Gift Baskets- Ten Simple Steps to Financial Freedom

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

Gift baskets are an excellent alternative to the typical “run of the mill” gifts that most people send and are a wonderful idea for any occasion.

The one thing that amazed me were all the different themes. I found gift baskets for vacations, scuba diving, coffee enthusiast, poker and even bar-b-que grilling. There are so many themes, gift baskets seem to be an ideal choice just about any occasion. The traditional holiday and birthday baskets have a lot of competition these days.

The reasons for giving gift baskets are many, but there’s one common thread; both the giver and recipient enjoy a common feeling of really caring. Giving a gift certificate just isn’t the same as giving a gift basket.

Let me let you in on something. I’ve done a little research into gift baskets and I’ve come up with a step-by-step guide that will turn you into a gift basket crafter extraordinaire, even if you don’t have a creative gene in your body.

I want to share a few things with you.

Whether you are designing your own gift basket or creating a list with pre-made gift baskets in mind, the ideas for gift baskets are never ending. Gift baskets are suitable for any affair, make a wonderful gift and theme gift baskets are an easy alternative to the traditional holiday present.

Designing and crafting gift baskets are FUN and can be a great way to earn a great part-time or full time income. Here are a few tips to get you thinking…

Gift Basket Creation Is EASY! Yes. It truly is. If you can find a container (not always a basket), stuff to put inside of it, a few ribbons or extra accessories… BAM, you’ve got yourself a gift basket. Traditionally of course, gift baskets came in what else, baskets? But, as time and traditions have changed, so have the basket formats. And that helps out tremendously in the imagination arena. Traditional gift baskets can be boring. . .

Selecting A “Theme” For Your Basket… If you can think it up, you can turn it into a gift basket. Gift basket creation is all about creativity and imagination. How far can yours stretch to come up with fresh, inventive ideas? Think about this… the more creative you get, the better chances you will create a gift so unique it wouldn’t be found anywhere else in the world. In fact, you could give 10 people the exact same supplies and ask them to come up with their own gift basket and end up with 10 different variations on the exact same theme.

Themes you can try…Gardening & Outdoor Activities, Butterfly Gardening, Water Gardening, “Backyard” Farming, Winter Sports, Golf and even Weight Training.

Now, on to the basic supplies you’re going to need to create your new gift basket. . A Container, Packing Extras & Accents and Basket Goodies. That’s All? Yep, that’s it.

Putting It All Together… Presentation is quite important when it comes to making your gift basket. You can′t simply throw everything in a bucket, slap a bow on it and say “Here Ya Go!” It takes a little more thought than that. Take into consideration the size of your container. Is it small, medium, or larger in size? How much can you fit within it before it begins to look “over stuffed”? While we want our gift baskets to look “full”, we don′t want them to be messy with too many things shoved in to every available space!

Sorry folks…I’m stopping here and saving the rest for later. But, there is one important thing that I want to point out. Learning to craft gift baskets is both fun and profitable!

If you are a work at home mom (or Dad,) student, retired grand parent, or disabled… learning how to sell and craft gift baskets is a great way to earn really good money… and it’s a feel good business as well. This is one home based business you should really consider. The market is open to anyone who has just a little spare time.

Home Business Start Up: Grocery Shopping Home Business

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

Vital Information:

Start-up Investment:

Low - $2000 (advertising costs)

High - $20,000 (includes a van)

Break-even time Two weeks to one year

Estimate of Annual Revenue and Profit: Revenue $15,000 - $1 million (solo at low end, with employees at high end)

Profit (Pre-tax ) $12,000 - $500,000

Food for Thought (and Profit)

In this age of two-income families, it is a rarity to find a woman who has time to manage both her career and her home with the finesse that she would like.

As the number of frozen meals and fast food restaurants multiply, families are becoming increasingly dependent on them.

Consequently, people are consuming substantial amounts of “empty calories”. The result? … obesity. Another? Children with behavioral problems.

On the flip side, people are becoming more aware of the value of “whole foods” as opposed to prepackaged.

Not only families with busy parents use “Personal Grocery Shoppers, but executives use them also.

With technology advancing as rapidly as it is… executives are increasingly required to produce more projects given the same amount of time. They simply don’t have the time to go to the grocery store and carefully choose healthy foods.

Don’t forget about the elderly and those with physical challenges. Many Senior’s as well as others who are physically challenged require “Grocery Shopping” services.

Also, consider Adult Family Homes and Foster Homes. Often, it is difficult for care providers to schedule in time to grocery shop.

I’ve learned that with both Adult Family Homes as well as with Foster Homes, that the care provider’s are required to have a liscenced person remain with clients in the event that the care provider needs to leave the home…Obviously, a hidden cost.

Keep in mind that there are NUMEROUS Adult Family Homes and Foster Homes that are run by couples as well as singles. Contrary to popular thought, most of these homes are small operations.

You can contract with Foster Homes and Adult Family Homes and do the shopping for them.

How can you Cash in on the Grocery Shopping Business?

Grocery shopping is one of the newest and potentially lucrative services now being offered to the American consumer. Why not capitalize on this ever increasing industry?

Who, What, Where…

There are many different types of grocery-shopping services popping up all over the country. Some are attached to large supermarket chains; a division of the parent company or someone leasing space as a concession.

At the other end of the spectrum are homemakers, singles, and college students who Earn a living by doing the grocery shopping for others.

Benefits To Owning A Home Based Grocery Business

· A Home Based Grocery Business allows for a flexable work schedule. · Can be performed…even if you have young children.

· Opportunity to meet people

· Low start up

· Low overhead

· Simple

· Lucrative

No matter what form the service takes, the opportunities can be mind-boggling. Even the single enterprising shopper can make a good living for the next dozen years or so… until supermarket chains catch on…

Once more supermarkets catch on, it may be possible to present your existing service to the supermarket chain as an established service.

By contracting your services with a grocery store chain, you can cash in. Of course, at that point, it’s likely that you will have employees doing the shopping for you.

Since there are so few grocery shopping companies around, you will have to decide for yourself what the market will be when setting your prices.

You will probably want to break down your prices to reflect the dollar amount of the order, the distance for delivery and whether you can handle several orders at the same time. (For example: $10 for a $50 order within a 5 mile radius).

Keep in mind, the bottom line in this business is volume. The more orders you can fill at one time and the fewer miles you have to travel, the more lucrative your business will be.

Start-Up Costs For your Grocery Shopping Business

All you really need to start a shopping service is customers. You can use word of mouth advertising to start, if money is seriously tight.

Investing in flyers and peppering the neighborhoods you choose may be the place to start.

Note: Use card sized flyers for low cost advertising. Pay kids to deliver them.

Choosing Customers for your Grocery Shopping Business

You will want to target your potential area carefully. Look for affluent neighborhoods where both spouses are working, neighborhoods populated by executives, Computer programmers….Foster/Adult care Homes.

Note: Get your hands on a Cole’s Directory. Often, you’ll find them in your local Library. You can also lease them directly from Cole’s. Anyhow, within the Cole’s Directory, you can look up addresses within it. The Beauty is that Cole’s lists the average income for the particular neighborhood. Advertising your Home Based Grocery Business

You can either hire kids to hand deliver the flyers in the specified neighborhoods or utilize bulk mail to send your flyers to a particular zip code.

I’ve paid kids .05 cents per door. Neighborhood newspapers and pennysavers are often an economical place to advertise.

You might want to speak with the management at the supermarket you plan to utilize to see if you can post a notice in the store on the bulletin board or pass out brochures or flyers in the parking lot or at the door of the sore.

Continue to be warm and friendly but don’t confuse this with friendship development. In other words, don’t make it a habit to hang around too long after your job is done. Keep it light, warm and professional. Don’t become their psychologist.

Once you′ve developed trust, ask for referrals. You can design a referral program too.

Other than advertising costs, the only start-up cost you will really need is a vehicle (a roomy station wagon or van) that can accommodate your orders.

Other Business Considerations

If you don’t have such a vehicle and money is tight, you can explore the possibility of leasing one. If you lease an automobile under your business name, you can write the monthly payments off. Of course you don’t have to concern yourself with auto repair hassles…by leasing.

As business picks up, consider adding coolers to keep perishables on ice so that you can lengthen your delivery route.

Another thought… turn your baseme or extra bedroom into warehouse so you can stock high profit bulky items like sodas or disposable diapers.

This way you can purchase in quantity from a wholesaler or food warehouse, increasing your profits.

Designing your Grocery Shopping Business

Some shopping services ask their customers to place orders on a regimented schedule; one each week or every ten days.

It’s also common that customers are requested to check off their items on a pre-printed shopping list. You can design the list so that “Produce” is in one section, “Meats” in another, and so on.

This method guarantees a minimum number of orders per week and allows for long range scheduling.

Other services are more flexible by allowing customers to “call in” to order on as-needed basis. This method maybe harder to schedule but could pull in more business because of increased frequency or impulse buying.

Because it is not a very good idea to carry a lot of cash around with you, it may be a good idea for your company to pay for the order as you purchase them and then collect a check from your customers upon delivery.

You will probably want to choose one particular supermarket in which to do all your shopping. Not only do you become familiar with the location of all the items you need, but you can become familiar with the store’s personnel. A friendly “hello″ how are you”, may be the little boost you need to be able to get the best cuts of beef from the butcher or the best produce from the produce manager.

Time Is Money

If you are only shopping for prepackaged food, you can really move through the supermarket, but if you have to inspect produce, meats, or fish, the time you spend is going to be greatly increased. So, charge accordingly.

You may also want to consider shopping in stores other than supermarkets. Customers may want you to stop by the liquor store, deli or carry-out.

You may wish to increase your fees for this additional service or charge the same as you do for groceries. It’s up to you.

Note: if you base your pricing on the dollar volume for the delivery, the more expensive price tags at those specialty stores will make it worthwhile to make the extra stops.

Organizational ability is the key to a successful grocery shopping service. It is a challenge to keep orders straight since you will probably be shopping for several accounts at once.

Leverage Your Time for Home Business Success Story -The Master of Time (Featuring Percy the Toad)

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

“Ringgg, thud, ringgg, thud” Percy’s alarm would go off and he would just as quickly hit the snooze button. This happen several times before he relented and let his little toad feet feel the cold realm of the bedroom floor. He wanted to keep on dreaming but his pressing work load wouldn’t allow it. “If only I had more time each day to do everything. It seems like my allotted time each day is shrinking faster than a cheap suit in a rainstorm. And Percy should know as his coworkers were always asking him about his latest wardrobe classic as they tried to hold back the dam of chuckles. Most mornings the dam broke.

Percy didn’t enjoy their remarks, but he couldn’t help the fact that he was always short on money for nicer toad clothes. Percy’s mind often drifted like a boat on the Y-cant-i Ocean. Why can’t I have nicer clothes and things like other’s around me? And why can’t I be wealthy like those people in those expensive toadstool homes I drive by on the way to work?

Are they smarter then me? I don’t think so, after all I remember as a young toad winning the annual school detective contest for solving the “Mystery of the Missing Toadstools”. Sure I didn’t always excel in school, but most of the time the classes were boring. When I found something interesting and applied my little toad brain there wasn’t a toad in the school any better.

“Hum-pph” Percy instantly had an idea. “Interesting that was certainly a clue. When I find something interesting I tend to do much better, even excel in that area.” “But how does this relate to those other toads living in those expensive toadstools?” Could interesting be part of the solution? Percy thought. But he would have to dig deeper. Percy remembered winning the big school detective contest years earlier and how good he felt. He always enjoyed solving riddles and puzzles.

This was going to be good, this would be like a great toad puzzle designed by one of the great toad puzzle masters of old.

He would start to solve this puzzle by searching for other clues.

He thought, “Perhaps being successful and living in a nice toadstool home was due to superior education?” But Percy quickly dismissed this because, he remembered one of the richest toads he knew never went to college. So formal education certainly wasn’t the key.

Next he thought, “Perhaps being successful and living in a nice toadstool home was due to superior IQ and brains?” But Percy quickly dismissed this because, he remembered one of the smartest toads he knew from school was almost in the same boat as himself. So IQ and brains certainly wasn′t the key.

Next he thought, “Perhaps being successful and living in a nice toadstool home was due to sheer hard work?” But Percy quickly dismissed this because, he remembered some of the hardest working toads he knew were constructions workers and they worked long hard hours and they certainly weren’t rich. So just working hard certainly wasn’t the key he was looking for.

And yet he had always heard, “To be successful in life get a good education, be smart and work hard.” Now Percy certainly didn’t discount these as not being important. After all he didn’t know any illiterate people who were lazy and dumb who were successful. It would seem the experts were only half right, these things were only part of the answer, some important ingredient was missing. Perhaps the experts didn’t know everything.

What was the one thing that was standard in everyone’s life. He remembered a sentence from a famous Historical document. “All men are created equal!”

Percy thought about this, “Sure some people may be born into a better existence, but beyond that everyone is born with the same life in the same way”. Whoa this was key. What an incredible idea he thought.

Percy had heard this expression before but up until now he never grasped what it really meant. Now he truly was able to wrap his brain around this incredible concept. All men truly are created equal by their creator with the same amount of time in a day. No one gets more no one gets less. What each man does with his allotted time each day basically determines the legacy he will leave.

The men who leave the greatest legacies are the true “Masters of Time”.

With this in mind Percy went into this den of deep thought and meditation for days. When he finally emerged from beneath his toad stool he was as giggly as a 12 year old school girl at a birthday party.

Men had for years envisioned creating time machines, which would allow them to learn the future and thus give them a present day advantage.

But Percy realized that time travel was essentially impossible at least in his lifetime. So Percy went back into his little workshop underneath his toadstool to invent his “Master of Time” machine.

And that was the last we heard of Percy, or was it?

The birds were chirping - It was a beautiful spring morning and little Priscilla has just awoken to their beautiful song. Priscilla was eager to start her day- it was such a joy getting up since she had purchased the “Master of Time” video game down at the mall. Today was going to be exciting she thought.

For years many experts had written books and taught courses on how to manage your time down to even the minutest detail. The problem was that information if applied could only help that person manage their time better. These courses never helped the person be a “master of time″, a big difference.

The “Master of Time” game had been invented years earlier, but had never caught on until it was made into a video game. Actually what made this game unique was it was more than a game. People used it to manage their lives and prosperity.

Now it seemed the whole world was playing this game, and oh the new things it was producing. Back in the early 21st Century it only seemed like there were a lot of new technical inventions, but comparing that to today was like comparing Medieval Times to the 21st Century.

The way the game worked was quite unique, along with its ingenious concept. The concept was to master your time and thus required that in each activity during the day you decided to engage in that you would have to come up with a way that activity would help you master time. And if you couldn′t come up with something you would scratch the activity. For example writing a book would allow you to earn money from the sales of the book long after you had finished writing it.

The main concept of the game was through your activities create products or concepts that could be used to produce the creator money beyond the time taken to create it. Of course the video game version was immensely popular as it would allow the person to simulate the results of their invention or concept so they could see a variety of end results and thus refine their product.

Oh and what ever happened to Percy the Toad - - come on, we’ll drive by the 400,000 Square Foot museum shaped like a giant toadstool and dedicated to all the great inventions brought about by Percy’s great concept and game. Won’t you come with us and take a tour?

Why should an MLM Company provide its Distributors with a Recruiting & Management System?

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

Company Growth Rate = Distributors Success
Although the statement above is obvious, far too many MLM companies fail to understand and implement, that in an ever changing environment and saturated market, they have to take a more active role in their distributors’ success.

So let us analyze “mathematically” what is distributor’s success:

Distributors’ Success Analysis
For the sake of this discussion, let us introduce the following three equations

Equation 1: Distributor’s Success = Company’s check
Equation 2. Company’s check = Sales
Equation 3. Sales = Organization size

Distributor’s Success = Company’s check
While success as an employee is sometimes subject to interpretation, status, wages, point of view or attitude, there is no doubt that for an MLM distributor, the size of the check received from the company is the ultimate yardstick of success.

Company’s check = Products’ Sales
At the end of the chain there are customers who buy the company’s products. The company’s turnover is the sum of all these sales. A percentage of this turnover is used to pay the company’s sales force – the distributors. This system of remuneration is the company’s “Compensation Plan”.

Products’ Sales = Organization size
Distributor’s commission is derived from the overall sales of their organization according to the specific compensation plan. On average, the company’s turnover divided by the total number of distributors in the company represents the average sales per distributor.
Hence, the number of distributors in ones organization determines – on average – the company’s check size, or:

Distributor’s Success = Organization size

The New Distributor: Situation Analysis
Beginners have a lot on their plate. To become successful, they have to master all aspects of their new work: Company, products, sales, systems, etc. To boost their confidence in their new line of work, they need an early success.
To start growing their organization, they need the tools and framework to enable this early success.
Since most distributors lack this much required framework, it does not come as a surprise that currently 80% - 90% of them dropout in the 1st year.

Organization Manager: Situation Analysis
Once a distributor has added a few new down-lines, he becomes an organization manager. Since dropout percentage is high, organization managers are in constant pursuit to recruit new distributors on one hand, while maintaining and supporting their existing organization.

The need to control their administration and sales time-share, becomes a major issue.

Growing an Organization: Facts
Let us deal with the harsh facts which, governs the building process of an MLM organization:
Fact #1: 2% – 3% of people exposed to the business opportunity become prospects. This figure relates to the best recruiting Websites where figures can be measured. The figures are much lower when using other advertising channels such as newspapers, stickers, flyers etc.
Fact #2: 1% - 2% of prospects become distributors. This is an average figure and depends on many factors. Some of them are personal factors, where others relate to the lead’s quality and source.

The bottom line is simple: A distributor has to expose his business opportunity to some 1000 to 1500 people to recruit ONE (1) down-line.

Conclusion: Recruiting is a numbers game!

Winning the Numbers Game!
To win the numbers game two components – exposure and conversion rate - has to be increased!

Exposure: There are many channels of exposure to the business opportunity: business cards, flyers, publicity buttons, stickers, Newspapers, Internet ads, recruiting Website - to name some. However, before practicing a specific method, the following important questions have to be asked:

1. What is the cost effectiveness of this method? How much time and money I need to invest to get 1 lead (prospect)?

2. What is the quantity of prospects I can achieve using this method? How many prospects I expect to add to the pipeline in a month? Is there a limit to the number of prospects I can find this way?

3. What is the prospects’ quality this method produces? High quality leads are informed prospects. These people have already received information about the business opportunity before you even talk to them.

A good personal and professional recruiting Website can:
Beat the 2% - 3% ratio of surfers to prospects
Provide high quality leads
Becomes a source for the cheapest possible leads
Provide a fresh and unlimited source for leads

Having a recruiting website is a must! However, since no one can expect that a recruiting Website will provide all the leads required from day one, a mix of advertising channels should be considered.

Conversion rate: Converting leads to active distributors – for some extent – is personal. Some people are more gifted than others and enjoy a higher than average conversion rate. However when the human factor is isolated, the common denominator remains “technical”: How well and professionally these precious leads have been handled.

As time goes by, and the list of prospects lengthens, even the most talented sales person will find it difficult to handle it without an effective management system.

USA MLM Market
Here is a snapshot of the USA market:

2000 Companies
$28 Billion annual turnover
13 million distributors

Being one of the most competitive and saturated markets worldwide, MLM companies need to make sure that their distributors are well equipped when they approach potential customers and prospects.

Traditional Support to Distributors
Usually, MLM companies provide some support to their distributors. This support can be divided into tangible and Non-tangible support:

Tangible
Training
Marketing material (brochures, product information, surveys, articles….)
Incentives

Non-tangible
Communication between its distributors
Information (down-line performance, own production, commission, Flow of business etc.,)
Organization culture, sense of belonging

The above support, as much as required, is only part of what a distributor needs to succeed in today’s competitive market.

The solution
We now go back to the beginning of this article: Company Growth Rate = Distributors’ Success. When a company decides to play a more active role in its distributors’ success, it can now add to its support mix, a recruiting and management system. This system will provide:

A framework for new distributors
A possibility to manage organization
Competitiveness in a saturated market
Save time and money resources to its distributors
Lower the dropout percentage

The Company’s Benefits
When company uses its buying power to implement such a solution it can achieve the following benefits:

Saves time: Comprehensive professional solution is available now
Tailors the solution to its needs
Increases growth rate and distributors loyalty.
Increases bottom line at no cost.

Summary
Let us summarize the arguments in this article in a few short sentences:

1. The company success is derived from its distributors success
2. Distributors success is directly related to the size of their organization
3. New distributors need a framework that will enable them to achieve early success. This will reduce the current high dropout percentage
4. Organization managers need a system to support their organization and as a mean to lower the dropout of new recruits.
5. Building an organization is a numbers game. To recruit 1 distributors 1000 people has to be exposed to the business opportunity
6. Winning the numbers game, can be achieved by increasing both exposure and conversion rate.
7. The market is highly saturated and competitive, and the traditional support provided by MLM companies is not enough.
8. Companies should use their buying power to provide their distributor with current technology of recruiting and management system to accelerate growth and benefit from distributors loyalty.

Choosing A Home Based Business

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

If you are one of those who are in a quandary about which home based business to choose, take heart, here is some sound advice. First consider that you need to:

(1) protect yourself from unwanted intrusions
(2) be able to look without committing, and
(3) not have a ton of follow-up communications swamping your e-mail inbox. Get a free e-mail account (like Hotmail or Yahoo) to use while you’re “just looking.” Once you decide on a business you can give it your primary e-mail address.

1) The first item is a personal one. Do you have an interest in the product(s) being offered? For instance, if you are into health foods, vitamins and minerals, you would probably not be interested in the Chocolate Bar of the Month business. Instead you would want to look for a vitamin and mineral company.

2) Next consider the cost of getting into the business. A home-based business usually has a start-up cost ranging from free to $1,000 or more. Look at your finances and choose wisely.

3) Think about the on-going costs. Many companies require you to purchase a certain amount of product each month to remain qualified for getting paid. Some require you to increase your purchases as you advance through the ranks.

4) Consider the cost of your Web page or pages. Some companies charge you for them on a monthly basis. Others don’t charge anything. Be sure you can afford this cost before joining.

5) Know the requirements needed to begin receiving pay. Many companies require recruiting additional partners before qualifying for pay. So consider this carefully, especially if the cost of getting in is a little high. Will others you enlist be able to afford the start-up or ongoing costs?

6) Does the product lend itself to repeat sales? Is the average person likely to use this product? How much convincing will you have to do in order to get others to buy it from you?

7) Does the company offer training and materials for free or do they charge for them? This all factors into the cost of doing business and must be considered.

8) Will you have a mentor? A mentor will shorten your learning curve tremendously. Is his or her information, such as e-mail address or phone number, readily available to you?

9) Is the parent company at least five years old? This one is a little tricky. Some companies may have launched a new division, but the parent company is an established and trusted firm. This one issue has a plus on both sides of this coin. The plus for an older company is that they are established. The plus for a newly formed company, or division within an older company, is that the market may be wide open and thus the opportunity is excellent.

10) Is the company being hyped as being in pre-launch? If so, look it over carefully. Sometimes this is a ploy to draw in people to get a few quick bucks and then the company “runs for the hills.” Other times it is a legitimate opportunity. Just be wary. Be sure the product is valid and one you think will be around a while.

11) Does the company say you have to sign up by a certain date or you will be passed up by others joining below you? This is a ploy to play on your fears, and it usually works. Don’t allow yourself to be pressured into joining anything you haven’t thoroughly checked out and want to commit to for the long haul. Don’t ever be pressured by any kind of a deadline.

12) If you can speak with a live person, do so. Don’t be afraid to ask the tough questions. But be prepared to be pressured to join and get started right away. You will have to resist this if you are not entirely convinced yet that this is the company for you.

13) If you look at a company’s pay plan and can’t understand it, maybe it isn’t for you. Most reputable companies today will have a video on the Web site you can check out. These may run anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes long. What is important is that you be able to understand the concept behind the company and know what the pay plan entails. Always remember to look for the “hoops” you will have to jump through to get paid.

This is not an all inclusive list, but it will give you an excellent start in comparing one home based-business to another. You will more than likely come up with points of your own to consider. Don’t be afraid to include them in your own personal checklist. After all, you are the one committing time, effort and possibly money. Remember, they have to satisfy you. If they don’t, keep on looking until you find the one that is right for you.

Assessing the Personality Profile of Your Home Business Prospects

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

Did you know there are distinct personality profiles that people have? This, of course, also includes the prospects for your network marketing home-based business.

The fact is, as you continue to build your business, it will be critical to understand the different personalities your prospects have. Understanding their profiles can not only have a huge positive impact on your business, but also your life.

Now, on to the four basic personality profiles.

Yellow-The Nurturers

Making up 35% of the population, yellows are involved in occupations such as nursing, teaching, social work, etc. When they give, they give with their whole heart. Usually, they don’t have much time for themselves because they are so busy giving to others. Yellows have built very large organizations in network marketing when they have the confidence and belief in themselves that they can!

Working with Yellows

An important thing to remember is that yellows hate being sold to. They can’t stand pushy, aggressive salespeople! When you are talking with a yellow, become a nurturer like they are. Slow down and don’t be overexcited. If yellows see a lot of hype, they think they are receiving a sales pitch. Whatever you do, don’t tell a yellow about earning thousands of dollars a month because this will turn them off.

Instead, just spend time visiting with them. Don’t worry about presenting the business. Instead, talk about their families, their kids, and vacations. Yellows will let you know when they are ready to talk shop!

Blues-The Fun Loving

There is only one name for a blue: fun! They like fun and loads of it. Blues make up 15% of the population. They are highly creative people, and usually are involved in a sales business of some kind. They also have a tendency to jump from program to program.

When presenting your business to a blue, they usually can grasp the overall picture very quickly and don’t need tons of details.

Working with Blues

When working with a blue, be excited! Talk about all the fun stuff: sailing, scuba diving, bungee jumping, skydiving, etc. You get the picture.

Blues don’t mind talking about their family, vacations, and the like. They just love talking about the fun more. So rev up the fun thermometer when talking with a blue prospect for your network marketing home business!

Greens-The Analyzers

Greens are analyzers and make up 35% of the population. They are the types of folks that let business opportunities worth thousands of dollars go by because they analyze things to death.

Working with Greens

Greens think they are the most intelligent people around. In just a few minutes, you will be able to easily tell if you have a green prospect. Why? Because they will want to know everything!

Forget about selling to a green. They have to sell themselves on the home-based business opportunity. Greens will need to check everything out with a fine tooth comb. This includes the website and all the links in it, testimonials, conference calls, articles, etc. As you can see, you will need to be on your toes and have detailed information ready when working with a green.

Another thing to remember about greens is to speak very clearly, be upfront, answer all their questions, and send them to websites.

You do not need to call greens between phone calls. If you do, they likely will be abrupt and see you as pushy salesperson. Greens need to go at their own pace.

What usually happens is that in few weeks, they will call you for more information and to inform you they are ready to start.

Reds-The High Achievers

Reds are money motivated and money focused people. They make up only 15% of the population.

Don’t even try to talk to a red about their families, vacations, and other personal issues. They just are not interested in talking about them.

Working with Reds

Reds are focused on the money. They are totally focused on sales and are the corporate CEO types, let’s “get the job done now” people. Of course, everyone wants reds in their organizations!

However, its important to keep in mind that reds are not the mentoring and coaching types. Their egos are huge and they order people around. Reds want to do things their way. This type of attitude works well in the CEO world, but not well at all in the network marketing home business world!

So, there you have it. The four types of personalities that you will encounter when you get prospects for your home business. Interact with them based on their profiles, and you likely will see a huge difference in your sign-ups as well as in the activity of your downline.

Paid Survey Programs Offer a Fun and Flexible Way to Earn Extra Cash

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

If you’re looking for a fun and flexible way to earn some extra cash, paid survey programs may just what the doctor ordered. Almost anyone can learn how to get paid to take a survey. There are online survey opportunities available for students, retirees, stay at home parents, and busy professionals. If you have a computer, Internet access, and your own e-mail address, you can start using paid survey opportunities to get the money you need.

If you’re wondering how it’s possible to get paid for something as simple as taking an online survey, it’s helpful to consider the issue from the perspective of the company who is sponsoring the survey. For businesses in many different industries, surveys are a valuable tool that helps a company better understand its customers’ needs and preferences. Surveys help a company discover if an advertising campaign appeals to its target audience or if the taste of a new soft drink is a guaranteed hit. Since the information that surveys provide is so valuable, companies feel that compensating participants for their time is a wise investment.

When you participate in paid survey programs, you are asked to provide information about your age, geographic location, occupation, hobbies, interests, and other demographic characteristics in addition to answering a series of specific survey questions. It’s important to be honest as you’re completing the survey, since the companies who sponsor paid survey opportunities are relying on you to provide accurate data. If you’re worried about the security of your personal information, you can rest easy knowing that all legitimate survey sites have strict privacy policies that prohibit selling or using this data without your permission.

As with most work at home business opportunities, the amount of money you can earn from taking online surveys will vary according to the time and effort you invest in the opportunity. Some people who participate in paid survey programs spend several hours per week taking surveys, while others must attend to work or family obligations. The compensation for survey opportunities is typically based on the amount of time it takes to complete the survey and the type of information you are being asked to provide. However, most experienced survey participants say that they are able to earn an hourly wage that is much greater than what they’d expect from an ordinary part time job.

While the financial rewards of paid survey programs are quite attractive, many participants say they also enjoy taking surveys that offer a chance to receive free product samples or be entered to win gift certificates and other special incentives. If you love to shop, try new products, and share your thoughts with others, working at home taking surveys is the ideal job for you.

#1 Question Asked By Aspiring Home Business Entrepreneurs

Tuesday, September 26th, 2006

When Evaluating Home Business Opportunities, What Should I Specifically Look For, To Make Sure It’s Right For Me?

As a stay-at-home dad with an MBA, I found these traits to be paramount to my ability to effectively operate a six-figure business during odd hours and at various locations throughout the world. My analysis is based on my own successful background. It is not necessarily for everyone. But the payoff can be very rewarding.

The top 3 characteristics that I look for when evaluating home business opportunities are:

FlexibilitySimplicityIncome Potential Flexibility – One of the main reasons why people go into a home based business is to spend more with their family. Many stay-at-home parents are looking for ways to augment their spouse’s income and make a significant financial contribution to the family’s yearly revenue. Yet the demands of raising children and operating a household can detract from traditional business models that require 40-60 hours of work during the usual business days. By looking for home based businesses that you can run during the pre-dawn hours, nap time hours, and evening hours, you will be able to operate your business around your family, rather than the other way around. If you’re like me, your family comes first. Running a business where you’re strapped to a home office meeting the daily demands of traditional business mechanics is no picnic. First, ask yourself, “why do I want to start a home business?”, and you’ll soon realize that having the flexibility to operate your business whenever and wherever you want becomes vitally important. By maximizing your efforts in the shortest amount of time through focused actions and daily goal setting, your flexible business model will save you tremendous headaches and the anxiety associated with the business world.

Simplicity – Having a difficult and challenging home business seems odd to me. Why take on a business where the work is demanding and leaves you without time to enjoy life. While I do highly recommend that people “follow their bliss”, I do strongly suggest that people embark on a business which is easy and fun. I know of many people who invest great sums of money into franchises and other traditional businesses where they’re working 70-80 hour weeks. Essentially, they’ve bought themselves a job. If you focus on looking for a business model which is simple to run and has low stress levels, I believe that you’ll have much more satisfaction and enjoyment with being an at-home entrepreneur. I usually look for businesses which are strong in technology and where I can leverage other people’s time and money. A repeatable franchise-like process and proven system will enable you to start repeating the rewards and generating income more quickly than if you were required to develop your own systems and processes from scratch.

Income Potential – Why are we in business anyway? While “making money” may seem like the obvious answer, I believe that it’s really the freedom the money can buy you. A business is actually in business to serve the needs of others. By focusing our efforts on servicing the greatest number of potential people, we have the greatest opportunity to generate the largest income. Working in a business to make a “few dollars” may not be a great reason to start a business. Having the desire to make a change in your life, a change in others lives, and achieve financial freedom is an awesome trait to consider when evaluating your next home business opportunity. As you focus your business efforts on helping others as your core mission, you’ll end up with tremendous personal satisfaction and more financial satisfaction than you ever dreamed possible.
