Earn Extra Money

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

Tired of being unable to make both ends meet? Do you usually suffer from budget constraints? When financial assets become too tight that you no longer know how to cope with the upcoming expenses that may confront you, you tend to go loco. A budget that is unable to cover specific needs becomes a real concern. If you want to save yourself from all these worries, it is only proper to think of possible remedies to help you out. Earning extra money can be your primary aim.

Some Worthy Ideas to Help You Earn Extra Money

Look at your good points. Find out your skills and talents. Are you good in math or in English? Then you can offer tutorial lessons. Are you good at creating trendy accessories and display items? Then you can focus on making them and selling them for a good price.

Free your creativity. After deciding on which task to go for, it is high time to select the location from which to conduct your “business.” For tutorial lessons, you can use your veranda or study room. You can even offer home services. By this you get paid per hour. For some arts and crafts, you can utilize a spare room you have at home. There are still a lot of ideas which you can choose from to earn extra money.

Turn to your old things. You may have discarded a lot of valuable things because they are now out of fashion or you may have simply changed your taste. After gathering them and assessing which are worth selling, you can start a garage sale. The things you may sell can include clothes, CDs, old toys, books, and so on.

Cook your way to extra money. Whether you are an excellent cook or merely a novice, you can surely whip up a best-selling recipe. You can seek the help of your mother or grandmother who is an expert in making pastries, candies, desserts, and other cuisine. You can cook on a per-order basis.

Think of the holidays. Valentine’s Day, Christmas, New Year, St. Patrick’s Day and Thanksgiving are special occasions which you can take advantage of. Why not make souvenir and gift items for such affairs?

Go online. You can do freelance online jobs such as article-writing, editing, emailing, and so on. There are a lot of opportunities on the net.

The extra money that you can put aside gives you a good, secure feeling. You do not have to start out with a big capital to earn extra money. All you need is an ounce of determination, a pound of creativity, and of course, tons of hard work.

How To Get Motivated For Business

Tuesday, March 29th, 2005

“I′ve lost my mojo!”

Do you ever feel that way in your home business? Do you often start projects with boundless energy then fizzle out quickly? Do you need some ideas on how to get motivated again for your business?

How To Get Motivated For Business

-> Review your “why″.

If you haven′t done this already, try to make 100 goals for yourself. This is a work in progress and may take you several weeks to finish, but do start the process. You need to have a bunch of things that motivate you to accomplish your goals when the going gets tough or when your progress is slower than you might like.

-> Spend 20 minutes a day focusing on your goals.

Now that you have your goals written down, spend 10 minutes twice a day, preferably first thing in the morning and last thing at night, reviewing them. Visualize yourself as having accomplished those goals, and let yourself feel the emotions. Act “as if”. This can be one of the most powerful things you ever do to get and stay motivated for your business.

-> Hang out with motivated people.

Avoid people who are negative and who drain your energy as much as possible. Sometimes this is unavoidable, but do try to minimize contact with those types of people, especially when your own motivation is low.
Instead, actively seek out motivated people. These might be friends or they might be business peers. One great place to find motivated successful people is at the home business mentors Mom Masterminds.

-> Celebrate your successes

Sometimes we get so caught up in growing our businesses that we forget to celebrate the little achievements. That small affiliate check, a new page added to a web site, an unsolicited, glowing testimonial about your product, etc. Keep a log of all the little things that happen in your business and review them when you need to get motivated again.

-> Imagine the Worst

Ask yourself “What will happen if I don′t accomplish my goals?”
Sometimes that fear of looking and feeling like a failure will snap you out of your low period and get you motivated.

-> Give yourself a deadline for slack time

Everyone has slumps, and sometimes the best thing you can do during those times is to take some time off to regroup, so that you can come back to your business refreshed and motivated again.
Just be sure to set a deadline for yourself. Give yourself a day or two or whatever period of time feels comfortable to slack off, and then get back to work!
You’ll probably find that you have no trouble getting motivated again as your energy increases.

Network Marketing Business - Not a Sales Job!

Monday, March 28th, 2005

Many folks believe success in a network marketing business involves selling. I recently received an email “MLM tip of the day” which stated:

Don’t let anyone kid you. Network marketing is a selling game and the best way to play the game is to have a good product or business presentation.

I read that and it made me cringe. How many people do you know who like to sell or be sold? My guess is not many! No one likes it. Yet we get into this business of network marketing wanting success and we’re told that’s what we must do. We are told the only path to success is to get out of our comfort zone and become that salesperson we don’t even like! How long can a person stay out of his comfort zone and become what he is not? The answer is not long.

No wonder the attrition rate in our business is so high, close to 97%! No wonder the phone feels like a million pounds! No wonder we feel stressed when approaching our friends and family! It’s because of crazy stuff like this. Then we start to feel like a failure because “we weren’t cut out to be in network marketing” and figure that MLM only works for the lucky few who can sell, sell, sell or recruit, recruit, recruit as we slowly watch our dreams slip away. But, there is hope!

Build Relationships and the Sales will follow

Building a successful network marketing business is not about selling. It’s about building relationships and focusing on other people. Helping others get what they want, not selling them your product or selling them on joining your business. Focus on the other person. Find out what they want to accomplish in their life then help them get what they want, that’s how you find success. Don’t sell. Network marketing business success needs to be win/win not sell/sell.

Slow down and listen

Instead of focusing on what you should say next, slow your mind down and listen to the other person. Hear what they have to say. It will change the way you approach people and lower your stress level. People will sense that you care about them and you want to help them reach their dreams and desires. When you take the focus off yourself and put it onto the other person you will be amazed at how relaxed and open they become. The other person will instinctively know you care.

Do yourself and your business a favor. Don’t follow the advice of these so called MLM gurus. Don’t sell! Instead build a relationship with your new found friend, a.k.a. prospect. The process may take a little longer, but you’ll have a life long business partner or product buyer which will be worth a lot more money to you in the long run. So, remember to have massive success in your network marketing business, it’s not a sales job, it’s a relationship business!

3 Tips on Helping Parent Guilt at Daycare

Monday, March 28th, 2005

It’s a typical morning at a children’s daycare center, a mom dropping off her child and trying to leave without the child being upset. But the fact of the matter is that every child has difficulty separating from their own mother. If you think about it it’s so very natural for the child to be upset that their mom is leaving their side and instructing them to have a good day and play with their friends. Mothers and let’s not keep out Dad’s are the light of a child’s life, there whole world focuses on the parent and many times nothing else exists. And when that parent leaves the child many times feel’s extremely upset.

Now, I’m not trying to say that all children are like this, they are not. But many are and it’s the daycare providers duty to bridge the gap between parent and child. So how is this done you wonder? Here are 3 ways that you can bridge the gap between mom and child.

1. Realize that the parent must believe that you are trustworthy and competent in taking care of their child and others. With out this the parent will not trust you and feel that you are not able in taking care of multiple children. This whole idea stems down to professionalism (which is a whole other topic). Showing up to check in your children in pj’s and bed head is a bad way to present yourself. Looking surprised that a child is arriving for childcare is another poor way of representing yourself, you want parents to know that you are waiting for them. Present yourself as a professional person and you will be respected for the work that you do.

2. Realize that some children are angry that their parent is going to work and dropping them off. Often times you will notice that once the parent leaves the daycare the child stops crying. Most parents realize this and few are upset and often times this is only temporary.

3. Always reassure the parent that they are making a good decision by choosing you for a daycare provider and that their child’s sad feelings will pass. Be sure to call the parent during the course of the day to let them know that their child is having a good day. Give a small gift for the child for their first day at childcare, reassure the parent that they made a good choice.

A parents guilty feelings are usually at their greatest during the first few weeks of starting a new childcare. Once a child as started care they will soon realize that they are in a wonderful place and there is nothing to be worried about, and that goes for parent and child.

Commercial Window Washing Business Tips–Part 1

Monday, March 28th, 2005

The title of my manual is How to Start Your Own Residential Window Washing Business so 98% of my business was residential window washing and that’s what I teach, but window washing is window washing whether it is residential or commercial.

Although I will say there are certainly some differences and a few twists when it comes to commercial window cleaning. So we’re going to talk about that and a whole more in this article

****************
The Approach
****************

There are 3 primary ways to approach a commercial window washing account.

1. This approach, in my opinion, is the best way. Just walk in, introduce yourself, and offer to provide a free estimate to get their windows cleaned. Here’s a sample conversation:

Store Clerk/manager/owner: Can I help you?

Window Washer: Sure…my name is Steve Wright and I own SparkleClear Window Washing in town. I was wondering if I can provide you an estimate to get your windows cleaned.

Store Clerk/manager/owner: Whaddya crazy?

Window Washer: Yabba dabba doo.

Sorry about that. Strike the last two from the record.

Seriously though…this approach gets to the heart of the matter very quickly, so if there’s any interest or lack of interest at all, you’ll know about it fast so you can move on to the next
location.

They may say “we currently have someone, so we wouldn’t be really be interested”, or they may say, “we have someone but he’s not too dependable so go ahead and give me an estimate″, or they might say “not right now, why don’t you leave me your business card and I′ll give you a call if we need someone″, or they might say “Man we′ve been looking for someone…when can you do ‘em?”.

If they’re not interested, always leave them one of your business cards anyway. Timing is everything and maybe at the present time, the timing isn′t right. A few months down the road, their current window washer might screw up, so they’ll be looking to tap into a new window washer.

In my monthly newsletter Window Washing Success Tips, you′ve heard me write about playing the numbers game. And that’s all we’re doing here. Say what you have to say, either do the
estimate or not, and then move on. The more accounts you talk to, the more you get, and the more you can sing “Hi Ho Hi Ho, it’s off to the bank I go.”

Although I personally don’t think there’s a lot of salesmanship involved in the above conversation with the store clerk, I have spoken to window washers who don’t feel comfortable just walking in off the street and asking to do an estimate.

So this leads me to the second way of approaching a commercial prospect.

2. Simply use a flyer as the door opener or “crutch″. And you can let it to do the “selling” for you. In a recent article, I talked about the use of testimonials so make sure you include 2 or 3 testimonials in your flyer.

With flyer in hand, I would say:

“Hi…my name is Steve Wright and I own SparkleClear Window Washing in town here. I just wanted to leave you this flyer introducing my service in case you may ever be in need of a quality window cleaning.”

And then just leave the flyer and off you go to the next store or business. Easy and fast.

3. This approach is a combination of the two listed above. You simply walk into the business with a flyer. I would say:

“Hi, my name is Steve Wright and I own SparkleClear Window Washing Service in town. I just wanted to stop in and give you this flyer to introduce my window washing service to you in case you might ever be in need of a quality window washing company. Oh by the way…Since I’m here, can I go ahead and give
you a free window washing estimate?”

I personally like number 1 the best but number 3 comes in a close second. Asking them a direct yes or no question is usually much more effective then just handing them something and then walking
away, like what happens when we use approach #2.

One last thing on the flyers…some window washers have created flyers that offer an introductory special regardless of the true estimate value of the store or business.

Overall people have told me the response has been favorable, but some window washers don’t feel like doing jobs for $10 (for example) when the true estimate value is $40.

I personally think it’s a great idea. It gets them committed to you so there’s a very strong chance you’ll be going back on a repeat basis. If not…you didn’t really lose that much. And
you did gain additional exposure for your business by being there working in your company uniform. Anytime you can do that, it’s a plus for sure.

In last month’s newsletters, I talked about why it’s important to not to make price the central theme of your business, but that was for your residential customers. Commercial is a whole different ball game. That’s one of the twists I referred to earlier in this article.

Speaking about pricing, here we go…

*********
Pricing
*********

Be cheap. How’s that for a short answer?

Yes…you do need to bring down your pricing vs. your normal residential pricing. The commercial side of the business is cutthroat and there’s some pricing wars going on. So you’re going to be up against some competition usually.

It’s hard to give you exact numbers without seeing the glass, but an average size pane of glass would be priced at $3 to $4. Keep in mind that the average size pane of commercial glass could be 2 to 3 times the size of a window that you would see on a house. The good news is that it’s just one pane vs. a two pane (or more)
regular double hung window at a house.

And then adjust upward or downward accordingly. What I mean is your final presented price is a judgement call based on 4 things…

1. Are you desperate for the business?

2. Did the store seem really interested or was it one of those “Yeah…you can leave us an estimate if you want to″ kind of sentences.

3. Do you know or have an idea whether you might be competing against another window washing bid?

4. Are you providing an estimate to a store who currently has a window washer?

The best scenario obviously is if a store is desperately in need of a good window washer or they currently have a window washer who they’re looking to get rid of because of dependability and quality issues (you’ll hear this a lot).

In these situations, you may want to bump up the estimate a few dollars (just a few).

Otherwise, you may want to drop your estimated price a little bit. Again…use your judgement. As you probably know by now, the estimating process certainly isn’t an exact science.

Just remember that commercial window washing is all about price. There′s always another commercial window washer right behind you willing to do it for less.

With your residential customers, you’ll generally have the loyalty of the homeowner (unless you did a poor job), so they’re not going to make the change to another window washer to save a few measly bucks as readily as a business owner or manager would.

In Part 2, I talk about presenting the estimate, quality of the job, service contracts, and wrapping it all up.

See you then and happy cleaning,

Best Wishes,

How To Kick-Start Your Home Internet MLM Business

Monday, March 28th, 2005

Internet MLM is fast gaining popularity in recent years. People have been leveraging the power of the Internet to help them earn their full time income online from their home. So, a lot of internet network marketers try to do this business solely through the Internet.

There is really no definite right or wrong answer BUT I have one concern in my mind though…

If you already have some knowledge in internet marketing. That will be good. You can just apply these skills to internet MLM. It will work very well and you will see some results.

However, you have to realized that many people around you are still not aware of internet marketing, especially in Asia. You may know your stuffs well, like how to generate traffic, how to set up a squeeze page, how to set up a wordpress blog etc. But those people do not know how to do it!

So what do I trying to infer?

Newbies need to take some time to learn about internet marketing. This may takes up to 6 months before they have the basic knowledge and skills. Personally, I took around 4 months before I really understand how internet marketing works.

So, during these learning curve period, newbies at some point of time will feel demoralized or frustrated. This is because they are not earning. Most of time they are learning. The money they invested in learning is much more than they earn.

For those with little MLM or internet marketing experiences, the fastest and easiest way to kick-start your business is to share the opportunity with a few friends. No… I don’t intend to ask you call up 100 friends. This is not the way. The solution? Give them an email instead, saying that you have a part-time work at home opportunity. Ask them whether they will be interested. Those not interested will probably not reply you. So, you face no rejections! Only those who are interested will get back to you. From my experience, maybe 1 or 2 will join your home internet MLM business.

There you are! You will feel more confident now since there are people joining you already and you had started to earn your commissions. Your business has kick-started!

In the mean time, the newbies should continue to learn how to market online as fast as they could in order to propel them forward even further. They will soon see great results in months to come.

Network Marketing - Is Duplication A Fantasy Or Reality?

Sunday, March 27th, 2005

One of the central tenants in the promotional material about network marketing, is the power of duplication. The story goes that you’ll refer 3 people, who′ll each refer 3 people, and so on…

This is truly the power of leverage, but the problem is that most people who sign up for programs have little to no experience either online or offline in building a business and networking it. They don’t know enough to provide valuable information that acts as a relationship builder, and most often, they don’t have the skills to set up an autoresponder account or a website.

Most network marketing programs have information on how to generate leads, but if someone doesn’t have the skill-set to write a good autoresponder series, they′re left to rely on the one the company has provided. Unfortunately, this is often a series of sales messages, that provide little of real value to someone starting out. The leads you load up to this autoresponder series are simply sent a series of letters telling them why they should
‘buy-buy-buy′. And most people have a sense that they actually need to know a little more about how things work on the internet to make their prospective business successful So, the sign-up rate is not going to be particularly high.

Of the people who do sign up from those emails, how many of them are now going to be equipped to make the program work? After all, if they don′t start making money in a few months, they will drop out of the program. And the principle of leverage won′t start to work if people aren′t being guided or taught to take effective action. It’s easy to take action, even easier to spend money on poor quality advertising. But that won′t build a business.

A system needs to be in place to develop people into leaders - to take them from newbie to expert in the shortest time possible. And it’s a system that needs to take into account the fundamental principles of direct sales. The internet is simply a different form of direct sales, and it’s a well known fact that most people won′t buy from you until they’ve seen your tips, or other valuable information, seven or more times.

Having an autoresponder system, set up with newsletter style emails that regularly keep in touch with your prospects, is vital for success. It provides several benefits. The first is that over time, as people begin to see that you are offering something of real value in helping them get started with an online business, more sign-ups into your preferred program will naturally follow. What is more, these sign ups will have been effectively trained in some of the fundamental principles and methods that lead to success on the internet.

There are a number of ways to get content for the series. If you’re just starting out yourself, your upline may be able to help you collaborate on a series of letters. Or, you could invest in some good quality courses and study them until you have more knowledge yourself. And, you could of course hire a writer with small business/internet marketing/network marketing experience to write the articles for you. These could then be shared with your downline to get them started.

As well as an autoresponder system, you’ll need a direct sales page that ethically persuades people to sign up to your autoresponder series. There are several options for creating that sales letter. You could study other successful sales letters and adapt them to your needs. Or, hire someone to write it for you. Although this can be expensive, it’s a one time investment that you can share with your downline, by providing them access to your sales copy.

The principle of duplication requires going ‘above and beyond’ the sales material the company has given each member. By investing either time, or money, or both, in acquiring quality prospecting material, this can then be shared with your downline to create a truly duplicatable system. Perhaps all won’t follow it, but it will give potential leaders a chance to really shine.

The fact that good ideas are so important to the health of any work at home business opportunity means that an important secret for success is being able to come up with a system for constantly generating new ideas.

So how does somebody create an effective system for generating viable and effective work at home business opportunity ideas and what is the secret that will enable you to create one that will be really effective?

Creating such a system starts with the decision to focus all your efforts on a certain niche or business idea. Many online entrepreneurs find it very difficult to focus on a particular area of operation. They are easily distracted and end up running dozens of work at home business opportunity ventures at the same time meaning that whatever secrets they implement will have little or no effect. Once you have made a firm decision to focus on a certain area, it then becomes very easy to surf the web and visit many different sites looking for ideas to apply to your particular web site.

Another useful source of ideas to include in your system for generating ideas is a good keyword phrase tool like the Overture one that shoes you the popularity of certain keywords and key phrases over a recent month. This is a very effective tool for generating excellent work at home business opportunity ideas and secrets to apply to your venture.

Your Burning Questions Part 5

Sunday, March 27th, 2005

This email took a little longer than expected to get out.
When you’re a network marketer you have to support your team
in every situation possible, well that’s what I had to do
toady!

But never to disappoint here is our final installment of
your most burning questions!

(Many more questions were sent in than I could answer. I
will do my best to answer as many of them personally as I
can. In this series I wanted to make sure to answer the
biggest questions so that’s what we’ve done!)

Stay glued because tomorrow morning I will be choosing our
winner of the BIGGEST burning question and I will be send
them their prize!!!

===========================
Question #1
===========================

How do I find qualified people that want to learn more and
have the money
to pay for it. Unlike myself that is struggling to exist out
here without a
job and running out of time quickly.

Everyone offers free ebooks, I have over 3000 of them but
they don’t help unless you have money to advertise or have a
list. I have no list and no money how do I do this
opportunity.

My Question is HOW do I get interested people involved in
it. Without
spending any more money!!! Guru’s do it because of who they
know, and JV’s
together, not what they send us in BS and ebooks.

Steve Hall

===========================

Steve,

Very good question!!!

8 months ago before I started my network marketing business
I didn′t have a list or any of the other benefits of what
someone would consider a guru.

So I can tell you exactly how to grow your business without
any prior leverage!

The simple answer is start marketing.

The first thing that I did to jumpstart my business was to
send out a few emails to some strong online publications.

The second thing that I did was I started a PPC campaign
with Google Adwords. These two actions brought me my first
50 or so team members.

So you can start marketing without a list and have success.

After this initial success it was simply a matter of
leveraging that success into bigger successes by teaching my
team exactly what I had done to get them so that they could
leverage my knowledge for our overall benefit.

Now you ask . . How can you do it without money?

Well what I did took money. About $232 to be exact.

How can you achieve success without money. Well, the first
thing that you are going to have to do is change your
perspective on your business.

If you are trying to grow a business on a $0 budget you are
going to have to devote some SERIOUS time and you should
expect this from the outset. There are ways to generate
traffic for free online, but they all take a great deal of
time.

If I were to go into marketing my business with no money
online I would devote 100% of my efforts to writing and
distributing articles on a large scale. I don’t mean writing
one article a week and distributing it to 5 article
directories I mean writing 10 to 20 articles a week and
distributing them to at least 30 article directories a piece
every week for at least 2 months.

With that sort of out put I would generate a moderate
response. Not the level of response that I speak about
above, but I would generate some measurable success that
would grow virally over the course of time.

Now here are the downfalls to going in on a $0 budget. It’s
not that duplicable. You are not going to find many people
who can or are willing to put out this sort of an effort to
see results, so if you are going to go in with no money are
going to have to be knowledgeable about paid advertising as
well because this is what your new recruits will gravitate
towards.

People want results fast and there is no way to do that
without money or without a list so you are going to have to
show them where they can spend their advertising dollar to
generate measurable results in a decent amount of time if
you are going to keep their interest in growing their
business.

It can be done on a $0 budget, but you are still going to
have to know how to teach people to effectively advertise
with money.

===========================
Question #2
===========================

What is your daily routine in your business. For example
when I come to work at
the office I do the following:

1.sort and distribute mail

2.check emails

3.return phone messages

4.file charts.

5.etc

6.etc

What do you do (step by step) as a network marketer so I
can set up some kind of
routine for my network marketing business.

Sharon Baker

===========================

Sharon,

This is a great question! I truly applaud you on it!

Here is what I do on a daily basis to run my business.

Remember I am still doing everything part time like most
other people out there so my time is limited.

When I get up in the morning the first thing that I try to
do is answer as many emails as I can. Usually I devote an
hour to this task.

The next thing that I do is I see if have any new leads in
my business to follow up on. If I do I will attend to that
task because it usually goes hand in hand with email follow
up.

The next thing I do is I ask what I can do to better help my
team grow?

Is there anything that I′m doing wrong? Is there anything
that I can improve?

I jot down these notes and try to attend to them during the
course of the week.

After this I try to send out a message to either my team or
my internet mlm success subscribers or both if need be. This
task can take an hour or more if I’m writing a couple
emails.

Then I go to work.

When I return home I check my email to see if there are any
pressing matters that need to be attended to and I respond
to the emails that I′ve sent in the morning.

It is usually at night when I set up and track new or
ongoing advertising cmapaings so this is when I attend to
this task. This can take either no time or quite a bit of
time depending on the task.

If there are any eBooks or new idea to learn I also try to
do this in the afternoon to see what I can add or augment in
my personal business plan.

Finally throughout the day I speak to and try to help those
people that call me for either downline training or
questions about joining my business. Usually I try to tell
people to call between 6 and 8pm but I get calls from all
over the world so it ends up being an ongoing task
throughout the day.

That’s about it!

A lot goes into my days, but it’s routine now and once
something is a habit it becomes second nature.

Larry Rivera

===========================

Larry,

I want you to give me a call as you are a member of my team.
If you are willing to work with me I have a plan for you
that will without a doubt will produce the result that you are
looking for.

Unlike many you quote a large enough figure to start your
trail towards success with 100% certainty based my experience.

With what you have proposed I will show you exactly what you
need to do when we speak, but here is the basic premise.

In an online world if you want to create a stable and long
term business you should have a product of your own.

It’s tough in the MLM industry because it’s hard to create a
product that has credibility if you don’t have prior
success, but that’s one of the reasons that I created Net
MLM Profits.

Anyone who purchases that guide has 100% resale rights to it
so they can set it up and resell it for themselves.

Having a leverage such as this will allow you to grow a list
of exactly the type of prospects that you want to attract in
network marketing while having your marketing effort pay for
itself.

Here’s an example I gave to one of my new team members a
couple of days ago.

I told him that if he wanted to set Net MLM Profits up if he
could generate 1000 leads in a month he would automatically
generate a marketing budget of $810 conservatively.

I say this because out of 1000 leads he would have at least
30 sales on the very conservative side which is a 3%
conversion ratio. So that means that if he could generate at
leads at $0.81 or less he would automatically put himself
into a breakeven or better situation.

Why?

Because 1000 lead / $810 = $.81 per lead

He would only have to grow his list at 33 leads a day and at
the end of the month he would not only have made at leas 30
sales but he would have a list of leads worth $810 for
FREE!

Duplicate this month after month and you can start to see
the type of growth in a business that this can create.

Anyways . . .

Larry give me a call. You know where to find me and we’ll get
you on the right track!
