend Generator since its new launch risks having their AWeber account pulled for violating their anti-spam policies.

Tom Kulzer, CEO of AWeber.com has this to say on the matter:

“TAF forms in nearly all instances work the same way. A website visitor sees your TAF form and types in 1-3 different “friend’s” email addresses. The website itself uses a script or some other backend program to physically send those emails on the visitors behalf to the “friends” that have been entered. Those emails are physically sent from the website owners machine and not the friend themselves.”

Basically AWeber’s stance on the idea of TAF scripts is that they are spam. Their reasoning behind it is that because the email is originating from the offending website’s server and not from the actual person’s email servers, it is unsolicited. And as you well know, sending unsolicited email is a dangerous business and could even be against the law.

Tom went on further to say that because there is no way of authenticating whether or not the person filling out the TAF form is an actual friend of the recipient, it is too easy to exploit a TAF form for email spamming purposes. Because of this, AWeber will not allow anyone who utilizes their services to use TAF scripts on their website. Instead, he suggests using alternative means such as including something in your newsletters encouraging current subscribers of your mailing list to pass your newsletters on to their friends and to also include instructions on how non-members can sign up. In fact he even gives a small snippet as an example of what to add to your mailings:

“Thanks for reading! If you know someone who could benefit from this, feel free to forward it to them!

Until next time!”

The concept of whether or not TAF scripts are spam is still up for debate, but AWeber’s stance is very clear – if you use their services, you cannot use TAF scripts at all. They are standing strong on this one and even go so far as to say to their customers:

“You don’t have to agree with our position on TAF. But we do expect you to respect it, as we respect your opinion. If you feel that TAF is a necessary element to your marketing, that’s fine, and your decision to make. Just understand that it’s not at all something that can be done with AWeber, so you need to seek out another email solution if you’re going to use TAF.”

All is not lost, however, as AWeber is not the only autoresponder company in town. As a matter of fact, the very creator of Viral Friend Generator, Mike Filsaime, has his own autoresponder service called ProSender. And I’m sure he’s not going to ban you from using his own product.
