101 Home Based Business Ideas But Choose 1

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

In 2006 there are more then a 101 home based business ideas.

And in 2007 this year, it will be more, it could hit an exponential curve with the rapid trend of running your own home based businesses.

From gardening to pets grooming to editing student essays, there are many viable home based business ideas.

And this very fact has its pros and cons.

The pros would be, there is a market for everyone, it is a matter of choice to step up and take action to make your aspiration and reality.

The cons are, best explained with the conventional term of job hopping in the rat race world.

Hence, when you fail in one idea, some of us may just skip to the next idea without even reflecting and make corrections.

I have been through this frankly speaking when I just started out.

I would jump to the next most attractive idea when the present idea haven’t even been brought to fruition.

This has caused me confusion, information overload and ultimately $0.

Now however, with the concentration of a particular idea, namely self- development, my passion niche, by giving my 101% but choosing only to focus this 1 idea has brought on many lights and flow of earnings.

With a clearer vision in mind and rewards of cash, it is motivating.

It will take some trial and errors because like me I was not sure which one is really in it for me.

If you have similar experiences, the 101 ideas, they all seem attractive, isn’t it?

Believe me or believe me not, you decide, that by focusing on just 1.

Giving your 101%

for the 1 chosen niche, miracles will happen when you take the correct route by learning the ropes from people who are where we want to be and by being persistent even when we fall and to bounce back.

The key is to be focus and take consistent action.

In addition, as with all things, you need to have a passion for your chosen business in order for it to sustain, for the very fact that you are going to invest time and some budget into your business.

This has been the discussion of a 101 business ideas but choose 1.

Decide for yourself and stay focus.

Stick to Your Schedule!

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

It’s early in the morning, Saturday Jan 15th and I’m up, had my tea and busy at what I do. ..check emails and tickets created the night before. I have a routine I’ve been using the past number of years that I try my best to stick to, even on the weekends. Especially the weekends. Weekends can be very busy for me, since my girls are usually home with me from school, unless they’re invited to a sleep over. Having them at home can be very distracting so I try my best to get up before they do and get most of my important work done. Do you have a weekend routine or plan?

With a plan or routine, you′ll find that you get things done smoothly and your workload will not be as heavy. It took me several months to come up with a plan that works well for me and all that I have to do. At first it will be a trial and error period finding a routine that will work best for you. I found that by doing the task I dreaded most first worked best for me. I’m very energetic in the morning, so I use that energy to answer all my emails and request for help from our ticket system. This not only allows me to use my morning energy to complete the hardest part of my job, it allows me to free up the rest of the day to cruise along doing other things that’s on my to-do list….. including hitting the closest Starbucks for a tall low foam latte :)

All the best with your work from home career!

How Do You Get Your First Medical Transcription Job?

Monday, August 28th, 2006

One of the biggest challenges for a newly trained medical transcriptionist is finding that first job. It’s the classic dilemma of needing experience to land a job when no one will hire you to give you experience.

This is one of the areas where quality training comes in handy. If you make the right choice in medical transcription schools, the reputation of the school will help you to land a good job. Schools such as The Andrews School of Medical Transcription, M-Tec and CareerStep each have good reputations with many employers. This makes getting hired much easier.

If multiple levels of training are offered, you may be better off taking more than just the minimum level. My own employer, for example, preferred students who took at least the Gold level classes through CareerStep. They weren′t particularly interested in students who only took the basic, Silver level classes. I won′t say it was impossible to get hired as a Silver level student, merely that it was more difficult.

Many schools will offer job placement assistance. If it’s offered, take advantage of it!

Another great way to find your first job is to start asking around at medical transcription forums to see if anyone knows of a company that hires newly trained and inexperienced medical transcriptionists. There are companies out there that will do this. Otherwise I never would have landed my own first medical transcription job. MT Desk has a good forum.

You can also do your own searches online or in the newspaper. There are plenty of job sites such as Monster where you can post your resume and easily apply for any medical transcription jobs that are posted. You can even have the site email you job search results daily.

There are also sites that have lists of medical transcription companies that you can contact and ask if they will test you. Many require 2 or more years’ experience, but if the site doesn’t make their preferences clear, ask!

If you don’t mind working outside the home for a time, check with local hospitals and clinics for on-site positions. It can be much easier to land a job on-site than off when you lack experience. It can also be extremely helpful to be surrounded by people who already know the job quite well.

Whatever you do, keep practicing your transcription. If you have the tapes from your studies, keep on transcribing them. It’s good to keep your mind on it, and you’ll keep improving your skills. Once you land the job, your ability to type fast and accurately becomes even more vital. You don’t want to lose your touch.

7 Tricks For A Successful Home Based Business

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Wouldn′t a home based business be nice?

Working from home is a dream for most people. It can become your reality by following a few simple steps that most people miss.

1. Don’t think “product”
Selling a product is admirable, but if you want fast success this should be your last option. Consider promoting other vendor’s products (affiliate marketing). Utilizing affiliate marketing you can concentrate on converting leads into dollars, rather than supporting a product.

2. Plan
Don’t launch head-long into affiliate marketing with dreams of big dollars. Focus on the dreams, but get the foundation right first. Build a plan of your home business. Map out what you can confidently promote based on products you have used or your own interests.

3. Read
After you have created your home business plan, do some reading. Find out what is available in the market and what benefits each product has. Think about quality rather than huge prices and immediate high returns (you want a business that will grow, not one that only lasts a few months). Promote the best for the customer and you will succeed.

4. Get involved
Find some forums based on broad topics associated with the products you would like to promote. Hang out in the forums and find out what people really want and need. Marry these needs to the benefits in the products.

5. Go
Sign up with affiliate sites like Clickbank and get started. Promote products using methods like Pay Per Click advertising, blogging and article marketing. Do it confidently, in a non-under-handed manner and you will succeed.

6. Manage
Importantly, you must monitor and manage what you are doing on a daily basis. You must know what promotions are making money, showing promise or should be dumped. Without this kind of knowledge your home business is doomed.

7. Rinse and Repeat
Following these steps you will have successful campaigns in no time. Then, just rinse and repeat to build on your strong base.

Success is imminent.

Too Much Choice Can Kill Your Business - How To Stay Focused On Profits

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Is your business laser-focused? Here are three strategies to target your profits…

One of the great traps that Internet entrepreneurs fall into is losing focus.

With all the money-making products, opportunities, and affiliate programs available on the Internet today, it becomes more and more difficult to decide on a singular aim and stick with it.

However, it has been proven in marketing for years that repetition and consistency are the keys to establishing confidence in your customers. This confidence, in turn, is the key ingredient they need in order to buy from you.

As a result, changing directions, products, messages, even look-and-feel too often will alienate your customers before you even get started.

Focus is the key to avoiding this trap.

However, there is a problem. Most budding Internet entrepreneurs flat-out don’t know whether the product they have, or the marketing efforts they undertake, are (a) working or (b) even likely to work. This makes it difficult and worrisome to stay focused on the plan if they don’t see results immediately.

This is where effective Idea planning can save the day.

You need to know 3 things about your business idea in order to stay focused on it confidently:

You need to know that your product meets a well-defined customer need and that they want your solution

You need to know how to reach your customers in a way that your business can afford

You need to know exactly what steps to take to make it happen, and what to watch for to make sure it’s working.

Fortunately, there is an easy step-by-step way to do this.

First, you define who your target market is and how your solution helps them.

Second, you define simple, measurable ways to reach that market. Remember the three key pillars of fast and profitable marketing:

Effective use of pay-per-click instant traffic

Using e-zine ads and articles to broaden your reach

Using Joint Ventures for instantaneous sales

Third, you check the following key variables as your plan progresses, to tell you how to expand or adapt your roll-out for maximum profits:

Number of visitors to your sales page

Number of subscribers to your mailing list

Number of sales resulting from the visitors to your sales page

Following these three steps consistently is all it takes to airlift your business to higher ground. The steps are not guesswork. They’re common sense, and they work.

The Only Guaranteed Way to Be a Winner in Network Marketing

Monday, August 28th, 2006

Will you be one of the 99% of network marketers who never make money with their program?

The numbers don’t look good. Most people who join a network-marketing program never make any money at it. There is still a way to be a winner even if your dreams of making a fortune fall flat.

For a number of reasons, I generally do not recommend network-marketing programs. It’s true that numerous people have and continue to make large fortunes in network marketing. A good friend of mine is poised to the reach the $1 million (per year) mark in his program, and a number of other acquaintances are earning 6 figure incomes through network marketing, but they are the exception.

Network marketers often overstate the potential for income, and understate what it takes to succeed. It takes hard work. It takes time. It takes know-how. Plus it’s so easy to get into network marketing—there are dozens of programs that one can get into for less that the cost of dinner out—that it’s extremely easy to drop out. It’s no wonder there’s such a high “failure” rate.

Nevertheless, there is a way to be a guaranteed winner. It all depends on the one question you must ask, and answer honesty when you are considering any network marketing program.

Here’s the one question: Would you, if there were no money-making opportunity involved, still sign up for this program? In other words, can the product or service stand on its own? Is the product of high enough quality and fairly priced so that even if there were no chance of earning money, you would still be a customer?

Unless you can honesty answer “yes” to that question, stay away. Every legitimate network-marketing program exists primarily to market a product or service. No program can continue to exist without customers for its products and services. You as a network marketer cannot make money without customers.

Why do you think there are so many nutritional companies among the ranks of network marketing programs? Nearly everyone can benefit from nutritional supplements, and high quality supplements make a difference in people’s lives. The majority of people who join and stay in such programs do so for their own personal needs, not because they’re making gobs of money. There are other products and services besides nutritional products that fit this criteria as well.

The company is a winner they have a loyal customer. The customers are winners too because they have access to a product that makes a difference in their lives, at a fair price.

Maybe you we’re hoping this article would tell you a guaranteed way to make tons of money in network marketing. Sorry, there’s no such thing. The thing is, if you answer the above question honestly, not only do you guarantee that you’ll be a winner, you increase you chances of making money as well.

Online Paid Surveys That Really Pay - Skip the Losers

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

Nobody wants to be ripped off, and that goes especially when you are talking about online paid surveys. They are really a dime a dozen, but finding that one in a million program that actually will put some money in your pocket and not just line the pockets of the company that you joined. Here are some things that you should look for when it comes to genuine online paid surveys and some things to look out for and avoid the wasted time.

1. Look at the fine print - Many of the paid survey programs on the Internet are for real and you can make money but you have to jump through so many hoops before you get paid that you’ll never complete them. The thing is that once these people know that you are interested in online paid surveys then they feel like they have the green light to bombard you with email after email giving you offers that will get you nowhere.

2. Do they pay upfront - Some of the online paid survey programs will actually give you some money just for signing up, this is often an indication that it is possible to make some money with the program. Even if you don’t find that they are giving you surveys that are legitimate the cash up front is cool anyway.

Just be cautious when joining the free get paid for filling out survey websites. You can give them enough information that they can use to pay you but you should never need to give them your credit card. Remember, free is free and when they step over that line you need to step back to your own side of the line.

Tim spends his time finding unique ways for people to profit from the Internet and is following a life long dream of being an author.

Don’t Fear Your Home Business Competition

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

You have taken a great deal of time and put forth effort seeking out a home business opportunity that matches your individual desires, skills and goals. You have registered with a legitimate and supportive program and you have taken the time to create a detailed written business plan for yourself. You have researched promotional methods and strategies and perhaps you have even begun to create your own web site. You feel primed to move forward with the initial steps you have so carefully structured.

One potentially serious pitfall needs to be avoided at all costs. Some new home business entrepreneurs develop a mindset that they “want it all” and perceive all others promoting the same or similar products, services, and opportunities as the “enemy”, and they begin to develop a fiercely protective attitude towards their new business. Fear of your competition will not steer you toward your goal of independence; rather it will propel you towards isolation.

I would invite you to take a daring step outside of yourself and reach out directly to those you might perceive as “the competition”. In doing so you are highly likely to encounter numerous friendly, helpful entrepreneurs just like yourself, some of whom have made quite a success of themselves with their home business.

There are many sources for seeking out and interacting with similar minded entrepreneurs. The program you have enrolled in no doubt has numerous forums and if not, do a web search for home business forums and make a habit of visiting them and begin to make yourself known. Post your questions, concerns, and ideas in the forums. You will absolutely receive responses from other enthusiastic home business owners. Get to know them individually and exchange email addresses. Strike up friendships and share your goals, methods, and hopes. If you have a web site, swap links.

There is no reason to protect yourself from or avoid others in your field. Those who develop their business with a stance of protectionism and isolationism are likely to remain in isolation and indeed may fail as a direct result. A network of friends and mentors within your field is a tool that you will come to find invaluable as your network will aid you in sharpening your goals, direction, and strategies. The Internet is a vast place and there is ample business for all who are dedicated and apply a well-laid out strategy. Seek out and befriend those in your field. Don’t make the mistake of shunning them. You won’t be sorry!

Data Entry Option for Working at Home

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

Finding data entry work to do at home is becoming easier as this industry is growing by leaps and bounds. In the year 2000, it was estimated that over 4 million people work from home, and those doing data entry comprise a large part of that group. Many companies need to subcontract their work out to self-employed data entry specialists. As in house data entry work is declining, the job prospects for home based data entry workers are growing more and more.

Work at home data entry processors make sure that information is handled with efficiency and accuracy. Data entry operators generally type text and enter data into their home computer and then transfer the information to the company through their Internet connection. The only required equipment for the work at home data entry operator is a functioning computer, some basic software programs, a telephone, and a stable and fast Internet connection. They also need to be self-motivated and willing to work.

There are a wide variety of tasks that a work at home data entry professional can be assigned. Data entry operators can type in information for companies. They may also be assigned to edit current information to make sure it is up to the company standards. The data entry professional may be asked to proofread text documents for accuracy and content. 6 Benefits Of Work At Home Computer Jobs

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

As the internet continues to evolve, more and more people are turning to work at home computer jobs for obvious reasons. Having a work from home job gives you benefits that you will find with no other profession available. While the list of benefits could go on forever, here are 6 benefits of work at home computer jobs.

1. You choose your career:

When you have a work at home computer job, you have the ability to choose what you want to get into. Certainly you can do this with a 9 to 5 job, but there are not always open positions. With the internet, you can create your own business or join a company that is already having success online.

2. You are the boss:

Finally no more listening to duties and doing projects you are not interested in. You can work when you want, start any kinds of projects that you want, and take your business in the direction that you want. Certainly you have to be motivated to start and finish projects on your own, but there is a kind of freedom that you probably have never felt before.

3. Work when you want:

Some people are morning people while others are night people. When you work at home, you can work whatever schedule allows you to get the most done. And if you are on vacation and want to stay a little longer, you have the ability to take that extra few days off since you make the schedule.

4. Work wherever you want:

Most work from home jobs require little supplies at all, which means you can work wherever you want. No longer do you have to worry about moving and finding a new job or getting behind when you take a vacation. If you have a laptop, you can continue working while on vacation with the click of a button.

5. More family time:

It is always rough when you work a 9 to 5 job because hardly ever is it actually a 9 to 5 job. Most times you end up working until around 6 or later and then have to deal with traffic. When it is all said and done, you are home in time to eat dinner with your family and send the kids off to bed. Now you can cherish those special times of your kids growing up and spend quality time with the entire family.

6. The sky is the limit:

Perhaps the biggest upside to work at home computer jobs is that the sky is the limit. You have the ability to make whatever you want with your business depending on your dedication and time put into it. There is no hiding the fact that it is time consuming and a lot of work to be successful, but there is nothing stopping you from continuously excelling when you work from home.
