Your Home Biz Store

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

To make your home biz store successful, you need to establish the following characteristics. First. you need to cultivate the trust and credibility of others by being knowledgeable and honest about your business. Second. don’t exaggerate claims because people are wary of these tactics, and you may lose customers. Third, send email messages with at least one question that requires an answer.

Fourth, make sure the messages are short; long messages more than likely won’t be read. Fifth, ask people to acknowledge that they got your message about your home biz store. Sixth, be aware of stricter spam practices as many email providers are blocking messages even if they aren’t spam. Seventh, don’t expect a get rich quick scheme; it takes time for a home business to grow.

Eighth, be persistent with your home biz store. Ninth, expect emotional highs and lows as there will be successes and setbacks. There are time management skills you can utilize. You can make a “to do” list. Write the list down, and leave it somewhere you are sure to look. Of course the list can be flexible some tasks will have to be put off, and the list may need updating.

Also instead of writing everything on scraps of paper, invest in a simple spiral notebook to record what’s going on. It can be a good memory jogger and can be used for future reference. There are also ways to manage the telephone. Record an effective message such as “Hello, this is John Smith. I’m not available now, but if you leave a message about what your call concerns and the best time to get up with you, I’ll call you back later.” If somebody can answer your calls for you, have them say the same. You want to know what the call is about to better prepare yourself for further conversations.

Your first priority in your home biz store is your customer; the old cliche “the customer is always right″ is tired but true. Offer your customers newsletters to keep them apprised of your doings. Ask customers if they want to be notified if you change your website. Keep in contact with a customer after a purchase to ensure satisfaction. Send them surveys, and use rewards as incentives such as gift certificates.

If you have a website, make sure it’s easy to use. Have a “frequently asked questions″ or FAQ section to tell customers your policies. Send surveys asking about site navigation. Fix any problems promptly. Make your contact information readily available; post hyperlinked email addresses and toll-free numbers. A nice touch is sending longtime customers thank you gifts, emailing them cards on special occasions, and giving them price breaks. With these suggestions, your home business can thrive.

Your Own Poker Site - A Profitable Home Business Opportunity

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

Poker is fantastic! It’s a game of incredible skill and psychology and not luck and pure gambling as it’s often perceived to be. As with all the best games and sports, it is extremely easy to learn how to play but takes a lifetime to master.

Poker is an ancient game of uncertain origins, but one thing is for sure – it’s going to be around for a while making some people vast amounts of money. Hopefully with the information in this course you will become one of them.

Let’s get one thing straight from the start, you don’t need to be a great poker player to run a great poker website. All you have to do is provide great poker information and make your site a valuable resource for visitors so that they will keep coming back.

Think about it – would you only visit a football site if it was run by a great football player? Or would you only be interested in visiting a movie site if it was run by a famous actor or actress? Of course not, other people run them – the stars are too busy and too rich to be running websites.

But…

The level of your poker experience will determine what kind of site you can run.

If you just happen to be a fantastic poker player who wants to start and run a website as a money making proposition (and why shouldn’t you!), there are avenues open to you that would not be open to occasional or average players.

For example you could use your expertise to give poker coaching that you could charge a premium for, or a fee based membership site for high level players or those who seek to be so.

For the rest of us (and I include myself here), there is still a vast opportunity to profit from poker.

As you are going to be running a poker website, you need to know about playing poker online. It doesn’t matter too much how good or bad a player you are, you just need to know about playing on the websites in order to be able to write about them.

So first things first – learn about poker!

Only when you’ve learned the basics of the game can you move on to thinking about running a poker site.

This article is part of Chapter 1 of “Poker Site Profits″. Find out more about how to start and run a profitable poker site by visiting PokerSiteProfits.com PokerSiteProfits.com

Resell Rights Make it Easy to Start an Online Business

Sunday, July 31st, 2005

If you have been longing to start a business online you may be coming across terms you′ve never heard before. Resell rights, affiliate programs etc. You may also have found the opportunities available are overwhelming. Where do you begin?

BUYING RESELL RIGHTS PRODUCTS - EASY PLACE TO START

Buying and selling resell rights products may be the easiest and most lucrative online business to start running. Some people might argue that affiliate programs are the better choice for starting youronline business, but I would have to disagree. Why? Because with affiliate programs you’re having to do the same amount of work but only receiving a percentage of the profits. I’ll take more money for the same amount of work any day, how about you?

With any online business you must have a product to sell. First you have to create a product or service and then you have to be able to fill orders. With resell rights products there is no need to create a product because, as the name suggests, you’re reselling someone elses product. Creating and selling your own product or service also means creating a website, learning how to write ad copy, setting up a marketing plan and obviously doing the work. If you’re selling a physical product then you will need to make or buy the item, package it and pay for shipping costs. If you provide a service than you will likely have to start by doing free jobs to build your credibility and then when you are charging for your service you are still limited by how much work you can actually handle.

THE MAGIC OF RESELL RIGHTS
Resell rights products are a great way to get started in an online business. In fact there are even some marketers online who are making fabulous incomes from buying and reselling other peoples products.

In most cases you do not even need to build a website or design any graphics. Most good resell products come with a pre-written sales letter, website and graphics all ready for you to upload to your web host. Yes, you do need a place to sell the product from, so you′ll need to get a domain name and a web host. Domain names can be purchased at Godaddy.com for $8.95. You can find a good web host for as little as $7.95 or less. Just go to Google.com and type in the search term “website host″ and you will find plenty to choose from. Then your job is to drive traffic (customers) to your website.

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT RESELL PRODUCT?

You should research the popularity of some of your interests. Try to determine if people are already buying any product associated with that interest online. There are many sources for finding that information including free ones such as the Overture keyword tool at Overture.com.

When you have found an area that is interesting to you and popular then type the subject along with ‘resell rights’ into your search engine and see which products in your area of interest come with resell rights. You have to be a little careful in choosing the right product.

When you have found a product that looks interesting make sure you read the terms for reselling. There are two kinds of resell rights. Regular resell rights which means that you can resell the product, but your customer cannot and ‘Full′ or ‘Master’ resell rights which usually allow you to resell not only the product but the resell rights as well. Ebooks and downloadable software are, in my opinion, the best products to resell because there is no physical product to make or ship.

I haven′t written anything about the price of resell rights products because, like everything else, the range of prices is very wide. In some cases you can get a good ebook or software product with resell rights for as little as $40 or $50, but sometimes the price may be as high as $200 to $400. Just remember to find a product that’s selling well but not too many people are selling. And don′t forget, you get to keep 100% of the profit.

START MARKETING

The reason reselling other people’s products is so great for beginners is that you can spend most of your time focused on marketing - not making - your product.

As you gain experience marketing you will make adjustments to your selling and start creating a wonderful income for you and your family!

Have You Achieved Your Real Independence Day Yet?

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

This month, in the USA, we celebrate “Independence Day”… a day that commemorates independence from oppression and liberation from those who would seek to keep you from setting your own course and controlling your own destiny.

No matter where you are in the world, the question raised is:

“Have you had your own personal ‘Independence Day′ yet?”

Since you’re a subscriber of mine, I hope so. But if not, you should ask yourself, what can you do to gain more independence, especially using the power of the Internet?

However, before I get into that, let’s talk about what “independence” really means…

To me, “independence” means:

– You don’t punch a clock for someone else (your business is simply a “means to an end” that enables you to pursue your passions and dreams instead of being a “wage slave” for another company or person)

– Your time is your own and you spend it how you want (whether that’s playing video games, traveling or spending more time with your children and family)

– You do NOT trade time for dollars. But rather you have a business that makes you money whether you show up or not… (No matter what type of product or service you have, the web makes this easier than ever before!)

– Your business and income grows every year without requiring you to work more hours…

Properly structured, your business becomes a wealth-producing asset that provides for you. And also provides for your family if something happens to you and you’re not able to take care of them (or can’t work for months).

Let’s face it. If you’re spending all your time responding to emails, answering the phone, putting up mini-sites, calling leads, trying to find new prospects, attending meetings, and “DOING” all the activities IN your business…you have a JOB, NOT a business!

That’s why it’s important at this time of year that you take a step back and take a look at what’s distracting you from the big picture of your TRUE independence.

A lot of people get into an online business or networking business with the hopes of killing their “day” job, but all they do is trade one job for another (often working MORE HOURS at their new “job” than they ever did on their original job!).

One of the reasons that happens is because with the traditional model of MLM, you do NOT have any wealth-producing assets under your control. (You don’t own the company, products, downline, marketing materials, websites, comp plan…nothing!).

Truth be told, I know many people who built up nice incomes the “traditional″ way…only to see that income vanish when their company changed the rules of the game (or the FTC got involved).

So if you want true independence, you need to do the following with your business…

#1: YOU NEED A LEAD GENERATING ASSET THAT YOU CONTROL.

Beware of people telling you to ONLY do the traditional ways of MLM.

If that’s working for you, great! But the reality is that 90-95% of the people who get into our industry do NOT have any major success and can NOT make the “usual” ways of prospecting work for them.

The main problem of operating with the old-school methods is that you don′t have an asset that’s working FOR you. In essence, you are STILL trading time for dollars. (Yes, you′ll get duplication in your team…but if you rely solely on that, you′re putting your security and income in someone else’s hands again!).

BOTTOM LINE: Get control of your OWN 24×7 lead generator (ideally a mini-site) if you want true online independence.

#2: YOU NEED TO BUILD A LIST!

There are six profit lists you should be focusing on, but you really need to focus on four of them if you want to experience leverage and freedom in your business.

The first main list you build is a prospect list - people who are interested in your product or service in general. You’ll also build this list for your lead generating mini-site.

The second main list you build is a customer list of the people who get your lead generator above. And also a list of the people who sign up for your company’s product or service.

Using online leverage tools like autoresponders, you can drip on them on autopilot. Plus this allows you to leverage your message out to hundreds or thousands of people at once.

You want to be in control of the relationship - don’t let someone else manage that *critical* asset.

#3: YOU NEED TO PUT SYSTEMS TO WORK IN YOUR BUSINESS!

Why?

So you can remove yourself from the processes that actually drive your business!

In other words…ultimately your business can’t depend on you to DO much of ANYTHING if you want to have a business that is a “real” business.

You can start things.

You can figure things out.

You can get the whole ball rolling.

But after that, get out of YOUR OWN WAY!

You need people, teams, software, and systems in place so that your business can run without your day-to-day interaction or input. That’s a REAL business.

Now here’s what to do to have a true “Independence Day” this month…

– Like I’ve said in the past, take some time AWAY from your business to THINK about what you *really* want from it If your business is a vehicle, WHERE do you want it to take you?

– If you had a “perfect” business, what would it look like and what would it do for YOU?

– Describe your “perfect” day! What would you do? Who would you see? How would you make money if there were NO limitations placed on you?

I sat down for a few days 3 years ago to answer these very same questions questions, and as a result made some massive changes. I’ll admit the changes weren’t super easy (mainly because of getting in my own way), but the result was liberation from everything I disliked…more income…and my life and business became the way *I* wanted them.

So get away from your business and computer to do this exercise in the next 24-48 hours. Be truthful to yourself and the answers - and be willing to make the changes necessary for true independence!

Market Your Home Business Using Your Existing Contacts

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

Starting a new business is always difficult, especially if it’s a lifestyle and a professional change. New networks, new people, new experience, new learning curves, new opportunities, new failures…new everything!

Getting caught up in the newness of everything, we can sometimes forget about the luxury of current and former contacts, and taking full advantage of who and what we know. Just because you’re in a new industry, doesn’t mean your current and past relationships can’t be an asset.

As you consider your contacts, decide how you can leverage your relationships in the most respectable and honorable way possible. You want to ensure that your contacts will benefit as well. Don’t make it all about you and your business. Ask about them, their family and consider ways you could benefit their business. Do you know anyone you could refer to them? Help others succeed, and they will help you succeed.

Be sure you never misuse or abuse your relationships. You do not want to tarnish your relationships or leave your contacts with a bad taste about your business. Remember, you do not have to ask old pals for hand-outs ask them for support. Offer free samples, free consultations, free education and so on. If applicable, offer yourself as a speaker, consultant or expert in your industry. There should not be a hard sale to sell anyone instead, share a positive view with confidence, grace and respect.

Never underestimate your self-worth. Lose confidence and it’ll show. Be ashamed to promote your new business startup and it’ll also show. Remember, your home business reputation is your personal and professional reputation. Don’t be afraid to tell others about how excited you are about your business. Your confidence and enthusiasm are sure to win many new advocates for you.

Dominate your market by being yourself–a leader of your new business start-up. This way, no matter who you meet, whether they are colleagues of your past or present, you’re still a leading professional with confidence, enthusiasm and a winning attitude that draws people to you and your business.

Things You Need To Know To Protect Yourself Against Home Business Scams

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

So you want to start your home-based business, and it’s going to make you rich. Perhaps you want to start one because you’ve been approached by a friend or family member, and what you saw or heard made you stay up late last night just thinking about the possibilities! You are so excited aren’t you… and you are ready to be your own boss, right?

Before you jump on the home-based business bandwagon though, there are some things you need to know that are really tough to hear, especially after you have just found the “one thing″ that will get you your dreams. If you have never looked into this kind of thing before, then now is the time to really sit up and pay attention.

First of all, it is important to realize that most home business offers are not what they seem. To put it bluntly, the majority are illegal scams that will suck your checking and savings accounts dry. Think about it, if it really was that easy to invest a little cash and strike it rich in ninety days, wouldn’t everyone be doing it? What I would like to do for you is offer some real information that will help you to recognize and avoid the most prominent scams.

The Right Location

Chances are you saw your “dream opportunity” on the Internet. Or perhaps a very personable guy named ‘Joe’, who you don’t really know sent an email to you. Or maybe a poster caught your eye, or maybe you got something via ’snail mail′. If either of these is the case, then I can guarantee you that it is not legitimate. There are better sources for home-based business opportunities; job magazines, newspapers, job search websites, etc. The important rule is to always thoroughly investigate each offer before spending any money! Assume it is a scam until you have strong proof otherwise.

Envelopes

Envelope stuffing as a business, can you really make money? You will probably spend hundreds of dollars trying to establish an envelope stuffing operation, and I would not be surprised if you get a serious letter from the Postmaster General telling you to cease and desist! Envelope stuffing is the oldest form of home based business scam. In short, you pay the money to sign up, and then you receive a set of envelopes and ads just like the ones you responded to! This is a classic example of an illegal pyramid scheme, and there is absolutely no money in it for you. Repeat after me: “Chain letters are illegal!” And yes, the high tech way of doing this sort of thing is via email. It’s called spam and you should not try this as a way to make money.

Pay for your supplies upfront

Let me put it to you this way: The phrase “you have to spend money to make money” should have you running for the cellar, the bomb shelter, the hills, or wherever. Just run from it, because if you don’t you will end up in the poor house. Real companies do not require you to pay upfront for materials that you will need in order to work for them. If anything, they should be willing to deduct any costs from your first paycheck, if there is ever really going to be one. There are few exceptions to this rule, very, very few.

Working for Free.

Some opportunities look so real don’t they, and especially when it’s crafts, making clothes, ornaments, toys, etc. And you didn’t have to spend any money getting the materials, so it’s the real deal right? The scam goes like this: After you have completed the work and sent it in, the company you did the work for tells you that it did not meet their quality standards and therefore you don’t get paid! THEN they sell what you made at a profit and move on.

If you are great at crafts, wonderful. Sell it yourself! Find a wholesaler or retailer who accepts home made crafts. You might actually make some money on your own terms.

Home Typing, Medical Billing, and More.

Yes, there are a lot of legitimate work from home opportunities. Yes, there are lots of companies with work that needs to be done, especially the tedious kind of work that involves the typing of medical documents, billing, etc. But you shouldn’t have to pay anything or buy anything in order to work for them! These scams have the same basic hook: they emphasize that all you need is your computer, but then you will have to purchase the ‘proprietary software’ you’ll need in order to make your job easier and faster.

What it really boils down to is an elaborate marketing scheme by the makers of the proprietary software, and the only thing easy or fast about it is going to be how easily and quickly your bank account gets emptied. Remember, the legitimate opportunities out there generally do not require you to spend anything up front except your time.

Some last important points. Know whom you are dealing with. Also, realize that you will certainly not make any great amount of money working at home for only one business. Lastly, owning your own business, in whatever form, takes an extraordinarily huge amount of time, money and effort. Unless you are willing to invest your full attention and your entire bank account to the venture, then it’s probably best that you leave it alone.

Work From Home Job Offers - Can You Trust Them?

Saturday, July 30th, 2005

By consistently reviewing the most up to date marketing information and online business tips available today you can protect yourself against work from home scams and fraudsters out to rob you of your money. I was spring cleaning my personal e-mail box the other day a another Work From Home Scam Job Offer which prompted me to write a discussion on this topic as I have seen a few of these around lately.

A couple of months ago I received an e-mail from an Australian Job site called CareerOne. This e-mail was a “work from home job offer” which entailed using one of my bank accounts to move extremely large sums of money, from one account to another, and offered me a large commission of funds.

Now, the alarm bells went off and I immediately reported it, I knew this was a work from home scam but how many people out there new to the Internet would recognise this as a work from home scam? It would be very tempting for someone who is genuinely seeking a legitimate Internet Business Income to innocently jump at such an apparent opportunity. Unfortunately without realising, they unintentionally end up breaking many laws.

Work from home scams are often conducted through spam e-mails, ads in classified sites and on noticeboards or forums. Most are not legitimate work from home job offers. In fact, many of them are a front for money laundering scams, an upfront payment scam or a pyramid scheme. You may receive an e-mail offering a job where you use your bank account to receive and pass on payments for a foreign company, just as I did. They promise to pay you commission for each payment you pass on. The money you are transferring could be part of a money laundering ring and you could end up in serious trouble for being a part of this. Sometimes they are just after your bank account details, cleaning you out after you hand over your details.

You could also be offered a ‘work from home job’ for doing something like stuffing envelopes or typing ads. You are required to pay for a starter kit or administration/joining fee before you can get started. However, once the money is paid, you may receive nothing at all, or simply a set of instructions on how to con other people into joining the same scheme. They proliferate the Net. I actually saw one of these typing work from home ads in my local Messenger just the other day. They wanted a $199 start up fee.

KNOW THIS

Legitimate Online Job Sites will never send you unsolicited e-mail offering you jobs. Remember there are no get-rich-quick schemes: the only people who make money here are the scammers. Be highly suspicious of products or schemes that claim to have guaranteed income or winnings. Be highly suspicious of work from home job offers that require you to pay an upfront fee. You should not have to pay for a work from home job. Money laundering is a criminal offence: NEVER under any circumstances agree to transfer money for someone else. NEVER send money, or give credit card or online account details to any company or person that cannot be verified. Do not open suspicious or unsolicited e-mails (spam): delete them.

BACKGROUND CHECKS

Before responding to a work from home job, try to find out if the company is reputable and well known. If the work from home job offer involves transferring money for someone else, ask yourself if you really want to get involved in something that could be money-laundering and likely to attract police attention. If you are concerned that they are using a legitimate company as a front ask for a direct phone number to the company they are representing and check it out. Check the website address they have given matches the company name and telephone number. There are a number of ways for you to verify their identity. If they cannot provide you with this information, avoid them like the plague.

If you think you may have received a work from home offer that you think is a scam, or if you have responded to a job advertisement that you now realise is a work from home scam, report it to the SCAMwatch website. If you have received an unsolicited e-mail from a well known Job Site, report it to them. This will help others from falling victim themselves.

In summary, remember: be suspicious of unsolicited e-mails, do a background check, and never pay for a work from home job. If you are looking to start an Internet Based Business Opportunity; that is different to a work from home job. Legitimate Internet Business Income Opportunities have start up costs but these are usually for items like website hosting, marketing tools, and advertising costs. Take the time to look around and think through any decision to sign up to a program or Internet Business Income Opportunity before taking the plunge. In doing so, you will save yourself a lot of time, money and heartache.

A Day In The Life of A WAHM (Work At Home Mom)

Friday, July 29th, 2005

It’s about 5:25am and the alarm clock will be blaring in the next 5 minutes. I’ll just switch it off before giving it the opportunity to shock me into a nervous frenzy.

My day has officially started.

Stumbling through the house, I make it to the doorway of the boys′ room. “Wake up guys. It’s time to get up.” I see two heads bobbing around underneath the cover. Finally, they emerge, looking sleepy, agitated and in absolutely no mood to get up.

We begin the ritualistic morning dance to the bathroom 1-2-3 to the shower 1-2-3 to the kitchen 1-2-3 to the bedroom 1-2-3 clothes on 1-2-3 grab lunches 1-2-3 to the car 1-2-3. Ah, we’re finally out of the house.

Morning traffic is a sight to behold. Everybody’s driving for a purpose in the mornings. No leisurely sight seeing or joy riding. We are all on a mission. For some, like me, it’s dropping the kids at school. For others, it’s heading to a place they’re already dreading going, work! I thank God countless times for blessing me to be able to work at home.

Do I miss having co-workers? Yes. Do I miss the relaxing lunches that always seemed to bring some sort of solice to even the roughest work day? Yes. Do I miss the innocent office room gossip at the water cooler? Of course! Still, I wouldn′t change a thing about my life.

I finally have the most rewarding job I’ve ever had. I’m a Mom working at home.

It’s interesting how much more I enjoy the morning conversations with the boys. I’m not pressed for time. I’m not pre-occupied with work deadlines or whether or not I’ll get that promotion. My outfit looks fine, considering it’s a jogging suit and gym shoes. My focus is on only the moment.

I drop the kids at they’re school and watch them march in like good little students. God only knows what tricks they have in store for their teachers today.

Heading back home I begin to plan my day.

That’s the thing about working at home. Your life, your day, your time, your success all belongs to you. The possibilities are endless. You can work as little or as much as you want. You set your goals and achieve them at your own pace.

But wait! There’s a sale at the Shopping Mall today. Maybe I can start working on the business goals tomorrow. I think I’ll call a friend and spend today shopping. You certainly can’t pass up a sale as good as the one they′re having today!

You did realize work at home moms have vacation days too, didn’t you?
