Easy-To-Use System For Approaching Niche Product

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

Let’s get started with this interesting fact. You are likely to make more money online selling a niche product rather than a business product. There are just too many people trying to promote a self improvement on business product these days. You are better off selling a niche product where you can actually target your customer more accurately.

One good way in which to approach any niche product research phase is to setup multiple content sites that are monetized with Adsense ads. I am pretty sure you have already heard this word, “CONTENT IS KING″! Well my dear friend, it still is. The best way to do this is by writing a 400 - 600 words article and put it into your website. If you can’t write one, just hire a ghost writer but you have to spend some of your money for them to produce your desire article.

If a given site starts generating a considerable amount of natural traffic, test out some affiliate links. You might be surprise when people start purchasing your affiliate product. Once the traffic is in, you have the power in your hand to make money by not doing anything. That is kind of cool, isn’t it?

Once you are making lots of profit from your affiliate product, then begin working on your own product for that niche. At first, it might be hard for you to do this but if you put your heart into it, you will make more money than you could possible imagine.

Make an attempt to brand your niche product. For instance, you could use an interesting concept in Butterfly Marketing written by TOP Internet Marketer, Mike Filsaime or you could use your own name, especially if you have a considerable amount of knowledge in your own industry. Branding will help your product gain notoriety; and will also facilitate the creation of pre-launch ‘buzz.’

If you feel lost, re-read the section above about the importance of content and ‘buzz’, once you have done that, we will move on to the next step on approaching any niche product.

Purchase a program that allows you to create your own software. This will help you to expand your niche product creation abilities beyond simply creating an executable e-book or a PDF. Additionally, software has a higher perceived value, which means it is likely to convert better than other options. However, this will vary from niche to niche. If you are wondering how the top Internet Marketer make their money online, the answer is they used or purchased themselves a good software to expedite their sales.

If you do not currently have potential customers for your product, all you need to do is performing a preliminary scan of the market to determine whether or not a product launch will be viable. For instance, is competition far too dense? Do competing sites refuse to participate with each other out of fear that it will dwindle their customer bases to nothing? Keep on asking yourself a few questions before you decide to join any niches product.

If you have sites that already receive natural search engine traffic for a given niche, consider setting up polls on those sites to determine what your best course of action might be in terms of product creation. For instance, ask your visitors what type of product they want – software, e-books, videos, audios, or something else entirely.

Begin testing this idea right away and start making money online with a niche product. Trust me, if you follow this simple guidelines, your dreams of earning 5 to 6 figure incomes and fire your boss at the same time is just right at the corner.

How To Build a Business With Attitude

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

Starting and running a new business can be frustrating. There are times when you wish round pegs would fit into square holes. And occasionally you wonder why round pegs don’t fit into round holes. Things don’t always go as planned.

More often than not the problem lies with neither the pegs nor the holes. As my father used to say, “You’re not holding your tongue right.” In other words, you need to look at things from a different angle - get the pegs straight up and down so they fall right into place.

Here are five key ingredients to building your business with a determined, purposeful, and successful attitude… an attitude of increase.

1. Release Your Old Attitudes About Money

Money, in and of itself, has no value. You can’t float on it, you can’t shower with it, you can’t eat it, and you can’t drive it. If you tell it to roll over, it just ignores you.

Starting a business with the goal of making money is meaningless. Your business is more likely to do what money is good at doing by itself: Playing dead.

Okay, this is obvious stuff, right? You already knew that. You want money to buy a boat that floats, a shower head that pulsates, and a fast car to get the really good Chinese food.

Unfortunately, wanting money for those reasons still isn’t good enough.

We can agree that money is a tool by which you purchase or provide something of value, but now we need to go a step further. We need to get in sync with the golden calf of economics: Growth.

Growth comes from giving without receiving, and if you′re selling, giving more use value than you receive in cash value. But, wait a minute? Whom are we talking about? Your growth or the other guy’s?

Yours, of course. Well, both actually. You see, what this does is create in your mind an attitude of increase. Hoarding money or providing minimal use value creates a mindset of stagnation and decrease.

Some of the wealthiest people the world has known understood this principle well. Andrew Carnegie gave tens of millions in money, gifts, and services during his lifetime. Early in his life, John D. Rockefeller was gifting more than half his paycheck while making less than five dollars per week. An attitude of increase was firmly set in their minds. The more you give the more you get.

2. Practice an Attitude of Gratitude

What’s really going on when you thank someone? What is the attitude you are expressing? It’s an attitude of receiving with appreciation. Receiving. That word has a nice tone, don’t you think?

Gratitude is the compliment of giving. Giving clears the path for growth, and gratitude brings the good stuff to you– and keeps it coming. It’s all part of the attitude of increase.

The great part about gratitude is you can even do it alone. Give yourself a pat on the back for everything that brought you to this exact moment. Heck, congratulate yourself on having the good fortune of finding this great lesson about being grateful. And in all modesty, might I add how grateful I am you’re reading it!

Practice sincere gratitude several times throughout your day. In this way you are able to stay connected with an attitude of increase and recognize abundance as it comes your way.

3. Create An Attitude of Daily Success

When you awake each morning, decide on at least one thing you can do that day to further your business aspirations. Write it down and declare it out loud.

Next, give thanks for the opportunity to create a successful day. It’s your first act of gratitude for the day and sets the tone for a winning attitude. And don’t forget to implement your attitude of giving throughout the day. Give your customers an extra 10% discount, or if your business isn’t off the ground yet, give the dog an extra doggy treat. The important thing is to keep the flow going.

Creating daily success takes practice and hard work. Start small to build up confidence with a series of quick successes, then keep raising the bar. But who’s afraid of a little hard work? The rewards are fantastic. As the great 19th century orator Henry Ward Beecher once said, “It’s easier to go down a hill than up it but the view is much better at the top.”

4. Expect The Unexpected

What happens when you practice an attitude of increase? The unexpected happens. The clarity of purpose you defined at the beginning of the day is ever-present around you. The gratitude you express regularly along with the growth value bestowed upon others screams to the world, “Winner!”

Now you are free to notice, from among the thousands of pieces of information entering your brain each day, those things which encapsulate your purpose. Opportunities appear out of nowhere. Unexpectedly, it would seem. Expect it. You are plugged into an attitude of increase.

5. Winners Start Out With Winning Attitudes

Why do some people create lives of abundance and success, while others lament about the cruel hand life dealt them?

You are what you think. You can only achieve what you believe is achievable.

By accepting as fact a success that has yet to come, you allow your future self to effectively define your present self. Successful people are successful before they become successful. This happens instantly in the moment you define and announce your focused, unwavering intent. Success is automatic.

The world delivers to those who ask. And of those who ask, it is those who expect to be answered who will receive. Do not say you want the thing you desire, for your request is already answered. To want is not to have.

Do not say you will have what you desire, because that is the same as wanting.

Instead, have the thing you desire. Make up your mind it is already yours. Believe it is so because it is so. You have an attitude of increase. There is no other outcome.

All right, do you have your attitude on? Great! Here are some hexagon shaped pegs and some trapezoid shaped holes. Let’s see your stuff!

9 Steps To Creating A Successful Website For Network Marketers

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

If you’re a network marketer, or affiliate marketer, you will stand a much better chance of long term success if you build a website. It helps develop credibility with your prospects, and when it’s done right, it can even provide you with a steady stream of leads from the search engines.

For many people, building a website may seem like a daunting task. It doesn’t need to be, however. There are a lot of WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editors that take care of the ‘behind the scenes’ HTML coding. So, what are the steps in creating a site?

1. You need to decide on a subject, or theme.

You probably have a broad theme of ‘online business’, or ‘work at home’ in mind. However, try and look at the different types of prospects you might like to attract. What are their interests? This can help in narrowing a topic down a bit. However, you might like to target a broad area too. Just be sure not to include too many ‘irrelevant’ areas. You can always build other sites for that.

Another way to look at finding a topic for your site is to consider what the main product is. If it’s a health product, you might want to build a health related site. This way you can sell products to customers, build a list of subscribers, and they may well be interested in developing a business themselves. Above all, though - be creative (and do your keyword research)!

2. You need a Domain name

Pick a domain name that says something about your business, whilst preferably containing your main keyword. It is usually best to pick a 2 or 3 word phrase. But it’s not necessary (or really desirable) to separate the words by dashes.

3. You need to organize the structure of your site

Your site should have a logical structure so visitors will find what they are looking for. Whilst it goes without saying, many people create sites that have very poor usability and navigation. Have your subject organized in your own mind before you start the website. This can really help keep the final product clear.

4. You need keywords to build articles around

Keyword focused articles help increase your chance of ranking well in the search engines, provided they are chosen well. They provide a way of helping the search bots identify what a page is about, and they can also provide a good source of inspiration for the articles themselves. Wordtracker is a good source of keywords.

5. You need web hosting

There are some packages that come with webhosting and a web builder. If you don’t know HTML, and find the prospect of transferring files to the server daunting, this is a good option to explore.

6. You need to upload your site to your web host

7. You need a way of capturing visitor’s name and email address

This will allow you to start building a relationship with your subscribers, your prospects. It’s an excellent way to gently introduce people to your opportunity, and you can also make money by referring other good products you come across. Best of all, this list is yours.

8. You need a follow-up system that is automated

Autoresponders allow you to have a system in place that follows up with your prospects automatically, over time, providing them with the good content you write, and gently introducing them to your business offers.

9. You need to start driving traffic to your site.

This is a big subject, but there are a number of very effective ways to send traffic to your site, irrespective of the search engines (though some of them will help in your search engine rankings too). Articles, and exchanging links are two no-cost ways of building a steady stream of traffic, and they also help get your site indexed.

The Insider’s View Into the MLM Opt-In Leads Industry

Tuesday, February 28th, 2006

Everyone wants to be on the inside… at least if you are on the outside looking in. I’m old enough to remember walking with my parents or grandparents through the downtown streets of Springfield, IL at Christmas time, and looking in the display windows of all the Christmas decorations, toys, and electric trains. I was on the outside, and I wanted inside where the good stuff was.

Well, I don’t know if you are on the outside of the MLM Leads industry wanting to get in, but I want to take you on a tour - to get the inside scoop of the leads business. If you knew what actually went on in some arenas, you may think the inside scoop looks like this picture.

How Leads are Generated

For the most part, network marketing leads are generated over the Internet. While I don’t have a scientific study for this across all the leads companies, I would estimate 85-90% of all leads you find for sale are originated on the Internet.

There are two main reasons for this. First, the Internet is where most people are doing their research today when looking for jobs, for ways to make extra money, how to invest, etc. So, why not go where the people are looking. Second, it is the most cost effective (usually).

Generally speaking, a person is surfing the Internet, doing a Google search, and checking out their options for ways to make extra income. Or, sometimes the person is not even thinking about wanting more money when an online ad catches their attention and they check it out. So, they fill out a form and hit submit.

That is the basics of online lead generation. Some person is out there surfing the Net. There is an online ad. The person fills out the online form and hits submit, and BOOM, they are now a prospect waiting to be sold.

Sounds innocent enough huh? In fact, it sounds like quite a nice system. Wouldn’t we all like to receive a batch of leads after they had been surfing the Internet for ways of making money from home… they filled out a form… and now you have their name, phone, and E-mail address in your hands.

But, let’s look at what happens out there sometimes and some of the variables that can make a HUGE difference in the type of lead you now hold in your hand.

Incentivized Leads

in-cen-tive (noun) - : something that incites or has a tendency to incite to determination or action

One of the biggest problems that exists among the Internet lead generation business is the incentives that “incites” or “entices” a person to fill out a form and hit submit. If you have purchased leads long enough, then you have probably come across the person who did not know they were going to be contacted about a home business… instead they were going to get a new Video iPod, $10,000, or a vacation cruise.

So, what do you do? You go to XYZ Leads company and you buy a batch of leads. The leads are $2.25 each, so you buy 50 of them for $112.50. There is a chance you may find a good prospect in there, but, for the most part, you are going to have “wishy-washy″ prospects.

No lead is ever pure because we don’t know what other sites the prospect has been to, filling out forms, and checking out other businesses. However, if you are going to invest in leads, it is worth a few extra minutes of research or an email or phone call to the owners, to know what kind of leads you are purchasing. And, even more important, order a smaller batch of leads to test market before moving forward with a company. Leads are all about results, so ask and test.

Five Tips for Avoiding Home Business Scams

Monday, February 27th, 2006

Here are five tips to avoiding the scams and finding the right home-based business opportunity for you.

IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE… It probably is. If you find an opportunity for which you can make a
lot of money without spending any time working, move on to the next opportunity.

VAGUE HEADLINES “Tammy made $4,000 in her first month. So can you.” Testimonials that are difficult to
verify may not be legitimate. If the ad only gives first names and photographs of people holding scads
of cash, be careful. If Tammy is a legitimate home-working entrepreneur, it’s possible that she made
that $4,000 in her first month…and significantly less after that time period.

Also be wary of companies that offer to sell you lists of companies that are looking for home-workers.
A friend of mine once shelled out $95 for such a list, which turned out to be a listing straight from
her yellow pages.

THE OVERHYPED Be leery if there is a strict time limit for investing in a business opportunity. Scammers
know that the faster you act, the less you think (and research). And if this is a fly-by-night company,
these time limits provide a better opportunity to take the money and run.

Also, don′t get too excited about deep discounts on starting costs. More costs may come later. And keep
in mind that, in many states, the government does not regulate business opportunities with investments of
less than $500. Some of the worst scams may fall into this category.

RESEARCH Use your knowledge of the internet to avoid being scammed. Check for listings with the National
Fraud Information Center ( fraud.org/) as well as the Better Business Bureau ( bbb.org)

You can also conduct a search for the business opportunities on Google Groups ( groups.google.com)
Here you’ll find an archive of newsgroup postings. If someone has been scammed, chances are they’ll want to warn others.

IF YOU DECIDE TO SIGN… Get everything in writing, including business expenses– from fees to equipment
to supplies. Keep detailed records.

Some online opportunities are lucrative and legitimate, and–armed with a few online resources–it’s never
been easier to sort the good from the bad.

When it comes to working from home, “when there’s a will, there’s a way.” Now it’s up to you to find the way
that best suits you and your lifestyle.

The Birth of a Successful Internet Business: Part Five of Ten — Planning Your Website Strategy

Monday, February 27th, 2006

Developing a professional website strategically designed to sell your products or services is one of the most important factors in determining your success. However, it is only the first step.

Before you begin the actual design process, you must first determine your overall strategy and design your website accordingly.

Internet marketers have basically two choices:

=> Design a content website that includes not only your products and services, but also information and resources that will be of interest to your target market.

=> Design a mini website that focuses on just one product or service, with no other content of any kind.

Although both types of sites can be effective, your success will ultimately depend on your site design and marketing strategies — both will play a very important role.

Content oriented sites are sites that provide visitors with content such as articles, tutorials, free ebooks and resources. This type of site attracts their target audience with incentives. Their products and services are mentioned on the main page with a link to further information.

Content sites usually profit by educating their visitors. For example, a content site selling pet supplies might provide a basic tutorial to assist their visitors in learning how to groom a dog. They provide this tutorial completely free however, the main purpose for this tutorial is to educate their visitors. And in turn, plug their products.

When you provide your visitors with quality information that teaches and informs, you are not only gaining their trust in you by sharing your expertise, but you’re also building your credibility, which is very important on the Internet.

Once you’ve gained your visitors’ trust, they will be much more apt to purchase your products or services. However, above all else, you must never abuse their trust in you. You must be completely honest with your visitors and have a sincere desire to assist them. If your sole purpose in developing your own Internet business is for financial gain, your chance of success will be minimal.

The key to using this technique effectively is to provide content that targets your potential customer. This content is used to presell your visitors through education.

Mini-sites are different from content sites, as they don’t provide any content. They usually contain one or two pages and completely focus on one product or service. Basically, the site is just a sales letter for the product.

A mini-site should be neatly designed in standard HTML with no Flash or fancy plug-ins and very few graphics. There should be no banners or outside links of any kind — nothing that will distract your visitors’ attention.

The sole purpose of a mini-site is to attract highly targeted traffic. The more targeted the better. For example, if you have a website that sells a number of products, a good mini-site would focus on one specific product instead of all of the products. You could create a mini-site for each product you offer.

No matter which type of site you design, keep in mind, your website is a direct reflection of you and your business. The appearance of your website is the most important factor in determining your website’s value. If your site doesn′t look professional or pleasing to the eyes at first glance, its perceived value will be low. The perceived value of your website will have a great impact on your success.

Not only must your website have a professional appearance, but it must also be specifically designed to sell. Everything within your website should have one specific purpose — getting your visitors to take action.

Every part of your website must be strategically designed. From your overall design to your sales copy — each will play a very important role.

Your website is the most important sales tool you have. A professional website should possess all of the following:

• Your Own Domain (www.yoursite.com)
• Quality, Dependable Web Host
• Customized Email Addresses:

- service@yoursite.com
- support@yoursite.com
- info@yoursite.com
- admin@yoursite.com
• Target Your Potential Customers
• Professional Appearance
• Professional Looking Graphics
• Quality Products/Services
• Effective Sales Copy
• Easy Ordering Process
• Automated, Personalized Thank You Letters
• Customer Database
• Personalized Follow-up Letters
• Opt-in List
• Well Organized
• Easy to Navigate
• Load Quickly
• Search Engine Optimized

Take your time and do your homework prior to designing your website. Look at the entire picture and plan each step very carefully. Your website is the storefront of your business. Make it shine.

Relationship Recruiting for MLM

Monday, February 27th, 2006

As you recruit new people into your business you will only come across three types of people. 1) People who are open to opportunity, 2) people who are wishy-washy, and 3) people who are not interested in anything you have to offer. You may not realize this, but it is important to build relationships with all of these people.

You are in the networking business. Your job is to talk about various elements of your business to as many people as possible on a daily basis. Does that mean you have to try and recruit every one you meet? Of course not. Yet, that is what many people do when they first get involved in MLM, and some of us never kick the habit.

The most important thing is that you are consistent with people in your approach, and that you are genuinely interested in each individual. Building a relationship with everyone you meet is the most powerful way to recruit. Sure you want to have success immediately, and recruit tons of new distributors. But what good is it to go out and convince a bunch of people to join your business, only to have them quit a few weeks later. If you try to aggressively recruit everyone you meet and know, not only will you destroy relationships, but you will not find solid leaders.

Recruiting is a sorting process. You are fishing, not hunting. The most important skill in your approach is listening. You must identify which type of person they are, and adjust your next few words accordingly. No matter which type they are, a 1, 2 or 3, you still have an opportunity to build a relationship.

Usually 2’s are people that we waste most of our time on. Often times, people will say they are interested, when they really are not. If some one is genuinely interested in your business, they will come to a meeting, the first time you invite them. The most important thing is turning the 2’s and 3’s into 1’s.

A rule that makes sense to me is this:

* Spend 80f your recruiting efforts with 1’s

* Spend 20f your efforts with 2’s

* Spend 0f your recruiting efforts with 3′s.

If you have 3’s around you that you would like to do business with, the right ones will come around when the time is right. The 2’s are usually wasting your time because they cannot make a decision. People who cannot make decisions will not be producers even if you do recruit them. 1’s are action oriented, and ready to rock. Expose, and re-expose if necessary, then they will be ready to roll.

Showing that you genuinely care about people will allow you to build powerful and long lasting relationships whether or not they do business with you. The more relationships you build, the more people you will meet that will be interested in what you are doing.

10 Ways to Sell Expensive Affiliate Products and Make Huge Commissions

Monday, February 27th, 2006

One of the quickest ways to boost your affiliate income is to offer high ticket products. Commissions as low as 5% can still pay off handsomely, provided the item carries a big enough price tag. Plus some pay-per-lead programs offer hefty bounties of $50 and up for qualified leads.

So why don’t more affiliates build sites around high-ticket products? Because the higher the price, the more likely your visitors will experience “sticker shock.” It’s only natural. People’s internal resistance kicks in because they’re always a little uneasy when it’s time to shell out big bucks online. This is true no matter how badly they want what you’re selling.

But if there’s one thing super-affiliates know how to do, it’s overcome buyer resistance. So here are 10 never-fail techniques I’ve been teaching my clients and students. Apply each one to your affiliate business, and you’ll soon see skyrocketing conversion rates on higher-priced products and lucrative upsells.

#1 - Turn your pocket calculator into a salesman.

Numbers can almost always support of your selling proposition, so put those numbers to work! Ask yourself how many ways can you MONETIZE the benefit of your product or service. Then put those numbers on the table.

For example, if you’re selling a $1499 teleclass that teaches people options trading, calculate the LOWEST possible profit they will make from your system in one year’s time. Say that even if they got the most mediocre results, they’d still make an average of $300 per day.

That means in a 5 day work week they’d make an average of $1500. In a 4-week month they’d make $6000. In a 50-week year they’d make $75,000. Now ask them to compare that to their current salary or hourly wage. Don’t hype it up, just let the numbers speak for themselves.

#2 – Break the cost into easily digested chunks.

Ask yourself, what sounds better: “$29.95 a month” or “$359 a year?” Even if the prospect has to pay the entire sum up front, show them how that big price tag isn’t so big after all.

A variation of this is comparing the price of your item with some commonplace or routine expense: “For less than the price of your monthly double-lattes, you could be learning the secrets of billion-dollar investment managers…”

#3 – Word the price to make it seem tiny!

A $197 annual subscription sounds like a lot of money. But gaining access to business-critical information for just 54 cents a day sounds like, well… peanuts!

#4 – State the value of each component, then add ‘em up for dramatic effect.

This works best for information products, but if you’re creative, you can use it with almost anything, especially consulting services.

If your investment course sells for $599, make a list of everything your buyers get: digital reports, videos, workbook, telephone hotline, private site access, software, etc. Put a price tag on each - make it realistic, please – then show how they add up to much more than $599.

Or let’s say you’re offering to install, configure, and customize an off-the-shelf software package for a total price of $699. Simply show how many hours you spend on each element, multiply by a realistic but high-end hourly rate… and show how buyers are getting $2500 worth of services for only $699!

#5 – Bundle in bonuses or add-ons that your prospects can’t easily price.

This takes some extra work, but I really love it because so few affiliates are doing it.

Let’s say you’re an affiliate for high-ticket digital SLR cameras. Tell your buyers that when they purchase any camera over $599 from you, and they send you a copy of their receipt, they’ll get a bonus CD-ROM packed with digital photography tips, imaging freeware and shareware, and your handpicked online resources for supplies, accessories, and photo printing.

Sure, you’ll need to contact freeware and shareware authors to get their permission to include their software on your disk. (Guess what? Almost none will refuse – you’re promoting them via direct mail for free!) And yes, you’ll have to write up some tips and find photo resources.

But you can pack this CD with affiliate links. And you’ll be saving your prospects a boat load of time. Your buyers can’t compare it to anybody else’s bonus CD, since nobody’s offering one quite like yours. You can put any realistic value on it, promote it heavily, and get endless viral marketing value out of it.

And best of all, it’s a way to get buyers to VOLUNTARILY give you both their email and snail mail addresses! Nice.

#6 - Show a huge return compared to the purchase price.

Spell out, in dollars and cents, how the cost of your product or service is a drop in the bucket compared to the returns it generates.

Let’s say your $799 workplace safety review course helps businesses pass inspections. Then calculate the exact cost of failing an inspection. List fines, penalties, cost of business shutdowns, etc. These will literally add up to five figures, a huge expense compared to the price of your course.

#7 – Make your prospects relieved that you’re charging so little!

This one’s so easy, I’m amazed more affiliates don’t do it. Show higher prices for other products… then tell them your price, which of course is much, much less!

Are you selling an investment course? First talk about $1 million private investment accounts… and the huge commissions investment managers charge. By the time you tell them about your $599 course, your prospect will breathe a sigh of relief!

Sure, it’s an apples-to-oranges comparison. That’s the whole point. You’re showing your prospect why your $599 course is the least expensive choice for them… and maybe the only affordable one.

#8 - Preempt price objections.

Most sales pages for expensive products and services play on emotions and benefits. They build desire and perceived value over several thousand words and literally “sell” the person BEFORE price is even mentioned.

But sometimes you can do the opposite -– and reap big rewards by pre-qualifying visitors. That’s right, tell people the price up front. Then play on the drama and exclusivity of a big number to weed out the tire kickers!

Here’s an example: “This course is for serious investors only. It costs $1299. If you’re scared by that price, or if you’re unwilling to invest in your ability to create wealth, then our course is not for you.”

Sure, this approach is based on snob appeal. But it’s also very powerful reverse psychology: the more you tell a prospect they don’t qualify, the more some people will insist that they DO!

If you don’t believe this approach works, some of the greatest direct response copy of all time has taken it all the way to the bank. One fund-raising letter that generated millions for a bird-watching expedition stated: “It will cost you $10,000 and about 26 days of your time. Frankly, you will endure some discomfort, and may even face some danger.”

#9 – Use a “false close” to create suspense.

It’s a classic… and it still works. Establish the value and desirability of your product without a doubt, but delay gratification for a few more paragraphs while piling on even more benefits.

The most common false close is the old “But wait, there’s more…” tactic. Even though your case is made, you don’t stop and mention one or two more irresistible benefits.

This is also a great place to meet possible last-minute objections by pulling out the “Warning! Don’t buy any investment course unless it meets these 8 criteria.” If your prospects have gotten this far, they WANT the product. So give them 8 or 10 or 20 more ways to justify that big expenditure!

#10 – Sound like the leading expert in your field.

Price resistance diminishes in direct proportion to trust. If your visitors believe that you’re an unchallenged expert in your niche, they’re much more likely to make that big-ticket purchase.

How do you establish this aura of expertise. Offer UNIQUE solutions they can’t get elsewhere. Show PROOF that your product or service works as promised. Display prominent TESTIMONIALS and ENDORSEMENTS from respected authorities in related fields.

And avoid hype at all costs. It’s far better to sound low key — but confident –- than to scream for attention.

And remember, prospects aren’t stupid. If you back up your claims with hard facts and data, they’ll gladly plunk down hundreds to thousands for your affiliate promotions. But if you don’t, they’re smart enough to look to your competitors!

The Principle Behind Online Paid Surveys

Sunday, February 26th, 2006

People who take online surveys because they get paid to fill out the survey questionnaire are sometimes a bit self-conscious about giving their opinions. They may say defensive things such as, “Hey, I don′t know! That’s just my opinion. Someone else might think differently!” or, “Who am I to say? Who am I to decide that?”

What they need to understand is the principle of opinion sampling. The principle of sampling states that with a more or less homogeneous population, a sampling of a representative few of these will accurately reflect the whole population within a few percentage points. To get more accuracy, take bigger representative samples.

That means, for example, that if a mayonnaise packer and seller wants to know what percentage of the people in Pennsylvania prefers lemon flavored mayonnaise over other flavors, they don’t have to ask everyone in Pennsylvania to find out! If they ask a representative sample of Pennsylvanians, say 1,500 to 3,000, which they prefer, they can project the results onto the entire population within a ‘margin of error’ of between 2.5 and 4%. That’s close enough for most marketing planning purposes.

So when you receive an invitation to take a survey, don’t worry about what other people might think or say. Your survey info is part of the sample they are taking. Chances are if you think a certain way there are others who feel the same way. Just give your honest opinion. The survey maker does not care if you are in the 90% group or the 10% group. What they care about is whether the opinions are split 90-10 or 10-90 (or 60-40!).

When people make buying decisions the only valid opinion is their own, which is only fair, and entirely correct. After all, they are buying the product for themselves, with their own money! So they will act based on what they honestly think. And that reality is what the market researchers want to know.

At base then, all opinion surveys of whatever type are using this same basic principle. It means that to know pretty well what a large group thinks you do not have to ask all members of the group, just a small representative sample.

This is what makes it possible to find out what people think in an economical way and it makes surveys of all types, including paid online surveys, work and yield valuable information. Because of this the Market Research people can afford to pay 2,000 people for their opinions because that tells them what maybe 4,000,000 would say if they asked them every one! When they pay the 2,000 their $20.00 each for their opinions, it is really only costing them a penny each to know what the 4,000,000 would say!

The bottom line? Take the paid online surveys offered to you, give your honest opinion, whatever it is, and take your $20 fee proudly, knowing that it saved someone somewhere a lot of money even if it did only take you 10 minutes to fill out!
